The electronic absorption and surface morphology evolution of two types of molecular double layer thin films, copper phthalocyanine (CuPc) layer deposited on chloro[subphthalocyaninato]boron(III) (SubPc) layer, denoted as SubPc/CuPc, and vice versa, with various thicknesses were investigated using ultraviolet (UV)-visible spectroscopy and atomic force microscopy (AFM). Both types of double layer structures showed similar broadened absorption patterns in the UV-visible region that were consistent with the fitted spectra following simple linear combination of the single layer absorption spectra of the two materials. In contrast, the surface morphology of double layer structures was dependent on the order of deposition. For the CuPc/SubPc structures, surface morphology was characterized by elongated grains, which are characteristic of SubPc thin films, indicating that the morphological influence of the underlying CuPc layer on the subsequent SubPc layer was not large. For the SubPc/CuPc structures, however, the underlying SubPc layer acted as a morphological template for the subsequently deposited CuPc layer. It was also observed that the grain size of the CuPc layer varied according to the thickness of the underlying SubPc layer.
A helical probe test (HPT) suitable for in.situ soil exploration to a shallow depth and compaction control were developed and tested in different soils alongside traditional in-situ tests, including Standard Penetration Test (SPT), Cone Penetration Test (CPT) and in-situ density test. The helical probe test is economical and can be performed by a single person. The torque necessary to insert the probe Is used as a measure of soil characteristics. It was found that: the HPT test correlates well with the SPT test and the correlation is not sensitive to the soil type; the HPT test correlates well with the CPT test, but the correlation is sensitive to the soil type; the HPT torque provides a sensitive measure of relative compaction rind in-situ dry density of compacted soils; the reverse torque ratio decreases with increasing average grain sloe.
Polysilicon on insulator has been recrystallized by zone melting recrystallization method with graphite strip heaters. Experiments are performed with non-seed SOI structures. When the capping layer thickness of Si$\_$3/N$\_$4//SiO$\_$2/ is 2.0.mu.m, grain boundaries are about 120.mu.m spacing and protrusions reduced. After the seed SOI films are annealed at 1100.deg. C in NH$\_$3/ ambient for 3 hours, the recrystallized silicon surface has convex shape. After ZMR process, the tensile stress is 2.49*10$\^$9/dyn/cm$\^$2/ and 3.74*10$\^$9/dyn/cm$\^$2/ in the seed edge and seed center regions. The phenomenon of convex shape and tensile stress difference are completely eliminated by using the PSG/SiO$\_$2/ capping layer. The characterization of SOI films are showed that the SOI films are improved in wetting properties. N channel SOI MOSFET has been fabricated to investigate the electrical characteristics of the recrystallized SOI films. In the 0.7.mu.m thickness SOI MOSFET, kink effects due to the floating substrate occur and the electron mobility was calculated from the measured g$\_$m/ characteristics, which is about 589cm$\^$2//V.s. The recrystallized SOI films are shown to be a good single crystal silicon.

In this study, we have constructed this algorithm that theoretical method for prediction performance of the internal ballastic analysis. And we have confirmed reliability, compared the value calculated by realized program with the value computed by modeling program. A basic concept of algorithm expresses combustion phenomenon to move each factor(node) according to the time increment like as Finite element method. And we have confirmed this realized program has sufficient possibility to utilize in the internal ballastic analysis.
The magnetic thin films can be prepared without vacuum process and under the low temperature(<100 $^{\circ}C$) by ferrite plating. We have performed ferrite plating of $Ni_xFe_{3-x}O_4$ (x=0.162~0.138) films on cover glass at the substrate temperature 80 $^{\circ}C$ and pH range of the oxidizing solution, 7.1~8.8. the crystal structure of the samples has been identified as a single phase of polycrystal spinel structure by x-ray diffraction technique. The deposition rate and the grain size of the film increased with the pH of oxidizing solution. The coercive force (H_C)$ decreased with the pH of oxidizing solution.

An unique ceramic material produced through unidirectional solidification with eutectic composition of two-phase oxides was introduced recently. This composite material has the microstructure of coupled networks of two single crystals interpenetrate each other without grain boundaries. Depending on this microstructure this material, called Melt Growth Composite (MGC), can sustain its room temperature strength up to 1$700^{\circ}C$ (near its melting point) and offer strong oxidization-resistant ability, making its characteristics quite ideal for the gas turbine application. The research project on MGC started in 2001 with the objective of establishing component technologies for MGC application to the high temperature components of the gas turbine engine. MGC turbine nozzles are expected to improve efficiency of gas turbine. However, reduction of the thermal stress is required since high thermal stress is easily generated in MGC turbine nozzles due to temperature distribution. Firstly, the hollow nozzle shape was optimized to reduce thermal stress using numerical analysis. From the results of the first hot gas flow tests, the thermal stress due to span-wise temperature distribution was required to be reduced, and separated nozzle to three pieces was designed. This was tested in hot gas flow at 140$0^{\circ}C$ level, and temperature distributions on the nozzle surface were obtained and stress field was evaluated.

Dielectric and piezoelectric properties of Lead-free $(1-x)(Bi_{0.5}K_{0.5})TiO_3-xBiFeO_3$ceramics prepared by a conventional solid state reaction method were investigated in the range of x = 0~10 mol%. Piezoelectric coefficient was increased from 31 pC/N at x = 0 mol% to 64 pC/N at x = 6 mol% then decreased with increasing x. Electromechanical coupling factor ($K_p$) was increased up to 0.18 at x = 10 mol%. On the other hand, mechanical quality factor ($Q_m$) was decreased. Grain size was not much changed with various x and a single perovskite with tetragonal symmetry was maintained at all compositions forming a solid solution between $(Bi_{0.5}K_{0.5})TiO_3$ and $BiFeO_3$. Depolarization temperature ($T_d$) was gradually decreased with increasing x from $302^{\circ}C$ at x = 0 to $245^{\circ}C$ at x = 10 mol%.
The segregation of S in electrotransport-purified polycrystaline $\alpha$-Ti and Ti-aluminide alloys has been studied by Auger electron spectroscopy(AES), Ion scattering spectroscopy(ISS) and Secondary ion mass spectrometry(SIMS) in the temperature range extending from 20 to $1000^{\circ}C$. The chemisorbed oxygen and carbon on Ti were observed to disappear at T>$400^{\circ}C$ after which the S signal increased to levels approaching 0.5 monolayer. At lower temperatures the presence of the surface oxygen and carbon appeared to inhibit the segregation, presumably because there were no available surfaces sites for the S emerging from the bulk. The activation energy for the S segregation in pure polycrystaline Ti was determined to be 16.7 kcal/mol, which, when compared to S segretation from single-crystal Ti, is quite small and suggests grain boundary or defect diffusion segregation kinetics. In the Ti-aluminide alloys, the presence of Al appeared to enhance the retention of surface oxygen which, in turn, substantially reduced the S segretation. The $\gamma$ alloy, with its high Al content, exhibited the greatest retention of surface oxygen and the smallest quantity of the S segregation(T$\simeq1000^{\circ}C$).
Non sticky short grain rice was liquidized by ${\alpha}-amylase$ from Bacillus species after cooking 20min at $121^{\circ}C$ and a lactic acid bacteria fermentation proceeded. The product using mixed culture of S. thermophilus, L. bulgaricus and L. plantarum was superior than the one of any single or mixed culture. The most acceptable pH of it was 3.70. It is suggested that L. plantarum is more deeply related to the product quality. Skim milk promoted lactic acid fermentation but the quality of the final product was not acceptable in the result of sensory evaluation. The acceptable dilution rate of final product was 1:3 (rice: water) by weight.
[ $TiO_2$ ]ACF composites were prepared by the electrochemical method with Titanium (IV) n-butoxide (TNB) electrolyte under different electrochemical operation time. The BET surface area for $TiO_2$/ACF composites decrease with the increase of electrochemical operation time. There is a single crystal structure which is anatase in all of the samples from the data of XRD. The SEM micrphotographs of $TiO_2$/ACF composites show that the $TiO_2$ particles were well mixed with the ACF. There are O and P with strong C and Ti peaks in all samples from EDX results, and it also shows that a decrease of the C content with a increasing of Ti content with increasing of the electrochemical operation time in the over all composites. DSC cures show that the exothermic peak of all composites at $560^{\circ}C$ represents the transformation heat of amorphous parts to anatase phase and the discontinuous grain growth of the transformed anatase particles. Finally, the excellent photoactivity of $TiO_2$/ACF composites (especially, ACFT10) could be attributed that the decrease of concentration of MB can be concluded to be much faster for the adsorption by ACF than for photocatalytic decomposition by $TiO_2$.
