In this numerical study, characteristics of swirl generation by the fan and selection of the location of the fan was studied theoretically by the modified TEACH code. The governing equations for the system are solved by means of the k dimensional version of the SIMPLE method and STAGGERED grid. From the present results, the optimal position of the fm is 0.625(h/H).

In this paper we develop an unconditional method for inferences on the shape parameter of a gamma distribution. A simple numerical implementation of this unconditional method is developed; this is a computer program that takes the observed data as input and produces the confidence distribution function for the shape parameter, which in turn provides approximate observe significance levels and confidence intervals for that parameter, as output. These approximations are extremely accurate even for very small sample size and numerically simple and easy to obtain.

This paper presents a simple algorithm to obtain three dimensional information of an object. In the preprocessing of the stereo matching,feature point informations of stero image must be less sensitive to noise and well liked the correspondance problem. This paper described a simple technique of struture feature extraction of 3-D object and used edge-end point expanding method for unconnected line instade of Hough transform. The feature such as corner point and their angles are used for matching problem. The experimental results show that the described algorithm is a useful method for stereo correspondence problem.

The use of soft-lithography instead of standard photolithography and dry etching technologies is attractive because inexpensive optical device can be realized. Polymerization using multi-photon absorption of materials is also a good method for optical waveguide fabrication. Laser induced self-writing technology of optical waveguide is also very simple and attractive. Using these processes, we can fabricate and interconnect optical circuits at once. In this presentation, several simple fabrication methods will be introduced. New optical loss evaluation method for polymer optical waveguides will also be presented

There exists an acute need for high voltage solid-state-switches in a broad area of applications. With the proposed method using simple voltage balancing circuit with series connected IGBTs, it is realized high voltage semiconductor switches with working voltages of several order kilo-volts. The operation principle of the proposed circuit is explained and analyzed. Transient and static voltage-balancing is tested on a experimenta 3kV/45A switch with four series-connected IGBTs.

A simple model for RAM (Reliability, Availability and Maintainability) analysis and its computer code are developed for application to DUPIC fuel fabrication system. The approach is obtained by linking the allocation model (top-down method) to bottom-up method for RAM analysis. As a result, the availability requirement of subsystem, as well as the buffer storage requirement between processes, are evaluated for the DUPIC facility..

This paper is about the design of half-bridge inverter controller with low cost and simple configuration for low power single-phase induction motor driving. The simple controller is composed of MCU and PLD. Also, to limit the overcurrent at initial driving, auxiliary function is added, and stabilizes the system. In order to verify the performance of the proposed methode, we design 500W inverter system, and in result, the response time of the proposed method compared with line voltage driving method is reduced by 200[msec].

In this paper, we propose regression methods based on the likelihood function. We assume Arnold-Beaver Skew Normal(ABSN) errors in a simple linear regression model. It was shown that the novel method performs better with an asymmetric data set compared to the usual regression model with the Gaussian errors. The utility of a novel method is demonstrated through simulation and real data sets.

This paper shows the effect of mean flow in duct. The potential equation of duct with mean flow is obtained. A finite element method(FEM) is used to predict acoustic performance of duct with mean flow. The formulation of the finite element method is derived for duct taking into consideration of the convective effect of mean flow. A simple duct, simple expansion chamber and a duct with resonator are implemented to show the effects of the mean flow.

Low bit rate image/video coding is essential for many visual communication applications. When bit rates become low, most compression algorithms yield visually blocking artifacts that highly degrade the perceptual quality, and post-processing approaches provide one attractive solution. In this paper, we provide simple and very efficient blocking artifacts reduction method using constrained random value addition. Our method is simple enough to be used for real-time post-processing of video.
