간편법에 의한 소규모저수지의 수문학적 안전성 평가 (Hydrologic Safety Evaluation of Small Scale Reservoir by Simplified Assesment Method)

  • Based on the statistical annual report, there are 17,649 reservoirs are operating for the purpose of agricultural water supply in Korea. 58 % of entire agricultural reservoirs had been constructed before 1948 which indicate the termination of required service life and rest of those reservoirs have also exposed to the dam break risk by extreme flood event caused by current ongoing climate change. To prevent damages from dam failure accident of these risky small size dams, it is necessary to evaluate and manage the structural and hydrological safety of the reservoirs. In this study, a simplified evaluation method for hydrologic safety of dam is suggested by using Rational and Creager formula. Hydrologic safety of small scale dams has evaluated by calculating flood discharge capacity of the spillway and compares the results with design frequency of each reservoir. Applicability and stability of suggested simplified method have examined and reviewd by comparing the results from rainfall-runoff modeling with dam break simulation using HEC-HMS. Application results of developed methodology for three sample reservoirs show that simplified assessment method tends to calculate greater inflow to the reservoirs then HEC-HMS model which lead lowered hydrologic safety of reservoirs. Based on the results of application, it is expected that the developed methodology can be adapted as useful tool for small scale reservoir's hydrologic safety evaluation.

상수도 관로의 물리적 상태평가 기준 개선 (Improvement of Physical Condition Assessment in Water Mains)

  • 상수도시설은 운영관리 환경, 사용범위, 빈도 등 특성에 따라 수명이 달라지며, 현행 법률에서 일률적으로 정하고 있는 내용연수와 차별된 접근이 필요함에 따라, 시설의 파손, 보수이력 등 관리현황 및 시설의 경시적인 변화 상태를 조사 분석하여 기술적 판단을 토대로 한 수명평가 방안이 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 국내외 내용연수 적용현황과 시설별 내용연수 산정 방안, 외국의 상수도시설물 관리 방법, 기존 관로 상태평가 기준 수립을 위한 현황 등을 조사하고, 매설 상수관로에 현장조사를 수행하여, 상수관로의 물리적인 파손위험성과 사고이력을 기반으로 경제적 가치 기준에 의한 잔존수명 평가 기법을 개발하였다. 또한 기존 우리 공사의 노후도 기법을 물리적인 노후진척에 따른 상태변화와 실측 데이터를 활용하여 통계적인 분석을 통하여 평가항목은 축소하고, 신뢰도는 제고하였으며, 관 상태평가를 통해서 합리적인 개량계획 수립을 추진할 수 있도록 관상태평가 가이드라인을 개발하였다.

경북 지역 먹는 물의 은 검출 특성 (Silver Contamination in Drinking Water of Gyeongbuk Area in Korea)

  • 나노물질에 대한 연구와 산업화가 급격히 진행되면서 수환경으로 유출되는 나노물질의 양도 점차 많아지고 있다. 특히 은나노물질의 경우 은의 항균성으로 인하여 다양한 분야에서 사용되고 있으며 환경으로 유출되어 입자상태와 용해된 상태로 존재할 수 있다. 은나노물질과 은이온은 생태환경에 악영향을 줄 수 있으며 미국에서는 2차 먹는물 규제 항목(secondary drinking water standards)으로 정하고 있으며 규제농도는 0.1 mg/L로 정하여 관리하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 경북지역의 지하수와 소규모 먹는 물 공급시설을 대상으로 은의 농도를 측정하였으며 오염 정도를 미국 EPA 기준과 비교하고 시료를 채취한 지역의 특성, 물의 사용 목적 등을 고려하여 분석하였다. 총 293개의 시료 중 EPA의 secondary drinking water standards를 초과한 시료는 2개이며 비율로 0.6 7%이다. 검출률은 마을 상수도와 소규모 급수시설에서 상대적으로 높으며 농도 기준으로는 지하수에서 상대적으로 높은 농도를 보여 인위적 오염원과 지질적 기원이 동시에 작용한 것으로 판단되었다.

외식업체 통합주방의 효율적인 운영관리에 관한 연구 -통합주방의 중앙공급에 따른 효율화 사례중심으로- (A Study on Efficient Integrated Kitchen Management of Restaurant)

  • This study aims at efficiency of kitchen management by adoption of a systematic central kitchen and conversion of conventional kitchen to convenience kitchen at ' H ' restaurant. First, integrated menu control of banquet buffet functions became more competitive with quality menu and eventually brought about guests satisfaction. Second, systematic central kitchen made possible standardization and mass production through simplified production line. Efficiency through quick service and shortened preparation time was realized, and food materials were recycled effectively at the same time. Integrated ordering lowered purchasing price and built an efficient cost control system. Third, conversion of conventional kitchen to convenience kitchen and strengthened central kitchen system facilitated agreeable work conditions and optimal work flow with butcher's and even sauce making utensils. Fourth, integrated supply system of buffet menu and sauce from western restaurants saved about 520 million won of labor costs. Last, one integrated kitchen out of two was easier in sanitation control with pleasant restaurant space. Sharing kitchen facilities and equipments also saved about 30% of maintenance fee. Power, water, and gas were also saved and eventually curtailed overall expenses.

횡압력을 받는 실선 보강판의 평균압축강도 (Average Compressive Strengths of Stiffened Plates for In-Service Vessels Under Lateral Pressure)

  • This paper presents estimation of average compressive strengths of three types of stiffened panels under lateral pressure and axial compression based on simplified formulas from CSRs and nonlinear FEAs. FEA scenarios are prepared based on the slenderness ratios of the stiffened panels used for in-service vessels. The seven step lateral pressures by 1bar increment are imposed on FE models assuming maximum 30m water height. The number of FEAs for FB-, AB-, and TB-stiffened panels is totally 189 times. FEA results show that existence of pressure can evolves significant reduction of ultimate strengths, meanwhile CSR formulas do not take into account the lateral pressure effect. Lateral pressure acting on the stiffened panel with higher column slenderness ratio more reduces the ultimate strengths than those with smaller column slenderness ratio. A new concept of relative average compressive strain energy instead of the ultimate strength is introduced in order to rationally compare the average compressive strength through complete compressive straining regime. The differences of the ultimate strengths between CSR formulas and FEA results are relatively small for FB- and AB-stiffened panels, but larger discrepancies of relative average compressive strain energies are shown.

엑셀 스프레드시트를 활용한 온실가스 정보시스템 구축 (An Establishment of Greenhouse Gas Information System using Excel Spreadsheets)

  • Climate change is the biggest environmental issue of our times. A variety of activities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions have been in progress to observe the Kyoto Protocol. Especially, the Energy Target Scheme is created to reduce greenhouse emission with the supervision of Korean government. This includes Green-house Gas Information Systems to promote activities in the private sector to reduce green-house gas emissions, to cut a cost of energy use, and to reduce GHG emissions. Also, the system has calculated the amount of greenhouse gases. Without any additional investment, 2.75% savings are increased over the previous year. In service sector, a cooperation of customers and employees is necessary. A reduction of GHG emissions requires a proper service organization, considering an amount of investment and payback period. Without any additional investment or replacement, employees can save energy easily turning off ventilation systems an hour before employees' departure, installing timers to turn off water purifiers and vending machines after some period of no use. The Green-house Gas Information System is similar to that of Environmental Management System. However, the Excel is the best program to calculate an amount of green-house gas emissions, and to assess for a reduced amount of GHG emissions. A goal of this research is to propose a practical method in the private sector to calculate an amount of green-house gases. The Green-house gas Information System based on Excel spreadsheet gives standards for good evaluation. The greenhouse gas information system establishes and executes the policies and objectives related to greenhouse gas emissions Similar to ISO 14001 environment management system structures, the advantages of using simplified Excel Sheet for calculating GHG emissions and reducing GHG emissions are easy to access.
