네트워크 관리 프로토콜 SNMP의 성능 향상 (Improving the Performance of Network Management Protocol SNMP)

  • 규모가 커지고 라우터, 스위치, 서버 등과 같은 구성 요소가 다양해지고 있는 네트워크를 효율적으로 지원할 수 있는 SNMP(Simple Network Management Protocol)가 네트워크 관리의 표준 프로토콜로 가장 널리 사용되고 있다. 하지만, SNMP는 네트워크 과부하, 처리 지연 그리고 테이블 검색의 비효율성과 같은 성능적 문제점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 SNMP의 성능 개선을 위해 SNMP-GetBulk 응답메시지 내의 중복되는 OID 정보를 줄이는 기법과 NMS 캐쉬와 새로운 SNMP-GetUpdate 요청이 결합된 기법의 두 가지 제안을 제시한다. 분석을 통해 첫 번째 제안 기법은 네트워크 과부하를 감소시키고, 두 번째 기법은 SNMP 요청의 처리 지연과 테이블 검색 문제를 개선함을 보였고, 이로 인해 네트워크 관리의 확장성도 개선할 수 있다.

  • 보행 로봇의 궁극적인 목적은 원하는 장소로 이동한 후에 적절한 작업을 수행하는 데 있다. 보행 로봇이 임의의 작업을 수행하기 위해서는 보행을 위한 다리뿐만 아니라 별도의 머니퓰레이터를 갖추고 있어야 하지만 작업의 난이도가 높지 않은 특정 작업을 수행하는 데에는 굳이 머니퓰레이터를 갖추지 않더라도 보행에 사용하는 다리를 이용하여 작업을 수행할 수도 있다. 다리를 가지고 이동하는 보행 로봇 중에서 6족 보행 로봇은 안정적이고 빠른 보행이 가능한 장점이 있으며 다리의 수가 상대적으로 많으므로 로봇의 보행 및 정지 시 균형 유지를 용이하게 할 수 있고 균형 유지에 사용되지 않는 여분의 다리를 이용하여 특정 작업을 수행할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 6족 보행 로봇이 3차원 공간상에서 주어지는 공의 위치로 이동하여 공을 잡는 작업을 여유자유도 로봇 문제로 재구성하고 이를 해석하여 최적해를 구하는 방법을 제안한다.

An Efficient Audio Watermark Extraction in Time Domain

  • In this paper, we propose an audio extraction method to decrease the influence of the original signal by modifying the watermarking detection system proposed by P. Bassia et al. In the extraction of the watermark, we employ a simple mean filter to remove the influence of the original signal as a preprocessing of extraction and the repetitive insertion of the watermark. As the result of the experiment, for which we used about 20 kinds of actual audio data, we obtain a watermark detection rate of about 95% and a good performance even after the various signal processing attacks.

요트세일의 형상계측 기법 연구 (A Study on Shape Measuring Technique of a Yacht Sail)

  • In this study, we introduced image processing technic to measure shape variations of general bodies and applied it to the flexible yacht sail. Shape measurements of simple bodies sails were carried out and results showed that technic can be a reliable method to measure shape variations of the flexible yacht sail. The sail shape variation of 30ft sloop type yacht sail is measured on different sailing conditions. As velocity and direction of wind are increased, trailing edges in the upper part of the sail become more open than the lower part of the sail which are not changed. So it is confirmed that the shape measurement of a sail shape depending on a sailing condition is possible to use image processing scheme.

  • One of the most important design factor for the image tracker is the speed of the data processing which allows real-time operation of the system and provides reasonably accurate performance at the same time. Use of powerful DSP alone does not guarantee to meet such requirement. In this paper, a simple efficient algorithm for real-time multi-target image tracking is suggested. The suggested method is based on a recursive centroiding technique and color table look-up. This method has been successfully implemented in a image processing system for Micro-Robot Soccer Tournament(MIROSOT). This tracker can track positions of a ball, 3 enemies, and 3 agents at the same time. The experimental results show that the processing time for each frame of image is less than 7ms, which is well within the 60Hz sampling interval for real-time operation.

  • To determine the source location of acoustic emission in rock, the least square method has been used until lately but it needs much time and efforts. In this study, neural network system is applied to above model instead of least square method. This system has twenty seven input processing elements and three output processing element. The source locations calculated by above two methods are similarly concordant. The new method using neural network system is relatively simple and easy for calculating source location compared with traditional method.

Separating VNF and Network Control for Hardware-Acceleration of SDN/NFV Architecture

  • A hardware-acceleration architecture that separates virtual network functions (VNFs) and network control (called HSN) is proposed to solve the mismatch between the simple flow steering requirements and strong packet processing abilities of software-defined networking (SDN) forwarding elements (FEs) in SDN/network function virtualization (NFV) architecture, while improving the efficiency of NFV infrastructure and the performance of network-intensive functions. HSN makes full use of FEs and accelerates VNFs through two mechanisms: (1) separation of traffic steering and packet processing in the FEs; (2) separation of SDN and NFV control in the FEs. Our HSN prototype, built on NetFPGA-10G, demonstrates that the processing performance can be greatly improved with only a small modification of the traditional SDN/NFV architecture.

  • In this paper, we propose a parallel processing model for the efficient selection of Prime Implicants of Logic Functions. This model consists of simple parallel processing nodes, connections between them, Max Net (a part of Hamming Net) and quasi essential Prime Implicant selection standard in simplified cost form. Through these, this model selects essential Prime Implicants in a certain period of time regardless of the number of given Prime Implicants and minterms and also selects quasi essential Prime Implicants in short time.

Housdorff Distance 와 Hough Transform을 적용한 얼굴인식시스템의 분석 (An Analysis on Face Recognition system of Housdorff Distance and Hough Transform)

  • 본 연구에서는 얼굴 영상을 캡쳐하여 전 처리한 후 얼굴영역을 분리하고, 분리된 얼굴 영역에서 미분 연산자와 최소 형태를 세선화하여 특징을 추출하였다. Hough Transform은 $r-\theta$ 평면에서 직선의 기울기와 절편으로 변환되며, 반면 Housdorff distance는 세선화된 영상에서 선분을 추출하여 길이, 회전, 천이 특징을 추출하였다. 사람마다 다른 특징들을 추출하여 Housdorff distance과 Hough Transform에 관하여 비교분석 결과 Hough변환의 복잡도가 더 적은 것으로 판단되었다. 인식율은 Housdorff Distance를 이용한 인식율이 Hough Transformation에 비해 조금 높게 나타났다.

The Performance Analysis of Digital Watermarking based on Merging Techniques

  • Even though algorithms for watermark embedding and extraction step are important issue for digital watermarking, watermark selection and post-processing can give us an opportunity to improve our algorithms and achieve higher performance. For this reason, we summarized the possibilities of improvements for digital watermarking by referring to the watermark merging techniques rather than embedding and extraction algorithms in this paper. We chose Cox's function as main embedding and extraction algorithm, and multiple barcode watermarks as a watermark. Each bit of the multiple copies of barcode watermark was embedded into a gray-scale image with Cox's embedding function. After extracting the numbers of watermark, we applied the watermark merging techniques; including the simple merging, N-step iterated merging, recover merging and combination of iterated-recover merging. Main consequence of our paper was the fact of finding out how multiple barcode watermarks and merging techniques can give us opportunities to improve the performance of algorithm.
