Evaluation on Reduction Effect of Dam Hydraulic Turbine Dynamo Noise using Auralization (가청화를 이용한 댐 수차 발전기소음의 저감효과 평가)

  • In case of the hydraulic turbine dynamo room at Dam, due to its big volume and reflexible finishing material, since the noise of electricity-generation is amplifying, it influences the difficulty of mutual communication among the workers, also it is causing both mental and physical damages to those workers in the neighboring office. Accordingly, after presentation of the optimized renovation model of the hydraulic turbine dynamo room using the acoustic simulation, this Research has compared and evaluated them using the auralizational technique between the present condition of "before improvement" and the acoustic condition of "after improvement". As the result of psycho-acoustics experiment, as the acoustic conditions at both "before & after Improvement" were apparently compared, it appeared that there is a considerable amount of noise-reduction effect at psycho-acoustics. It is considered that such material could be utilized as the valuable data hereafter for the time when any construction and renovation of the hydraulic turbine dynamo room and other similar workshop.

  • In the modern fashion industry, efficiency has been increasing thanks to development of computer graphics, IT technology, and digitalization. Unlike the past when fashion design heavily depended on handwork, digitalization of fashion industry makes fabrication time shorter and enables designers to adopt comprehensive expression, generating high value-added product. The Apparel CAD, an example of the digitalized fashion industry, has been developed from 2D system into a system providing 3D simulation. Digital clothing can be determined as an activity of designers using the tool in order to fabricate pattern and simulate its designed clothes in the virtual space of computer. In this study, physical properties of eight materials, which can be utilized on a par with current fashion trend, have been specified. For more sophisticated investigation, external appearance of the material was investigated by 3D scanning. In order to examine the physical properties of fabric specimens, KES(Kawabata Evaluation System) measurements and other physical property measurements were made. With the results, virtual material and clothes were simulated via CLO 3D, one of 3D apparel CAD systems. Then, virtual fabrics and clothes of similar types were generated and analyzed.

  • SAW filters of transversal type were fabricated on some piezoelectric substrate of the LN 128 $^{\circ}$ Y-X waters through the simulation in which the number of IDT and window function were changed for the required frequency, and the mask making. Their IDT spacing and width were 1.63$\mu\textrm{m}$, 1.239$\mu\textrm{m}$, respectively. Titanium thin films having different thicknesses were introduced between the Al electrode and the substrate for improving the power resistance strength due to its high temperature durability and good adhesion characteristics. All of specimens showed similar insertion loss results, which means the possibility of introducing the Ti layer though it is known to have a higher resistivity leading to a worse insertion loss result. Ti inserted specimens had a better power durability than that of pure Al electrode though their thickness had no effect on the performance.

  • In this study, the optimum structure of a magnetic thin film inductor was designed for application of DC-DC converters. The Ni$\sub$81/Fe$\sub$19/ (at%) alloy was selected as a high-frequency($\geq$MHz) magnetic thin film magnetron sputtering system. As-deposited NiFe thin films show similar magnetic properties compared to bulk NiFe alloys, indicating that they have a good film quality. The optimum design of dolenoid-type magnetic thin film inductors was performed utilizing a Maxwell computer simulator (Ansoftt HFSS V7.0 for PC) and parameters obtained from the magnetic properties of magnetic core materials selected. The high-frequency characteristics of the inductance(L) and quality factor(Q) obtained for the designed inductors through simulation agreed well with those obtained by theoretical calculations, confirming that the simulated result is realistic. The optimum structure of high-performance (Q$\geq$60, L = 1${\mu}$H, efficiency $\geq$90%), high-frequency ($\geq$5MHz), and solenoid-type magnetic thin film inductors was designed successfully.

  • A new estimated neural networks are proposed in order to measure nonlinear road environments in realtime. This new neural networks is Error Estimated Neural Networks. The structure of it is similar to recurrent neural networks; a delayed output as the input and a delayed error between the output of plant and neural networks as a bias input. In addition, we compute the desired value of hidden layer by an optimal method instead of transfering desired values by backpropagation and each weights are updated by RLS(Recursive Least Square). Consequently, this neural networks are not sensitive to initial weights and a learning rate, and have a faster convergence rate than conventional neural networks. We can estimate nonlinear models in realtime by the proposed networks and control nonlinear models. To show the performance of this one, we control 7 degree simulation, this controller and driver were proved to be effective to drive a car in the environments of nonlinear road systems.

  • The SONOSFET Shows low operation voltage, high cell density, anti good endurance due to modified Fowler-Nordheim tunneling as memory charge injection method. In this paper, therefore, the NOR-type Flash EEPROM composed of SONOSFET, which has fast lead operation speed and Random Access characteristics, is proposed. An 8${\times}$8 bit NOR-type SONOSFET Flash EEPROM had been designed and its electrical characteristics were verified. Read/Write/Erase operations of it were verified with the spice parameters of SONOSFETs which had Oxide-Nitride-Oxide thickness of 65${\AA}$-165${\AA}$-35${\AA}$ and that of scaled down as 33${\AA}$-53${\AA}$-22${\AA}$, respectively. When the memory window of the scaled-down SONOSFET with 8V operation was similar to that of the SONOSFET with 13V operation, the Read operation delay times of the scaled-down SONOSFET were 25.4ns at erase state and 32.6ns at program state, respectively, and those of the SONOSFET were 23.5ns at erase state and 28.2ns at program state, respectively.

  • $BiNbO_4$ ceramics doped with 0.07wt% $V_2O_5$ and 0.03wt% CuO (BNC3V7) were sucessfully sintered at $900^{\circ}C$ through the firing process with Ag electrode. The BNC3V7 shows typically Dielectric constant of 44.3, Thermal Coefficient of resonance Frequency(TCF) of 2 ppm/$^{\circ} and $Qxf_o$ value of 22,000 GHz. The laminated chip Low Pass Filter (LPF) is very sensitive to chip processing parameters, was confirmed by the computer simulation as a function of Q(Quality factors), filter size, capacitor layer thickness, inductor pattern widths. The multilayer type LPF was fabricated by screen-printing with Ag electrode after tape casting and then compared with the simulated characteristics. The results show that characterization of band pass width was similar to that of designed ones.

  • SAW filters of transversal type were fabricated on some piezoelectric substrates of the LN 128$^{\circ}$ Y-X, LN 64$^{\circ}$Y-X, Quartz ST-cut wafers through the simulation in which the number o: IDT and window function were changed for the required frequency, and the mask making. Their IDT spacing and width were 3 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$, chip size was 4.462 $\times$ 2.086 mm$^2$, and they had double electrode transversal type IDTs. In addition to pure Al electrode devices, Ti thin films having the different thicknesses was introduced between the Al electrode and the substrate for improving the power resistance strength. They had 11-12 dB insertion losses similar to those of pure Al electrode SAW filters in case of LN 128$^{\circ}$ Y-X, LN 64$^{\circ}$ Y-X, meaning that Ti thin film was not detrimental to the insertion loss and general frequency properties. The filters had the center frequencies 162MHz for LN 128$^{\circ}$ Y-X, 186MHz for 64$^{\circ}$ Y-X, and 131MHz for Quartz ST-cut substrates.

  • Recently, in accordance with the cultural progress and the improvement of citizen's consciousness level, it is the real situation that the construction of small-scaled Multi-Purpose Hall where various cultural events could be performed, is on increasing. However, because the most of Multi-Purpose Hall had been designed and built up without any consideration on Acoustic Factor, many problems are on occurring thereat. Because those small-scaled Multi-Purpose Hall have been mostly used with the finishing material which contains a high degree of Acoustic Absorption indiscreetly, both diffusion and reflection of sound are not establishing properly, and since the reverberation of sound is very low, in case of musical performance by musical instrument, its sound hears too arid and stiff, there occurs some acoustic defect such as it becomes difficult for music appreciation with sufficient timbre, so that the capability improvement on the matter is urgently requiring situation. On this viewpoint, this Research has caught the Authenticity of the forecasted value and actually measured value using Acoustic Simulation on the subject of the small-scaled Multi-Purpose Hall, and then intended to propose the optimum acoustic condition on the basis of the Authenticity. As the result, it could be designed a Multi-Purpose Hall equipped with the satisfactory acoustic performance compare with the time before improvement, so that it is considered that such research result could be practically used as the fundamental material when design for other similar small-scaled Multi-Purpose Hall in the future.

  • In the medical field, lead aprons are used to protect the human body from radiation. However, lead is a heavy metal that is harmful to the human body and the environment, so various shield are being developed. In this study, bismuth, which has a similar atomic number to lead, was set as a new material and the absorption rate according to thickness in the same energy region was compared and evaluated through Monte Carlo simulation. The same tendency was confirmed when the thickness of the lead shield was 0.25 mm, the thickness of the bismuth was 0.3 mm, when the lead was 0.50 mm, the bismuth was 0.60 mm, and when the lead was 0.75 mm, the bismuth was 0.90 mm. Therefore, it is reasonable to replace lead with bismuth in the shield material.
