  • The objective of the interoperation of L-V-C Simulation is to enable practical integration training by taking advantages and compensating disadvantages of simulation models, such as Live, Virtual and Constructive models. As a study on the interoperation of L-V-C simulation, this paper suggests effective interoperation method between Virtual and Constructive simulation models and demonstrates small-size intagrated combat training model through V-C Test-Bed.

  • A small-break loss of coolant accident (SB-LOCA) test with a break size equivalent to a 3-inch cold leg break of the APR1400 was carried out as the first transient integral effect test using the ATLAS (Advanced Thermal-hydraulic Test Loop for Accident Simulation). This was the first integral effect test to investigate the integral performance of the test facility and to verify its simulation capability for one of the design-basis accidents. Reasonably good thermal hydraulic data was obtained so that an integral performance of the fluid sub-systems was identified and control performance of the ATLAS was confirmed under real thermal hydraulic conditions. Based on the measured data, a post-test calculation was carried out using the best-estimate thermal hydraulic safety analysis code, MARS 3.1, and the similarity between the expected and actual data was investigated. On the whole, the post-test calculation reasonably predicts the major thermal hydraulic parameters measured during the SB-LOCA test. The obtained data will be used to enhance the simulation capability of the ATLAS and to improve an input model of the ATLAS for simulation of other target scenarios.

  • Fault simulation is often necessary to determine the fault coverage of a given test, that is, to find all the faults detected by test. In this paper we implement a deductive fault simulation using counting method. Counting method uses f$\sub$i/ of fault table and Search list to compute set operation. f$\sub$i/ was counted by fault list of input gate. And we propagate fault list from primary inputs toward primary output by comparing with controling sum. It improved performance by reducing search of faults.

  • This paper describes the development of training simulator for Hadong fossil Power Plant. The simulator was developed to train operator, test new control Logic and evaluate alternative operating procedure for expert engineer of control system. The most control logics such as Siemens TELEPERM ME and GE Mark V are translated directly from microprocessors. Those HMI are also directly emulated. The simulation was performed by ProTRAX modeling software. The paper discusses the configuration of simulator and the simulation results of 30%, 50%, 75% and 100% normal rate load test.

  • A sine with dwell test is well known as a test scenario for evaluation of performance of electronic stability control(ESC) on passenger vehicles and heavy commercial vehicles. However, when it comes to ESC for medium commercial vehicles, the test scenario has not been established yet. In this paper, the sine with dwell test was modified considering characteristics of medium commercial vehicles. The three main modifications of the original test scenario are the steering angle level, steering frequency, and loading condition of the vehicle. These modifications are derived from simulation study for different medium commercial vehicles. From simulation study, it was shown that the ESC system for medium commercial vehicle is objectively evaluated by the proposed test scenario. A clear improvement on vehicle stability was seen in the results when ESC system was used.

  • There are many situations in which the well-known tests such as log-rank test and Gehan-Wilcoxon test fail to detect the survival differences. Assuming large samples, these tests are developed asymptotically normal properties. Thus, they shall be called asymptotic tests in this paper, Several asymptotic tests sensitive to some specific types of survival differences have been recently proposed. This paper compares by simulations the test levels and the powers of the conventional asymptotic tests and their random permutation versions. Simulation studies show that the random permutation tests possess competitive powers compared to the corresponding asymptotic tests, keeping exact test levels even in the small sample case. It also provides the guidelines for choosing the valid and most powerful test under the given situation.

  • In this paper, a depth-based nonparametric test for a multivariate two-sample scale problem is proposed. The proposed test statistic is based on the depth-induced ranks and is thus distribution-free. In this article, the depth values of data points of one sample are calculated with respect to the other sample or distribution and vice versa. A comprehensive simulation study is used to examine the performance of the proposed test for symmetric as well as skewed distributions. Comparison of the proposed test with the existing depth-based nonparametric tests is accomplished through empirical powers over different depth functions. The simulation study admits that the proposed test outperforms existing nonparametric depth-based tests for symmetric and skewed distributions. Finally, an actual life data set is used to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed test.

  • This paper discusses the simulation and LI(light impulse) test of the shieldless vacuum interrupter concept. The shields of vacuum interrupter play an important role in absorbing the metal vapor. But shield distort the electric field distribution of inner vacuum interrupter. Therefore, the insulation efficiency will improve. if shield of vacuum interrupter inside does not exist. As a result, FEM simulation show that improve distribution of electrical field and equi-potential line. But LI test result dissimilar to FEM simulation result. Shieldless vacuum interrupter model lower BIL(breakdown impulse light) than vacuum interrupter have installed shield. Because conditioning process occurred metal vapor. This paper compared that FEM analysis and LI test of installed shield model and shieldless model.

  • The HANARO, multi-purpose research reactor, 30 MWth open-tank-in-pool type, is under 24 MWth of power operation since it reached to the initial critical in February, 1995. Many useful experiments should be safely performed to activate the utilization of the HANARO, but there is a radioactive risk of using the HANARO. To reduce the risk, a test facility, which is not reacted by nuclear fuel, is being developed to simulate similar flow characteristics with the HANARO. This paper describes the computational flow analysis to determine each shape of simulating fuels for simulating the flow similarities of 36 elements hexagonal fuels assembly and 18 elements circulating fuels assembly loaded in HANARO. The shares of orifices were determined by the trial and error method and the structural integrities of them were verified by the finite element method assuming that the flow rate and pressure differences of reactor core are constant. The analysis results will be verified with the results of the flow test to be performed after the installation of this test facility.

  • Recently, virtual test laboratory techniques have been widely used to reduce vehicle development costs and time. In this study, a virtual durability test process using multibody dynamics simulation and fatigue simulation is proposed. The flexible multibody model of the front half of a car suspension is solved using road loads that are measured from durability test courses such as a Belgian road. To verify the simulation results, the measured loads of components and simulation results are collated.
