The purpose of this study was to evaluate physiological response and subjective sensation of functional knitwears with different materials and designs. The three different types of knitwears were knitted(polar-neck with cotton/chitosan-C, V-neck with cotton/chitosan-CV and polar neck with cotton/chitosan/silver yarn-CS) and evaluated by four healthy female subjects. Eardrum temperature, mean skin temperature, clothing microclimate, and heart rate were measured in climatic chamber($30^{\circ}C$, 50%RH, 0.5m/sec). The results were as follows. 1. Eardrum temperature was generally evaluated as lower in CV and CS than in C. Mean skin temperature was lower in knitwears with silver yarn than in knitwears without silver yarn. 2. Clothing microclimate temperature on the chest was lower in knitwears with silver yarn than in knitwears without silver yarn. 3. Clothing microclimate humidity was generally lower knitwears with silver yarn than knitwears without silver yarn. 4. Heart rate was lower in knitwears with silver yarn than in knitwears without silver yarn and lower in V-neck than in polar neck. 5. Thermal sensation was slightly warmer in knitwears without silver yarn than in knitwears with silver yarn. Overall comfort sensation was evaluated as more comfortable in CV and CS than in C.

The purpose of this study is to comparison on the sizing system in silver apparel brands with the KS standards. For the comparison research, 3 women's wear brands(suit style, knitted suit style, casual style) which were different apparel style on occasion in madame-zone of department stores were selected. The subject of investigation of sizing system of these brands were the label. The results of the sizing system of silver apparel brands as compared with the KS standards were as follows: 1) For the upper wear of suit style, it is larger than KS standards that size of height is $5{\sim}15$ cm. 2) For the lower wear of suit style, suitability of size of hip circumference is lower than KS standards. 3) For the casual style, it is larger than KS standards that size of height is $10{\sim}20$ cm.

The increased average life expectancy and an aging society mean a lot of change socially and economically. With the increased population of the new elderly generation, holding a desire to pursue high quality life, plans and marketing strategies towards this group have progressed in the clothing industry. Purchases of clothing will lead the silver clothing industry to a huge consumer market and silver clothing brands are expected to have a lot of potential to grow, especially in department stores in Korea. From now on, there is a need for attacking the market with distinct tactics and characteristics that will satisfy the elderly consumers emotionally. Psychological views towards the elderly generation must be changed and our unique environment state must be considered. With all that, there is also a strong need for researches and development technically and industrially.

This study was conducted on the costume of the 6 minorities dwelling in Guizhou Province of China. The result of the study is summarized as follows. As Guizhou Province yields much silver, most of the minorities used silver ornaments a lot and dyed their garments by using indigo extracted from plants that grow in the area. The headdress was of style that for both men and women a long cloth is wound around a head in various ways. In some cases, women used cow's horn, pearl and silver ornaments. Most wore a short upper garment such as blouses with overlapping necks or blouses with diagonal on the front, and as a lower garment men and women wore trousers and skirts, respectively. As a way of ornament, embroidering, wax printing and weaving were commonly used, but pattern and color used in the ornament varied depending on the individual minorities.

This study has the purpose of classifying the types of decoration techniques applied to the Korean traditional costume of modern style which are shown in relevant monthly magazines and analyzing the characteristics of the techniques. Findings of the study can be summarized as follows. The types of decoration techniques applied to the Korean traditional costume are classified into single and composite types according to decorative components. In the traditional costume of the former type, a quite many of gold and silver foils and embroideries are found. While, in that of the latter type, a combination of two different decorations, gold and silver foils and embroideries, embroideries and seonchigi or embroideries and stitches is usually used. These decoration techniques are usually applied to some parts of the costume like git, kkeutdong or cuffs, somae or sleeves, jacket or jeogori, the lower hem of the skirt and between joined parts in the skirt. More notably, Korean traditional costumes for women shown in monthly magazines released during the period as mentioned above were investigated to find that a part of the women's clothes, that is, skirt was in most cases decorated with brilliant embroideries. Used together with the techniques, patterns are usually applied onto embroideries and gold or silver foils. Most of the patterns are flower in shape. The main material of the Korean traditional costume is fabrics that have brilliant patterns on the surface and are commercially available irrespective of season. Consequently, since 2010, flower motive patterns which are important in modern fashion trend will be used in embroideries, gold and silver foils. Additionally, embroideries such as seakdong, applique, drawing made with modern style will be the main stream of new HanBok style.

In this study, characteristics of modern fur fashion were reviewed and aesthetic characteristics shown in fur fashion were analyzed. The results of this study are as follow. Aesthetic characteristics shown in fur fashion between 1980s and 2000s are conspicuousness, sensuality, elegance, activity, humor and abnormality. Conspicuousness was displayed in oversized fur coat in vivid leopard pattern, mink coat trimmed with rich fox fur or leopard patterned fur jacket in hot pink. Sensuality was displayed in white and gray soft mink coat worn over mini dress, soft mink jacket which is short enough to expose legs or soft fox best accentuating chest and arms. Elegance was displayed in soft fox coat in silver, luxurious mink coat with slim silhouette that flows with body line or silver bolero made of mink and silk with slim silhouette. Activity was presented in mink pullover with loose silhouette or rabbit jacket that emphasized functionality by having zippers or hem made of rubber. Humor was presented in unique and humorous patterned fur jacket or exaggerated and unique form of fox bolero. Abnormality was presented in mink jacket made of combining alien material with deformed proportion and form or outer that emphasized vague form by using long and big fox fur.

The purpose of this study was to examine the outdoorwear satisfaction of silver consumers and their purchase behavior according to age. The survey participants in this study were 100 elders who were climbing the Bukhan mountain; 68 among them were new silver group in range of 55-64 years old. As the subjects were old people who had a relatively low level of cognitive ability, self-administration method and interview were employed together. The collected data were analyzed with t-Test and x2 -test. The results follow: the new silver group had purchased more and spent more money on outdoorwear. The brand recognition, purchase place, purchase criteria, and dissatisfaction factors of silver groups were different from those from new silver groups. The quality and design/color were thought to be needed for improvement for a new silver group, while quality and comfort/wearability were for silver group.

The aim of this study is to develop Casual Hanbok design made of Hanji yarn textiles for New Silver generation women. The New silver generation is a coined word which has meaning of a newly silver generation and it is distinguished from pre-silver generation. New silver generation is a generation that is independent and given active role by their age groups and generational characteristic. The concept of silver generation was introduced from maturity market in Japan. This study was based on analysis about their preference of forms, colors, and materials of Casual Hanbok. The survey target were 270 female over age 50 living in Daejeon City. The analysis methods used frequency and percentage. The results were summarized as following. Although almost of them haven't worn Casual Hanbok, they had the positive recognition on wearing one. They preferred longer length jacket to traditional Korean style, shorter length of skirt. They also preferred the traditional sleeve shape and knotted buttons. On the foundation of this fact, 2 styles consist of 5 Casual Hanbok design items made of functional material - Hanji yarn textiles that have antimicrobial, deodorant, quick drying, far infrared radiation which are not harmful to health - for New silver women were suggested. One style was 3 items - blouse, vest, skirt - which are the sense of Korean tradition with activity by patch. The other was 2 items - jacket and skirt - which are the sense of Korean tradition with modern way by quilting. Lastly, these garments were evaluated by 13 experts, they were satisfied with 2 styles and all items. As this study were based on the Elderly women living in Daejeon city, it had the limitation on applying of preference styles to all the New silver generation.

The purpose of this study was to suggest a silver blouse design by applying modularization. The precedent study of the researcher was used to analyze the design characteristics that were displayed in domestic and foreign silver blouses. This study was taken as the follow-up research as the module components and range of the silver blouse were set up and it was based on to suggest a silver blouse design with application of modularization. The intention was to base on the module system used in various fields to apply the modularization method on the module design research of silver blouse and as a result, it was derived into 6 types. The traditional design reflected on the characteristic of how the silver generation prioritizes practicality and in order to emphasize this, it will be more effective to apply the fastener and folding method for the development of the design. The contemporary design reflected on the characteristic of how the silver generation prioritizes aesthetics and in order to emphasize this, it will be more effective to apply the module composition method where integration can be made according to the desire of the wearer for the development of the design. The trendy design reflected on how the characteristic of the silver generation wants to look younger and the derived modularization method can be applied freely for expression. Since the range, structure, and formation where modularization can be applied are general, it is implied that there is a need to take sustainable development has to be conducted as the tool that can create different types of design.

In Korea, to deal with the housing needs of the elderly, the government operates free nursing homes and residential homes. And to deal with the needs for daily necessities, imported products or products for the disabled have been supplied for the elderly. The government has recognized the importance of silver industry in this rapidly aging society and has established strategies to vitalize industries related to seniors to deal with the seniors' need for food, clothing, and shelter. This study examined the necessity of nursing home gowns, and the development of nursing home gowns that are environmentally friendly, beautiful and functional for the new silver generation. For this study, literature review and Internet search were conducted regarding the status of silver fashion, necessity of nursing home gowns, emergence of new silver generation and change in lifestyle, and value and utilization of natural dye and traditional patterns. To produce nursing home gowns, fabric was dyed using fermented indigo dying, and 3 styles of nursing home gowns for each gender were designed in consideration of seasons. Lastly, these gowns were evaluated by fashion experts, medical personnel, hospital gown and silver wear experts, and natural dye experts. The results showed that the traditional Korean designs developed in this study were excellent and the fermented indigo dye was appropriate for the nursing home gowns. The development of nursing home gowns in this study will be utilized as basic material for the development of silver wear and nursing home gowns to improve the quality of life for the seniors.
