A Study for Efficient Methods of System Calibration between Optical and Range Sensors by Using Simulation (시뮬레이션을 통한 광학 및 레인지 센서 간의 효율적인 시스템 캘리브레이션 설계)

  • The study planned to suggest the efficient methods of system calibration between the range and optical sensors. The simulation was performed by considering i) design of test-bed, ii) mathematical methods of system calibration and iii) locations of the sensors. The test-bed was designed by considering specifications of the range and optical sensors. Also, the error levels of each sensor were considered in the process of simulation with dataset, which was generated under these predetermined conditions. The system calibration was carried out by using the simulated dataset in two different approaches, which are single photo resection and bundle adjustment. The results from the simulation determined that the bundle adjustment method is more efficient than the single photo resection in the system calibration between range and optical sensors. For the better results, we have used the data, obtained in various locations. In a conclusion, the most efficient case was in sequence of i) the bundle adjustment with ii) the simulated dataset, which were obtained between 2m to 4m away from the test-bed.

The Tip-Tilt Correction System in AO System for Small Telescope

  • We are developing Adaptive Optics (AO) system for 24 inch telescope at Seoul National University Observatory. It consists of the tip-tilt correction system and the residual wavefront error correction system with a deformable mirror and a wavefront sensor. We present the construction and performance measurements of the tip-tilt correction system. The tip-tilt component is the single largest contributor to wavefront error, especially for small telescope. The tip-tilt correction system consists of a quadrant photodiode, a tip-tilt mirror and a feed back loop. The collimated He-Ne laser beam is used for input light source and is artificially disturbed by air turbulence generated by a heat gun. Most of the turbulence is of low frequency less than 20 Hz, but extends to a few hundreds Hz. It is found that the closed loop system using proportional-integral-derivative (PID) control successfully corrects tip-tilt error at a rate as high as 300~400 Hz.

  • In this paper, we propose a system that automatically assigns user's experience-based emotion tags from wearable sensor data collected in real life. Four types of emotional tags are defined considering the user's own emotions and the information which the user sees and listens to. Based on the collected wearable sensor data from multiple sensors, we have trained a machine learning-based tagging system that combines the known auxiliary tools from the existing affective computing research and assigns emotional tags. In order to show the usefulness of this multi-modality-based emotion tagging system, quantitative and qualitative comparison with the existing single-modality-based emotion recognition approach are performed.

  • Due to its high conductivity, pyrylium has been frequently used in electron transfer reactions or in the synthesis of various organic materials. It has also been used as a sensor material. Traditionally, the compounds have been synthesized using various methods; mostly in a multiple steps. In this study, two pyrylium salts, 2, 6-di-(4'-methylphenyl) pyrylium fluoroborate and perchlorate were synthesized. The synthesis of these products was confirmed by 1H-NMR, LC/TOF-MS and FT-IR analyses while their photo-properties were analyzed using UV/VIS spectrophotometry. In addition, the electron transfer capacities of the salts were analyzed with a conductivity meter, it was found that their electron conductivities were high. When the synthesized compounds were dissolved in acetone, a green fluorescent material was observed to form. The fluorescent material can be used as a sensitizer in the electrical industry.

  • In this paper, we present design and developing method for EMS(environment monitoring system) of micro data center. This developing EMS monitors operating environment of micro data center and analyze sensing data through IoT(Internet of things) sensors in real time. Firstly we present configuration method of IoT sensing package and design method EMS hardware platform. Secondly we design data collector software for data collection of IoT sensor with different protocol and develop monitoring software of EMS. The data collector software consists of sensor collector module and collector manager module. Also we design EMS software which has micro service architecture structural style and component based business logic.

  • This study presents the results of designing a system that determines the location of a person in an indoor environment based on a single IMU sensor attached to the tip of a person's shoe in an area where GPS signals are inaccessible. By adjusting for human footfall, it is possible to accurately determine human location and trajectory by correcting errors originating from the Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) combined with advanced machine learning algorithms. Although there are various techniques to identify stepping, our study successfully recognized stepping with 98.7% accuracy using an artificial intelligence model known as Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM). Drawing upon the enhancements in our methodology, this article demonstrates a novel technique for generating a 200-meter trajectory, achieving a level of precision marked by a 2.1% error margin. Indoor pedestrian navigation systems, relying on inertial measurement units attached to the feet, have shown encouraging outcomes.

  • 본 논문에서는 싱글전류센서를 이용하여 브러시리스 직류 전동기의 속도제어시스템 시뮬레이션 방법 및 그 결과을 제시한다. BLDC 전동기 제어에 매우 중요한 역할을 가지고 있는 피드백 센서 방식으로 싱글 전류검출센서를 이용한 속도제어 방법은 모터 설계의 비용을 낮추고, 심플한 제어기 설계를 가능하게 한다. 또한, 전동기에 손상을 줄 수 있는 오류조건을 감지함으로서 신뢰성을 향상시켜 줄 수 있다. 시뮬레이션에 사용하는 BLDC 전동기는 3상 Y결선 전동기를 모델로 하며 MATLAB/SIMULINK를 사용한 시뮬레이션을 수행하여 그 성능을 분석하였다.

  • This paper presents a control law of multiple actuation servo systems. Multiple actuation systems have an ability to solve some difficult engineering problems; Coulomb friction, backlash, and disturbance. This fact is shown by basic experiments as well as theoretical analysis. The proposed control strategy remarkably improves the performance comparing with conventional single actuation systems.

  • This paper proposes an system to generate rolled-equivalent fingerprints by mosaicking sequential images captured by an toothless device. To capture rolled-equivalent fingerprints, previous works use multiple cameras. However, the method in this paper captures sequential fingerprint images with a single camera and mosaic the images by estimating the transform between images through optical flow.

  • A high speed optic scanner capable of 16 frames/sec imaging has been developed for the realization of the infrared thermal Imaging system with a single element infrared sensor. The high speed optic scanner is composed of a rotating polygon mirror for horizontal scanning, a flat mirror mounted on a galvanometer for vertical scanning, and a spherical mirror. It has been experimentally found that the optic scanner is capable of 16 framesllsec imaging with the frame matrix size of 256 x 64.
