Solid Oxide Fuel Cells (SOFCs) have received considerable attention because of the advantages of high effiiciency, low pollution, cogeneration application and excellent integration with simplified reformer In this paper, we reported development of anode-tubular SOFC by wet process. For making tubular cell, Ni-cermet YSZ anode tube was fabricated using extrusion process, and YSZ electrolyte layer and LSM-YSZ composite, LSM, LSCF cathode layer were coated onto the anode supported tube using slurry dipping process and sintered by co-firing process. By using this tubular cell, we fabricated single cell consisted of the various cathode layers and 4 cell stack with an effective area of $75 cm^2$ per single cell, and evaluated their performance characteristics.
For electrode stability and the electrochemical performance of the Li-ion cell, it is essential that the active ingredients and unique additives in the polymer binder be well dispersed with the solvent-based slurry. The efficient procedure used to create the slurry affects the rheological characteristics of the electrode slurry. When successively adding different steps of Nmethyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP) solvent to the cathode composition, it is evenly disseminated. The electrochemical performance of the Li-ion cells and the electrodes made with slurry formed by single step and multiple steps of addition of NMP solvent are examined. To preform rheological properties of cathode electrode slurry on Ni-rich Lithium Nickel-Cobalt-Aluminum Oxide (LiNi0.80Co0.15Al0.05) (NCA). Also, we investigate different step addition of electrode formation and mechanical strength characterization like peel strength. According to the EIS study, a multi-step electrode slurry has lower internal resistance than a single-step electrode slurry, which results in better electrical characteristics and efficiency. Further, microstructure of electrodes is obtained electrochemical performance in the 18650 cylindrical cells with targeted capacity of 1.5 Ah. The slurry of electrodes prepared by single step and multiple steps of addition of NMP solvent and its effect on the fabrication of 1.5 Ah cells. A three-step solvent addition on slurry has been found to be a lower internal resistance than a single-step electrode slurry as confirmed by the EIS analysis, yielding improved electrical properties and efficiency.

In-situ lithiated NiO has been manufactured as a conventional cathode material of molten carbonate fuel cell (MCFC), however this material has a weakness for commercialization of MCFC because NiO is spontaneously dissolved into the electrolyte under MCFC operating conditions, resulting in short circuit between cathode and anode. In this research, therefore, $Co(OH)_2$-coated Ni powder was prepared by precipitation method with controlling pH at low temperature and atmospheric pressure. Modified cathode was fabricated by a conventional tape casting method and sintered at 700$^{\circ}C$ in a $H_2/N_2$ atmosphere, Based on characterization result, Pore size distribution and porosity was suitable for the cathode of MCFC. According to the result of dissolution, Ni solubility of modified cathode was 33% lower than that of conventional cathode. In addition, modified electrode showed a good performance from the single cell operation.

The electrochemically active site of mixed ionic and electronic conductor (MIEC) as a cathode material is restricted to the triple phase boundary in protonic ceramic fuel cells (PCFCs) due to the insufficient of proton-conducting properties of MIEC. This study primarily focused on expanding the electrochemically active site by La0.6Sr0.4Co0.2Fe0.8O3-δ(LSCF6428)-BaZr0.4Ce0.4Y0.1Yb0.1O3-δ (BZCYYb4411) composite cathode. The electrochemical properties of the composite cathode were evaluated using anode-supported PCFC single cells. In comparison to the LSCF6428 cathode, the peak power density of the LSCF6428-BZCYYb4411 composite cathode is much enhanced by the reduction in both ohmic and non-ohmic resistance, possibly due to the increased electrochemically active site.
Layered $LiNi_{0.83}Co_{0.11}Mn_{0.06}O_2$ cathode materials single- and dual-doped by the rare-earth elements Ce and Nd are successfully fabricated by using a coprecipitation-assisted solid-phase method. For comparison purposes, non-doping pristine $LiNi_{0.83}Co_{0.11}Mn_{0.06}O_2$ cathode material is also prepared using the same method. The crystal structure, morphology, and electrochemical performances are characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS) mapping, and electrochemical techniques. The XRD data demonstrates that all prepared samples maintain a typical ${\alpha}-NaFeO_2$-layered structure with the R-3m space group, and that the doped samples with Ce and/or Nd have lower cation mixing than that of pristine samples without doping. The results of SEM and EDS show that doped elements are uniformly distributed in all samples. The electrochemical performances of all doped samples are better than those of pristine samples without doping. In addition, the Ce/Nd dual-doped cathode material shows the best cycling performance and the least capacity loss. At a 10 C-rate, the electrodes of Ce/Nd dual-doped cathode material exhibit good capacity retention of 72.7, 58.5, and 45.2% after 100, 200, and 300 cycles, respectively, compared to those of pristine samples without doping (24.4, 11.1, and 8.0%).
Newly structured metal-supported solid oxide fuel cell was fabricated and characterized by impedance analysis and galvanodynamic experiment. Using a cermet adhesive, thin ceramic layer composed of anode(Ni/YSZ) and electrolyte(YSZ) was joined with STS430 metal support of which flow channel was fabricated. $La_{0.8}Sr_{0.2}Co_{0.4}Mn_{0.6}O_3$ perovskite oxide was used as cathode material. Single cell performance was increased and saturated at operating time to 300hours at 800$^{\circ}C$ because of cathode sintering effect. The sintering effect was reinvestigated by half cell test and exchange current density was measured as 0.005A/$cm^2$. Maximum power density of the cell was 0.09W/$cm^2$ at 800$^{\circ}C$. Numerical analysis was carried out to classify main factors influencing the single cell performances. Compared to experimental IV curve, simulated curve based on experimental parameters such as exchange current density was in good agreement.

We have fabricated single organic layer devices of the organolanthanide complex, terbium tris-(1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-(tertiarybutyry)pyrazol-5-one)triphenylphosphine oxide [$(tb-PMP)_{3}Tb-(Ph_{3}PO)$] for the investigation of its light emission and electrical conduction properties. The thickness of ($(tb-PMP)_{3}Tb-(Ph_{3}PO)$) layer was varied to 60, 75, 95 nm. Mg and Ca layers were used for the cathode contact. The electrical conduction in the $(tb-PMP)_{3}Tb-(Ph_{3}PO)$ single layer devices was dominated by the injection of electrons into the organic layer from the cathode. A higher current density at much lower voltages can be attained with Ca cathode because of the enhanced electron injection. The device shows very sharp emission at 548 nm. The FWHM of the strongest emission peak was 12 nm.
We fabricated single cells with a cathode consisting of a $LaNi_{0.6}Fe_{0.4}O_3-Ce_{0.8}Sm_{0.2}O_{1.9}$ composite (LNF-S20DC composite) active layer and an LNF current collecting layer on a ${0.89ZrO_2}-{0.10Sc_2}{O_3}-0.01{Al_2}{O_3}$ electrolyte sheet. The cathode layers were prepared by the screen-printing method. The cathode properties of these cells were measured by the AC impedance method at $800^{\circ}C$. The cathodes with the ceria-LNF composite active layer exhibited high power performance prior to current loading. We investigated the influence of the mixture ratio of LNF and S20DC on the cathodes properties. The Sm in the ceria particles of the composite cathode was substituted with other rare-earth elements. Cathodes with Pr and Gd co-doped ceria in the active layer provided the better performance than those with Sm- or Gd-doped ceria.

The composition and the microstructure of the Sn-Ni alloy electrodeposited in pyrophosphate bath were investigated according to the electrolysis conditions. The cathode current efficiency increased with the addition of $NH_4CI$ and glycine, while it decreased with the increase of current density. The Sn content of the alloy deposits increased with the increase of $NH_4CI$ in the bath. The alloys with 51~71wt.% Sn had the NiSn single phase structure. The preferred orientation of the single phase alloys changed from (110) to (110)+(101) with the increase of current density and cathode overpotential. The single phase alloys with 50~60wt.%Sn had the smooth surface structure with fine crystallite, while the multiphase alloys showed the surface structure with crystal size and cracks at high curret density.
This paper shows that inlet humidity condition at cathode side is one of dominant parameters affecting the performance of PEMFC. To investigate effects of inlet humidity condition, the performance measurements were conducted for a single PEMFC with two operating variables : cathode relative humidity and dry condition in anode dry. The fuel cell employed for the experiments is a unit PEMFC with a 25$Cm^2$, Nafion$^(R)$112 membrane. As a result of this study, the cell performance is getting higher by increasing inlet humidity condition at cathode side. The cell performance is different from each operating temperature an it has maximum30% higher than dry condition at 60$^{\circ}C$ operating temperature with 80% relative humidity.
