  • There are considerable amount of man power and time spent for analysis and selection of various materials due to the inadequate application system and rapid searching process of material related information in each stage of building production process. Also, due to the insufficiency in recycling system of important information created for each process, they are hoarded at each task stage and project completion. As a result, because of the repetition of the similar/identical tasks on each process, it is the major reason for impeding the efficient employment of manpower of the company and decreasing competition of the company. Moreover, in selecting finish material in the project field, there are many difficulties due to the lack of technical information such as product characteristics and field applications. The construction quality also affects the profit and loss of the product which calls for a need to develop continued information management system that the finish material related examples could be shared in real time. The objective of this study is to propose a building finish material information which the real time research and application is possible to raise the productivity. TO do this, the current material information task status analysis and questionnaire research should be conducted to understand the demand of system development and reflect the result onto the system for easy access and application. Therefore, the building finish material information system for enhancement of productivity of construction task proposed in this study is expected to be utilized in enhancement of construction quality, maximization of company profit, and strengthening of company competition.

  • The precision and endurance of tire mold are very important factors to decide the quality of tire. However, the investigation on the thermal deformation of tire mold has a lot of trouble because the tire mold is produced in airtight permanent casting material. In this study, the thermal deformations such as temperature, displacement and stress distributions inside the AC7A tire mold casting material were analyzed by numerical analysis according to the preheating temperature of permanent casting device. In order to verify the results of numerical analysis, the experiments for temperature measurement of the AC7A casting material were carried out under the same condition with numerical analysis. For the numerical analysis, "COMSOL Multiphysics" was used. The preheating temperatures were set up $150^{\circ}C$, $200^{\circ}C$, $250^{\circ}C$ and $300^{\circ}C$, respectively. The thermal deformations were calculated in each case. When the preheating temperature is $300^{\circ}C$, displacement and stress are the lowest with 0.25mm and 0.351GPa, but the temperature is the highest with $374.27^{\circ}C$. When the experimental results were compared with the numerical results, there were some temperature differences because of the latent heat by phase change heat transfer. However, the cooling patterns were almost similar except for the latent heat section.

  • In the automobile industry, there is growing demand for lightweight vehicles due to environmental problems and rising oil prices. Therefore, aluminum alloys and special materials are being used to reduce the weight of vehicles, but there are still many difficulties to overcome in terms of cost and strength. Therefore, the application of advanced high strength steel (AHSS)is increasing. AHSS has good strength and formability.Safety regulations are becoming stricter, and 1.2-GPa super-high-strength steels are gradually being applied for the center pillar and roof rails. Thus, the application of different kinds of steels in automobile bodiesis also increasing gradually. This study evaluates the resistance point weldability and the characteristics of a welded part of SGAFC1180 1.2t steel. A simulation was used to observe the nugget formation and its growth behavior. The prediction performance showed a similar tendency within an error rate of 10%. Also, the effect of this behavior on the process resistance and dynamic resistance was investigated, along with the correlation between the shear tensile strength and nugget diameter.

  • This study examined the chemical characteristics and the microstructure of Goryeo whiteware which was excavated in the kiln site Yucheon-ri, Gangwon-do, the southern part of South Korea. this area is considered to be used in the middle of the time of Goryeo Dynasty. We analyzed the chemical characteristics comparing Goryeo Whiteware from Seo-ri, Jungam-ri, Bangsan-dong and The temple site of Beopcheon. Based on the analysis, we confirmed the properties of raw material for making pottery. It is featured that body composition of Goryeo Whiteware from Yucheon-ri contains high silica and low solvent. However, the contents of the glaze are vice versa. Goryeo whiteware tends to contain larger part of oxide than that of titanium oxide, which applies to Goryeo Celadon. the whitewares during the early days of Goryeo Dynasty varies in components depending on kilns, whereas it does not mean that chronological changes happened in components. The whiteware shards from Yuchoen-ri have a similar aspect. The whiteware shard from the temple of Beopchen differ in composition, Thus they are estimated to have been produces and shipped from various sites. In conclusion, we judged that the component difference among Goryeo whitewares stems from production environment and origin of raw materials rather than chronological changers.

  • This study is to interpret the construction characteristics and the provenance of soil layers from the Dongnamri site in Baekje Kingdom of Buyeo, Korea. The soil layers is divided into present age layer, Baekje layer and lower part layer, and the soils formed in the Baekje Kingdom period is divided into the Baekje 1st layer and the Baekje 2nd layer according to temporal intervals. The soil layers gradually becomes darker in color and higher in mineral content towards the lower part layer. However, the particular distinction between layers of the soils could not be identified. Additionally, the soil layers show a similar characteristics of mineralogy and geochemical evolution regardless of the layers. This indicates that the sites were made with weathered soil from an identical bed rock, and the site show a similarity to the surrounding soil, indicating its possibility of being the original materials. However, through the analysis of particle size, the first and second Baekje layers occurred that these layers were formed by setting up the soil with high content of sand on the bottom and stacking the soil with high content of silt on top of it.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the wear properties of Saffil/Al, Saffil/A12O3/Al and Saffil/SiC/Al hybrid metal matrix composites fabricated by squeeze casting method. Wear tests were done on a pin-on-disk friction and wear tester under both dry and lubricated conditions. The wear properties of the three composites were evaluated in many respects. The effects of Saffil fibers, $\textrm{Al}_2\textrm{O}_3$ particles and SiC particles on the wear behavior of the composites were investigated. Wear mechanisms were analyzed by observing the worn surfaces of the composites. The variation of coefficient of friction(COF) during the wear process was recorded by using a computer. Under dry sliding condition, Saffil/SiC/Al showed the best wear resistance under high temperature and high load, while the wear resistances of Saffil/Al and Saffi1/$\textrm{Al}_2\textrm{O}_3$/Al were very similar. Under dry sliding condition, the dominant wear mechanism was abrasive wear under mild load and room temperature, and the dominant wear mechanism changed to adhesive wear as load or temperature increased. Molten wear occurred at high temperature. Compared with the dry sliding condition, all three composites showed excellent wear resistance when lubricated by liquid paraffin. Under lubricated condition, Saffil/Al showed the best wear resistance among them, and its COF value was the smallest. The dominant wear mechanism of the composites under lubricated condition was microploughing, but microcracking also occurred to them to different extents.

  • In order to study the biolgiocal effects of dry back following EMS (Ethyl methane sulfonate) treatment on seeds of 'Dunghan Shali' that belongs to indica-type rice with various presoaking(24, 36, and 40 hrs respectivily) and treatment time(l, 2 and 3 hrs respectivily), this experiment was done. Seedling heights of wet seeds presoaked for 36 hrs was only greatly decreased with EMS treatment compared with other periods. In germination rate of wet seeds, all of these damage was not changed. For the drying back seeds, otherwise, seedling height and germination rate were greatly reduced depend upon the time of treatment and presoaking as well as storage effects after drying back. Reduction patterns, both seedling height and germination rate, between 1 week and 8 weeks after dry back were quite similar. The other experiment was carried out in order to study for the influences on the seedling growth as biological damage with EMS and MMS(Methyl methane sulfonate) treatments among different varieties. The indica-type rice varieties; Taichung Native No.1, Dunghan Shali and IR-8, were used as the experimental materials. From this trial some results were obtained as follows; 1. Both seedling growth and germination rate on all varieties, used, MMS, treatment showed more toxic effects than those of EMS treatment. 2. Seeding growth injury of rice seeds dried back was increased gradually, and then was approached the maximum at 6-8 days after storing. In IR-s variety, otherwise, growth damage was appeared a little. Germination rate of these were quite smilar, even though chemical used is different and storage period was prolonged. 3. It was showed clearly that varietal differences of chemical mutagene treatments were recognized.

  • The effects of temperature, salinity and irradiance on the growth of the harmful red tide dinoflagellate Cochlodinium polykrikoides Margelef isolated from the South Sea of Korea were examined in the laboratory. Growth was examined under the following combinations of temperature and salinity: 15, 20, 25 and $30^{\circ}C$, and 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35 psu at a constant irradiance of $180\;{\mu}mol/m^2/s$. No growth was observed with a temperature of $15^{\circ}C$ and a salinitiy of 15 psu. Moderate growth rates of more than 0.30 /day were obtained at $25^{\circ}C$ with salinities of 25.35 psu. These values are similar to in situ observations for this species. The maximum growth rate, 0.35 /day, was obtained at $25^{\circ}C$ and 30 psu. In light experiments, cell growth of C. polykrikoides was conducted with constant temperature ($20^{\circ}C$) and salinity (30 psu) under light photon flux densities (PFD) of 10, 25, 50, 70, 100, 150, 250 and $350\;{\mu}mol/m^2/s$. C. polykrikoides did not grow at $10\;{\mu}mol/m^2/s$. Cell growth was observed at irradiance values of $25\;{\mu}mol/m^2/s$ and above. The irradiance-growth curve was described as ${\mu}=0.30{\cdot}(I-15.27)/(I+27.22)$, (r=0.99). This suggests a compensation PFD of $15.27\;{\mu}mol/m^2/s$ and a maximum growth rate of 0.30 /day. In conclusion, C. polykrikoides prefers high salinity, temperature and irradiance in summer in Korea. These results provide important information for understanding the mechanism of C. polykrikoides blooms and developing technology to predict blooms of this organism in the field.
