  • Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), which is a newly emerging infectious disease worldwide, can be categorized as an occupational disease, because employees, particularly in the healthcare system, can be infected at the workplace. As of December 15, 2020, we summarized the occupational safety and health practices in selected countries on the recognition of COVID-19 as one of the occupational risks. The situation has differed among countries, including the recognition status and whether a specific regulation existed. International organizations, namely the International Labour Organization, World Health Organization, and European Union, should plan and conduct studies on the work-relatedness of COVID-19, propose criteria for recognition, and add the infection to the occupational disease list to provide a basis for specific country regulations. Stakeholders should also act to adjust country-level legislation.

  • In this study, deals with selection of monitoring objects to handle emergency cases of multi-modal transfer stations and information required for emergency surveillance, recognition, verification, propagation, processing and situation closing. Furthermore, this article suggests integrated management scheme for the above information and methods which offer appropriate information required for situation handling decisions at each stage of situation changes. The transfer station which consists of facilities, passengers, and transportations has limitations in required monitoring information. So, for the situation recognition and handling strategy, case-based reasoning of the expert system was used to apply experience, knowledge, and past cases of situation handling experts. The article also suggests methods to control facilities which are operated at transfer stations and these methods can minimize spatial confusions and damages at the emergency situation. The real time situation information will be shared by proper facility controls to support services from external institutions.

  • This research aims at finding out situation on purchasing clothes for kids, size recognition and fitting to provide basic data in order to establish standard sizes for kids' clothes. A survey was conducted to 360 mothers who have children ranging from first to third grade in elementary school on clothes purchasing method, wearing situation, criteria in deciding size and fitting preference. In terms of data analysis, frequency, percentage, mean, $X^2$-test, ANOVA and Duncan-test were used via SPSS PC program. The result is as follows; 1. While the recognition on brand was high, the recognition on body size was low: as a result, it is believed that it would be effective to mark the weight along with the brand. 2. Many times, they would select one or two size bigger on all items and they would go for a regular or one that fits as far as filling is concerned showing that it is different from adult clothes. 3. As far as obese kids, they would choose based on the diameter, so the diameter item is right but they are too long in general. The length question should be given special attention when manufacturing clothes for obese kids.

  • In modern society, developing and utilizing safety service and system environments is a very important and great interest. In particular, the provision of safety services to socially vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, women, the disabled and foreigners has become a social issue. However, since most safety services and systems are applied to the general public, it is necessary to develop systems for socially vulnerable groups. Therefore, in this paper, we developed a system module that processes and transmits data to recognize the situation in real time and respond quickly. To this end, various sensors for real-time situation recognition were designed as integrated modules, and a safety system module was developed to analyze the collected data and transmit the processing results.

  • Currently, self-driving vehicles are on the verge of commercialization after testing. However, even though autonomous vehicles have not been fully commercialized, 81 accidents have occurred, and the driving method of vehicles to avoid accidents relies heavily on LiDAR. In order for the currently commercialized 3-level autonomous vehicle to develop into a 4-level autonomous vehicle, more information must be collected than previously collected information. Therefore, this paper proposes a Driving Situation Judgment System (DSJS) that accurately calculates the crisis situation the vehicle is in by useing the roughness of the road and the state of the passengers of surrounding vehicles including road information and weather information collected from existing autonomous vehicles. As a result of DSJS's PDM experiment, PDM was able to classify passengers 15.52% more accurately on average than the existing vehicle's passenger recognition system. This study can be a basic research to achieve the 4th level autonomous vehicle by collecting more various types than the data collected by the existing 3rd level autonomous vehicle.

  • This paper describes a classical algorithm carrying out dynamic 3D obstacle recognition for autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs), Support Vector Machines (SVMs). SVM is an efficient algorithm that was developed for recognizing 3D object in recent years. A recognition system is designed using Support Vector Machines for applying the capabilities on appearance-based 3D obstacle recognition. All of the test data are taken from OpenGL Simulation. The OpenGL which draws dynamic obstacles environment is used to carry out the experiment for the situation of three-dimension. In order to verify the performance of proposed SVMs, it compares with Back-Propagation algorithm through OpenGL simulation in view of the obstacle recognition accuracy and the time efficiency.

  • Speech with various emotions degrades the performance of the speaker recognition system. In this paper, a speaker recognition method using emotional adaptation has been proposed to improve the performance of speaker recognition system using affective speech. For emotional adaptation, emotional speaker model was generated from speaker model without emotion using a small number of training affective speech and speaker adaptation method. Since it is not easy to obtain a sufficient affective speech for training from a speaker, it is very practical to use a small number of affective speeches in a real situation. The proposed method was evaluated using a Korean database containing four emotions. Experimental results show that the proposed method has better performance than conventional methods in speaker verification and speaker recognition.

As a result, the average score of the recognition and performance of radiologist on the management of hand washing is 4.378, and 4.199 of 5. The average score of the recognition and performance of radiologist on the management of personal hygiene is 4.284, and 3.990 of 5. The recognition of hand washing management according to the general character, statistically significant difference according to the gender, age, education, career. In the performance is statistically significant difference according to the gender, marriage situation. In the recognition of personal hygiene management according to the general character, statistically significant difference according to the age, education, career. Performance of statistically significant difference according to the marriage situation, career. Finally, statistically significant difference between recognition and performance of radiologists on management of hand washing(r=0.453, p=0.000) and personal hygiene(r=0.415, p=0.000).

  • This study investigated preschool children's script knowledge according to task situation and socioeconomic status. Subjects were seventy-eight 5-year-old children (38 low- and 40 middle-income children; 36 boys and 42 girls) recruited from three day-care centers in Seoul. Each child participated in the script knowledge assessment session. Assessment of script knowledge consisted of a picture-recognition and picture-sequencing task. Statistical methods used for data analysis were means, standard deviations, repeated measures ANOVA. Results showed that children's script knowledge scores were higher in familiar task situation than in unfamiliar task situation. Furthermore, middle-income children had higher scores of script knowledge than low-income children. Findings of this study indicate that there is the difference of script knowledge between low- and middle-income preschoolers.

  • In order to recognize a situation from a environment which provides an intelligent service, we propose state-transition based situation modeling which is suitable for a low computing power and restricted resources like embedded systems, and we designed its application to a situation-action converter(SAC)which is consist of two parts; situation detector recognized wanted situations and action generator generated various control actions. Then, we implemented a situation manager for smart scheduler service by using a SAC which is installed to a ARM processor based embedded Linux evaluation board.
