Two-plane Hull Girder Stress Monitoring System for Container Ship

  • Hull girder stress monitoring system for container ship uses four long-base-strain-gages at mid-ship to monitor the resultant stresses and the applied moment components of horizontal, vertical and torsional moments. The bending moments are estimated by using the conventional strain-moment relations, however, the torsional moment related to the warping strain requires the assumption of the shape of torsional moments over the hull girder. Though this shape could be a sine function with an adequate period, it largely depends upon certain empirical formulas. This paper introduces additional four long-base-strain-gages at mid-ship to derive the longitudinal slope of the warping strain because this slope is directly related to the torsional moment by Bi-moment concept. An open-channel-type cantilever beam has been selected as a simplified model for container ship and the result has proved that the suggested concepts can estimate the torsional component accurately. Finally this method can become reliable technique to derive all external moments in hull girder stress monitoring system for container ships.

THE FAST TRUNCATED LAGRANGE METHOD FOR IMAGE DEBLURRING WITH ANTIREFLECTIVE BOUNDARY CONDITIONS

  • In this paper, under the assumption of the symmetry point spread function, antireflective boundary conditions(AR-BCs) are considered in connection with the fast truncated Lagrange(FTL) method. The FTL method is proposed as an image restoration method for large-scale ill-conditioned BTTB(block Toeplitz with Toeplitz block) and BTHHTB(block Toeplitz-plus-Hankel matrix with Toeplitz-plus-Hankel blocks) linear systems([13, 17]). The implementation and efficiency of the FTL method in the AR-BCs are further illustrated. Especially, by employing the AR-BCs, both the continuity of the image and the continuity of its normal derivative are preserved at the boundary. A reconstructed image with less artifacts at the boundary is obtained as a result.

원자력 발전소의 해일 차단용 댐퍼 개발을 위한 수치해석 (Numerical Analysis on the Development of Shut off Damper for a Tsunami at a Nuclear Plant)

  • The purpose of this study was to predict the load effect on a damper installed at a nuclear power plant building after a tsunami using a volume of fluid (VOF) numerical analysis method. The wave height was determined by a sine wave function and the tsunami condition was estimated by the wave length. Also, using computational fluid dynamics (CFD), the maximum damper load was set as a boundary condition for the structural analysis that verified how stress and deformation affect the damper. As a result, such simulations estimated the highest stress distribution for a wave length of 350 m with a maximum stress present at the cross point of stiffness installed at the rear end of the damper. The total deformation was approximately 32 mm at the center of damper.

  • In this paper, a springboard for diving is analysed to find out how much force a diver should apply to reach specific height when the diver jumps. The springboard is presumed to Co-rotational plane cantilever beam(CR-beam), so EDISON program related to Co-rotational framework is used. The force of the person is supposed to sine function and the demanded height is fixed. Same velocity makes same height regardless of diver's weight. So, the velocity of springboard when the feet of a diver are separated from the springboard is a main factor of the analysis. The result shows that there is no association between deformation and weight and also between velocity and weight. That is, the required force to reach a optimal height is fixed whatever the diver's weight is.

  • This Paper Presents a learning strategy for neural networks based on genetic algorithms and evolution strategies. Genetic algorithms and evolution strategies are used to train weights of feedforward neural network to solve problems faster than neural network, especially backpropagation. Simulations are performed exclusive-OR problem, full-adder problem, sine function generator to demonstrate the effectiveness of neural-GA-ES.

벽에 의한 공간 이미지 변화에 관한 연구 (A Study on Spatial Image Transformation by the Wall)

  • This study aims to understand the meaning of 'wall' and spatial image transformation by the wall. To find the meaning of wall, some classical works and modern works - Le Corbusier's Domino system and Schroder House-are analyzed into functional aspect of wall, in result we know that wall has of evolved throughout history to become an Increasingly active component of our built environment. Whereas the wall permits variations in the human and natural environment, the wall could be changed a lot of different shapes. The results of this study are as follows; (1) Applying new attempt to the wall makes interactivity in spatial elements. (2) Through rotation of the wall, we find the periodicity of wall length with sine curve. (3) Wall made by points and linear elements can change the spatial image, because of there geometrical characteristics.

  • The Bernstein polynomial is one of the classic algorithms of panoramic images mosaic for shading into process applying in Virtual Reality modeling. Nevertheless, it is proven that the algorithm has its own limitation and weakness in applications. This paper was given the improved algorithm using Sinusoidal function for image mosaic. In order to put the new algorithm into image processing software as a flexible and general tool, it was further developed an extension for graduation image fusion and multi-images mosaic.

  • DSPs used at motor control are usually fixed point processor. They need scaling because they cannot excute floating point calculation. Scaling for floating point calculation makes the DSP's speed down, complex coding and etc. Therefore the IQ math is adopted. IQ math makes the fixed point processor possible to calculate the floating point math. In addition, IQ math can reduce memory usage and be more faster than that without IQ math. It seems that IQ math is appropriate in motor position control. In comparison of the position calculation between the IQ math, math function and the sine table, the method using IQ math is superior than other methods.

휨 또는 쪼갬인장 반복하중을 받는 콘크리트의 신뢰성 해석과 피로모델 제안 (Reliability Analysis and Fatigue Models of Concrete under Flexural or Split Tensional Cyclic Loadings)

  • 본 논문에서는 일정진폭 휨인장 및 쪼갬인장 반복하중을 받는 콘크리트의 피로신뢰성과 모델제안을 위하여 도로포장에 사용되는 콘크리트를 대상으로 연구하였다. 실험데이터는 2-모수 Weibull 확률분포함수를 사용하여 신뢰성 해석을 수행하였고, 적합도 검정을 통하여 이를 기반으로 한 모델을 제시하였다. 피로실험은 $150 mm{\times}75 mm$ 시험체의 쪼갬인장피로 실험방법과 $150 mm{\times}150 mm{\times}550 mm$ 시험체의 휨인장피로 실험방법을 적용였으며 일정 진폭 피로하중에 대하여 수행하였다. 두 가지의 실험방법에 대하여 응력 수준 90, 80, $70\%$로 변화하여 실험하고 이때 적용한 응력비는 0.1, 하중재하속도 20Hz, 정현파(sine)를 적용하였다. 연구결과 콘크리트 피로데이터의 분산성으로 인하여 보다 정확한 해석을 위해 두 가지의 해석 기준을 설정하여 제시하였으며, 그래픽방법, 모멘트방법 및 최우도법에 의해 2-모수 Weibull의 매개변수 $\alpha$와 u를 계산하고 이를 이용하여 확률밀도함수(P.D.F)와 누적분포함수(C.D.F)를 도시하였다. 또한, Weibull의 확률분포함수를 이용한 신뢰성 해석은 Kolmogorov-Smirnov의 방법을 사용하여 $5\%$의 유의수준에서 적합도 검정을 수행한 결과 채택되는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 해석에 기초하여 쪼갬인장피로실험과 휨인장피로 실험에 대한 피로모델을 제시하고 응력수준에 따른 피로수명과 200만회 및 1,000만회에서의 피로강도를 산정하여 제시하였으며 국외의 주요 피로모델과 비교하였다.

  • 본 연구는 교육적 의도를 가지고 학문적인 지식을, 가르칠 지식으로 변형하는 일, 즉 지식의 교수학적 변환(didactical transposition)에 관한 것으로서, 제 7차 교육과정에 따라 개편된 13종의 10-나 수학 교과서에서 삼각함수 단원의 내용 배열순서 및 설명방식을 분석하고 그 결과, 교수법적 어려움과 서술의 논리성 및 학생의 이해를 함께 고려할 때, 나타나는 교수학적 변환의 어려움은 무엇이며 이를 위한 대안적 교수학적 변환의 방법이나 실제적인 어려움 해소 방안은 무엇인가를 생각해 보았다. 이를 위해 13종의 수학교과서 10-나 단계 삼각함수 단원의 설명방식의 차이를 위주로 비교 분석하고, 그 결과를 최근의 교수법 이론과 암묵적으로 비교하여 새 교수법의 적용 가능성을 높이는데 개연적이나마 도움이 되리라고 예상되는 대안적 내용서술 지도방안(부채꼴, 삼각함수의 그래프, 성질, 주기, 사인법칙에 대한 내용을 위주로)을 제안하였다.
