In this study we proposed a simple method for generating multi-site daily rainfall based on the 1-order Markov chain and considering the spatial correlation. The occurrence of rainfall is simulated by a simple 1st-order Markov chain and its intensity to be chosen randomly from the observed data. The spatial correlation between sites could be conserved as the rainfall intensity at each site is to be chosen consistently with the target site in time through generation. It is found that the generated daily rainfall data reproduce genera] characteristics of the observed data such as average, standard deviation, average number of wet and dry days, but the clustering level in time is somewhat loosened. Thus, the lag-I correlation coefficient of the generated data gave smaller value than the observed, also the average lengths of wet run and dry run and the wet-to-wet and dry-to-dry probabilities were a bit less than the observed. This drawback seems to be overcome somewhat by choosing a proper site representing overall basin characteristics or by use of more detailed states of rainfall occurrence.

There are several antenna calibration methods, so-called 3-Antenna Method, Standard Site Method, and Standard Antenna Method which measure the antenna gains or antenna factors. These methods yield the free space or quasi free space antenna gains in only the frequency domain. In this paper, an antenna calibration method using the time domain in the open area test site is discussed. The reflected waves due to the ground are traced in the time domain. After they are removed by the time gating function of network analyzer, the free space transmission coefficient $S_{21}$ is extracted. Such a way is applied to the broad band horn antenna ranging 1 GHz to 18 GHz, and the free space gains are obtained by Friis transmission equation. The method is checked by Standard Site Method in open area test site. The results show comparatively good agreement except for 18 GHz.
$SmCoO_3$ system was investigated for their application to themoelectric materials. All specimens showed p-type semiconducting behavior and their electrical conductivity ($\sigma$), Seebeck coefficient (S) and power factor were measured at high temperature. And the effect of dopant ions on their thermoelectrical properties were also investigated. $Fe^{3+}$ ion doped into $Co^{3+}$ site enhanced the Seebeck coefficient and decreased the electrical conductivity simultaneously. The maximum Seebeck coefficient value for 60% doping case reached to 780 ${\mu}V$/K at $240^{\circ}C$. However $Fe^{3+}$ doped system cause an negative effect on power factor value. In case of the pure phase, the maximum Seebeck coefficient value reached to 290 ${\mu}V$/K at $240^{\circ}C$ and the maximum electrical conductivity was obtained 748 1/(ohm$\times$cm) at $960^{\circ}C$. As a result, the maximum power factor was obtained $1.49\times10^{-4}$ W/$mK^2$ at $550^{\circ}C$.
Vibration data from two blasting sites were analyzed to determine the sufficient sample number for blasting vibration estimation. Most important result is that much more than 30 sample data and succeeding measurement are necessary to estimate confident blasting vibration level and to determine limit scaled distance.

Site coefficients in IBC and KBC codes have some limits to predict the rational seismic responses of a structure, because they take into account only the effect of the soil amplification without the effects of the structure-soil interaction. In this study, upper and lower limits of the site coefficients are estimated through the pseudo 3-D elastic seismic response analyses of structures built on the linear or nonlinear soil layers taking Into account the effects of the structure-soil interaction. Soil characteristics of site classes of A, B and C were assumed to be linear, and those of site classes of D and E were done to be nonlinear and the Ramberg-Osgood model was used to evaluate shear modulus and damping ratio of a soil layer depending on the shear wave velocity of the soil layer, Seismic analyses were performed with 12 weak or moderate earthquake records scaled the peak acceleration to 0.1g or 0.2g and deconvoluted as earthquake records at the bedrock located at 30m deep under the outcrop. With the study results of the elastic seismic response analyses of structures, new standard response spectrum and upper and lower limits of the site coefficients of $F_{a}\;and\;F_{v}$ at the short period range and the period of 1 second are suggested including the effects of the structure-soil interaction, and new site coefficients for the KBC code are also suggested.

BACKGROUND: Pre-harvest interval and decline pattern of thiamethoxam were determined in kiwifruit using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LCMS/MS). The study was carried out to propose import tolerance using OECD maximum residue limit (MRL) calculator for the export promotion of kiwifruit to Taiwan. METHODS AND RESULTS: The thiamethoxam residue in kiwifruit was determined by using the LC-TriQ-MS/MS with the analytical process to set up the import tolerance under greenhouse conditions for Taiwan. Excellent linearity was observed for all of the analytes with a determination coefficient (R2)≥0.99. The limit of quantification was determined to be 0.01 mg/kg for both thiamethoxam and clothianidin in kiwifruit. Linearity was determined from the co-efficient of determinants (R2) obtained from the seven-point calibration curve. The standard calibration curve showed as follows; 1) Site 1 (Gimje): y = 944,406X + 1,583 (R2=0.9995), 2) Site 2 (Goheung): y = 1,356,205X + 934 (R2=0.9983), and 3) Site 3 (Jangheung): y = 1,239,937X - 3,090 (R2=0.9908). The residue of thiamethoxam in the kiwifruit for three decline trials showed the range of 0.35 to 0.56 mg/kg in site 1 (Gimje), 0.24 to 0.55 mg/kg in site 2 (Goheung), and 0.28 to 0.42 mg/kg in site 3 (Jangheung), respectively. However, clothianidin was not detected in all of the treatments. The maximum residual amounts (decline) in the samples, sprayed according to the safe-use standard for thiamethoxam 10% WG in kiwifruit (30 days before harvest, 3 sprays every 7 days) were 0.56 mg/kg in site 1, 0.55 mg/kg in site 2, and 0.42 mg/kg in site 3, respectively. CONCLUSION(S): The import tolerance (IT) of thiamethoxam for kiwifruit may be proposed to be 0.9 mg/kg by using the OECD MRL calculator.
Vibration propagated from seismic sources has damping according to distance and amplification and reduction characteristic in different regions according to topography and geological structure. The vibration propagated from the seismic source to the bedrock is largely affected by the damping according to the separation distance, which can be simply estimated through the damping equation. However, it is important to grasp geological information by location because vibration estimation transmitted to the surface are affected by the natural period of the soil located above the bedrock. Geotechnical investigation data are needed to estimate the seismic intensity based on geological information. If there is no Vs profile, the standard penetration tests are mainly used to determine the soil parameters. The Integrated DB Center of National Geotechnical Information manages the geotechnical survey data performed on the domestic ground, and there is the standard penetration test information of 400,000 holes. In this study, the possibility of quantitation the amplification coefficient for each region was examined to calculated the physical interactive seismic intensity based on geotechnical information. At this time, the shear wave column diagram was generated from the SPT-N value and ground response analysis was performed in the target area. The site coefficients for each zone and the seismic intensity distribution for the seismic motion present a significant difference according to the analysis method and the regional setting.

In this paper, we present a new methodology to analyze the characteristic of artery by using 4 channels photoplethysmograpy. The proposed parameter is a time difference of pulse transit time(PTT) between Pulse waves at finger site and at toe site. To verify the usefulness of the developed system volume pulse waves on 4 sites were measured simultaneously for total 51 normal subjects (male 26 and female 25) aged from 9 to 83 years old. And then correlations between the analysis parameters and age were evaluated by using linear regression analysis method. As the result of experiments, the change of parameter was found according to ages. The result of regression analysis about relationships between the parameter and ages for n=51, the coefficient of correlation of non-normalized data has 0.79770 in left side and 0.80599 in right side and the coefficient of correlation of normalized data by height has 0.81345 in left side and 0.81605 in right side.

Traffic volumes are the important basic data which are directly used for transportation network planning, highway design, highway management and so forth. They are collected by two types of collection methods, one of which is the continuous traffic counts and the other is the short duration traffic counts. The continuous traffic counts are conducted for 365 days a year using the permanent traffic counter and the short duration traffic counts are conducted for specific day(s). In case of the continuous traffic counts the missing of data occurs due to breakdown or malfunction of the counter from time to time. Thus, the diverse imputation methods have been developed and applied so far. In this study the applied exponential smoothing method, in which the data from the days before and after the missing day are used, is proposed and compared with other imputation methods. The comparison shows that the applied exponential smoothing method enhances the accuracy of imputation when the coefficient of traffic volume variation is low. In addition, it is verified that the variation of traffic volume at the site is an important factor for the accuracy of imputation. Therefore, it is necessary to apply different imputation methods depending upon site and time to raise the reliability of imputation for missing traffic values.
In order to clarify the ecological properties of phytoplankton community, the distribution of phytoplankton and the relation of water temperature and size-fractionation measurements were studied from November 2004 to August 2005 in Youngsan River, Korea. A total of 265 phytoplankton species was identified. It consists of 48 genera and 123 species (46%) of Chlorophyceae, 27 genera and 89 species (34%) of Bacillariophyceae, 12 genera and 25 species (9%) of Cyanophyceae, respectively. From size fractionation analysis, nanophytoplankton (2~20 ${\mu}m$) dominated from early spring to early summer, and microphytoplankton (20~200 ${\mu}m$) from summer to winter. The relationship between chl-a and nanophytoplankton showed high correlation coefficient value ($r^2$=0.93) from Najudaegyo site. The correlation coefficient values between water temperature and nanophytoplankton were low except Dongkangdaegyo site which showed high value ($r^2$=0.73).
