This paper proposes an algorithm that remedy Floyd's the tortoise and the hare algorithm (THA) shortcomings which is specialized in singly linked list (SLL), so this algorithm fails to detect the cycle in undirected graph, digraph, and tree with multiple inputs or outputs. The proposed algorithm simply pruning the source and sink with only one edge using cycle detection of single edge node pruning. As a result of the experimental of various list, undirected graph, digraph, and tree, the proposed algorithm can be successively detect the cycle all of them. Thus, the proposed algorithm has the simplest and fastest advantage in the field of cycle detection.
Wireless sensor networks have many sensor nodes which response sudden events in a sensor fields. Some efficient routing protocol is required in a sensor networks with mobile sink node. A data-path template is offered for the data announcement and data request from source node and sink node respectively. Sensed data are transferred from source node to sink node using short-distance calculation. Typical protocols for the wireless networks with mobile sink are TTDD(Two-Tier Data Dissemination) and CBPER(Cluster-Based Power-Efficient Routing). The porposed SPDR(Short-Path Data Routing) protocol in this paper shows more improved energy efficiencies from the result of simulations than the typical protocols.

An experimental study is carried out for an aluminum foam heat sink attached to an isolated heat source to evaluate high potential of aluminum foam as a heat sink with impinging jets. The effects of the pore density and the height of the aluminum foam heat sink, the jet Reynolds number, and the nozzle diameter are delineated in comparison with a conventional pin type heat sink. It is found that the aluminum foam with small pores is inefficient for the heat transfer enhancement due to the large flow friction at the given porosity. In the parameter ranges of the present study, the change in the nozzle diameter shows no significant effects on the surface temperature of the aluminum foam heat sink at a given Reynolds number. The heat transfer enhancement is strongly dependent on the jet Reynolds number and shows a maximum value at a moderate Reynolds number.
In this paper, we introduce a novel mobility model for mobile sinks in which the sinks move towards randomly distributed destinations, where each destination is associated with a mission. The novel mobility model is termed the random mobility with destinations. There have been many studies on mobile sinks; however, they merely support two extreme cases of sink mobility. The first case features the most common and general mobility, with the sinks moving randomly, unpredictably, and inartificially. The other case takes into account mobility only along predefined or determined paths such that the sinks can gather data from sensor nodes with minimum overhead. Unfortunately, these studies for the common mobility and predefined path mobility might not suit for supporting the random mobility with destinations. In order to support random mobility with destination, we propose a new protocol, in which the source nodes send their data to the next movement path of a mobile sink. To implement the proposed protocol, we first present a mechanism for predicting the next movement path of a mobile sink based on its previous movement path. With the information about predicted movement path included in a query packet, we further present a mechanism that source nodes send energy-efficiently their data along the next movement path before arriving of the mobile sink. Last, we present mechanisms for compensating the difference between the predicted movement path and the real movement path and for relaying the delayed data after arriving of the mobile sink on the next movement path, respectively. Simulation results show that the proposed protocol achieves better performance than the existing protocols.
Owing to limited energy in wireless devices power saving is very critical to prolong the lifetime of the networks. In this regard, we designed a cross-layer optimization mechanism based on power control in which source node broadcasts a Route Request Packet (RREQ) containing information such as node id, image size, end to end bit error rate (BER) and residual battery energy to its neighbor nodes to initiate a multimedia session. Each intermediate node appends its remaining battery energy, link gain, node id and average noise power to the RREQ packet. Upon receiving the RREQ packets, the sink node finds node disjoint paths and calculates the optimal power vectors for each disjoint path using cross layer optimization algorithm. Sink based cross-layer maximal minimal residual energy (MMRE) algorithm finds the number of image packets that can be sent on each path and sends the Route Reply Packet (RREP) to the source on each disjoint path which contains the information such as optimal power vector, remaining battery energy vector and number of packets that can be sent on the path by the source. Simulation results indicate that considerable energy saving can be accomplished with the proposed cross layer power control algorithm.

In order to support mobility for sink groups, it is important to get the current location of a mobile sink group and then to offer the location to a source. Typically, previous works calculate a region including all member sinks by flooding; then, it notifies this region information to a source. However, flooding and location updates are periodically performed regardless of the group movement so that it causes considerable control overhead. In this paper, we propose an energy-efficient scheme supporting mobile sink groups. The proposed scheme obtains a location of a group without flooding. It exploits the inherent property of mobile sink groups which could approximate entire group movement by only partial member sinks movement. Also, the scheme learns group location by back-propagation learning method through exploiting overhearing feature in wireless communication environment. Our simulation studies show that the proposed scheme significantly improves in terms of energy consumption compared to the previous work.
In cold water irrigation, some growth and yield were decreased by heavy application of nitrogen but in-creased by heavy application of phosphate, potassium and silicate. Among growth characters, number of spikelets per panicle and grain filling ratio were affected significantly. Cold damage in number of spikelets, spikelet sterility and degeneration of spikelet and branch could be reduced by increasing application amount of phosphate, potassium and in particular silicate. Number of spikelets per branch was closely related with number of spikelets per secondary branches. Number of abortive grains and immature grains had negative correlations with yield and could be reduced by heavy application of phosphate, potassium and silicate. Heavy nitrogen application led to high total nitrogen content and restrained the uptake of phosphate, potassium and silicate. However, adverse results were showed by heavy application of phosphate, potassium and silicate. Inorganic element contents in branches were lower than those in leaf blades, but higher than those in chaff. Branches showed little differences in inorganic element contents between heading stage and maturing stage. Inorganic element contents in branches were considered to be influenced by those in leaf blades and to affect those in chaff. Some growth characters related to source and sink, such as degeneration of branches and spike-lets, sterility ratio, ripening ratio, and yield had closer relationship with nutrient contents in branches than those in leaf blades and chaff. The results demonstrated that the rachis branch not only was a transport pathway of nutrient but also would play an important role in accumulating substances in panicles.
This study is a theoretical bioeconomic analysis to analyze the effectiveness of Marine Protected Area (MPA) implemented in different stock spatial distributions: Closed System, Source-Sink System, and Density-dependent System. In the analysis, an economic impact of vessel activities is also included and a joint effectiveness of MPA and input control is investigated as well. Results of the analysis show that total fisheries stocks are increased in all systems. However, total harvests are decreased when MPA is implemented in the closed system and in the sink patch of source-sink system. On the contrary, total harvests are increased or decreased according to the rate of stock migration and the level of fisheries stocks in the source patch of source-sink system and in the density-dependent system. Specifically, total harvests are increased more significantly as the rate of migration increases and the level of stock increases higher. In addition, the increase in fishing efforts is restricted due to the increase in fishing cost. Therefore, fishing efforts could not be increased greatly in the fishable area. When input control is combined with MPA, the total stocks could be more increased.
The flow and thermal performance of the skiving and louver fin type heat sinks for the cooling system of the small LED projector were experimentally evaluated. A small fan tester based on AMCA standards was used to control and measure the air flow rate into the heat sink. Three heat blocks were used to simulate the heat and light sources(red, green and blue) of the small LED projector. We measured the pressure drop, temperatures and input power at the specific air flow rate and discussed those results. As a result, it is found that the louver fin type heat sink has higher pressure drop and lower thermal resistance than the skiving type. From the comparison of the temperature of the heat block between skiving and louver fin type, the louver fin type heat sink was found to be more suitable for cooling the high power heat source than skiving type. The thermal performance of the fan-sink(louver fin type) system was discussed with the picture taken by a thermal video.

Pseudo-Brayton cycle is defined as an ideal Brayton cycle admitting the difference between heat capacities of working fluid during heating and cooling processes. The endo-pseudo-Brayton cycle which is a pseudo-Brayton cycle with heat transfer processes is analyzed with the consideration of maximum power conditions and the results were compared with those of the endo-Carnot cycle and endo-Brayton cycle. As results, the maximum power is an extremum with respect to the cycle temperature and the flow heat capacities of heating and cooling processes. At the maximum power condition, the heat capacity of the cold side is smaller than that of heat sink flow. And the heat capacity of endo-Brayton cycle is always between those of heat source and sink flows and those of the working fluids of pseudo-Brayton cycle. There is another optimization problem to decide the distribution of heat transfer capacity to the hot and cold side heat exchangers. The ratios of the capacies of the endo-Brayton and the endo-pseudo-Braton cycles at the maximum power condition are just unity. With the same heat source and sink flows and with the same total heat transfer caqpacities, the maximum power output of the Carnot cycle is the least as expected, but the differences among them were small if the heat transfer capacity is not so large. The thermal efficiencies of the endo-Brayton and endo-Carnot cycle were proved to be 1-.root.(T$_{7}$/T$_{1}$) but it is not applicable to the pseudo-Brayton case, instead it depends on comparative sizes of heat capacities of the heat source and sink flow.w.
