Signalling equipments at railroad sites are widely exposed to high voltage lightning surges. This paper presents a lightning protection system for the signalling equipments at subway car depots. The main features of the system are as follows : (1)the common grounding system between power system grounds and the signaling system grounds, (2)physical and chemical methods to reduce grounding resistivity, (3)rearrangement of lightning rods based on the rolling bal1 theory, (4)equi-potential bonding networks to minimize the potential differences between the equipments grounds. The system has been constructed at six subway car depots in Seoul metropolitan area and it is measured that the grounding resistivity are reduced to 0.266 ohms and the potential differences between devices are reduced to a negligible quantity. After the construction of the systems, it has not been reported the break-down of the signalling equipments caused by lighting surges.

A mobile propagation characteristics for wideband DS-SS (Direct Sequence-Spectrum) signal is presented. Existing narrowband model is extended for the wideband pulse with an arbitrary shape. The received DS-SS signal in the frequency domain is the transfer function of the propagation channel weighted by the inverse Fourier transform. In this proposed method, received signal spectral density, instantaneous waveform, and Doppler spectrum of DS-SS signal via either Rayleigh of Rician channel can be obtained easily. Simulation results match well with both simulated theoretical fading statistics and classical theory. As expected, the extraction of chip timing in Rician fading shown to be more tractable than Rayleigh fading.

As users' interests of cryptocurrency has been increased, investment volume of it also increases. In the cryptocurrency market, it cannot always be distributed homogenous information to all investors, similar to the stock market because it reflects the characteristics of a market microstructure. Cryptocurrency traders, thus, like stock investors, can experience the information asymmetry in the market and cannot but help to depend on private information. The purpose of this study is to estimate the trading intensity of informed traders and uninformed traders among cryptocurrency investors around the world based on PIN (Probability of Informed Trading). We have an aim to compare the difference of information asymmetry according to the ten types of cryptocurrency. The results of this study are expected to prevent the continuous increase of suspicious transactions related to cryptocurrency and contribute to the development of a sound cryptocurrency market.

This paper is presented to a theory comparing each different systems by quantitatively analyzing reliability. availability, maintenance and safety. Reliability R(t) produced by the method here is used for MTBF calculation of system as reliability of normal state. It is possible to produce the failure rate of unsafety state through modelization of system only to use the failure rate, after yielding the failure rate of failure mode to each unsafety sate in case that unsafety state is defined with the function of systems applied.

This paper investigates the effects of firms' foreign market focus on the optimistic bias of analysts' earnings forecasts. Based on a sample of 852 U.S. manufacturing firms between 1994 and 2015, our empirical results suggest that higher growth of foreign market focus is associated with greater levels of analysts' forecast optimism. Drawing on the CEO career horizon and the upper echelon theory literature, we find evidence that CEOs' career horizon and functional background as a CFO moderates the relationship between the growth rate of foreign market focus and analysts' forecast optimism. This shows that while financial analysts perceive internationalization strategies as signaling growth potential, such perception can vary depending on CEOs' individual characteristics.

본 논문에서는 홈 네트워크 환경에서 서비스 이동성을 지원하기 위한 에이전트 구현 방안을 제안한다. 에이전트 구현을 위해 단말 에이전트와 서버 에이전트의 설계 방안을 서술하였다. 구체적으로 단말 에이전트의 사용자 인식 모듈, 시그널링 메시지 수신 및 파싱 모듈과 서버 에이전트의 시그널링 메시지 수신 및 파싱 모듈, 멀티미디어 스위칭 모듈, 메모리 관리 모듈에 대한 설계 방안을 서술하였다. 또한 사용자의 위치 관리를 위해 IP 공유기에서 관리되어야 할 파라메터를 정의하였고 이 파라메터들이 메모리에 저장될 바인딩 테이블의 구조를 설계하였다. 성능 분석을 위해서 M/M/1/K 큐잉 모델을 이용하여 메모리 크기, 차단 확률, 활용도 간의 관계를 도출하였다. 얻어진 결과로부터 서버에이전트가 탑재되는 IP 공유기에서 요구되는 메모리의 크기를 예측할 수 있음을 보였다.

Cancer stem cells have stem cell-like features, such as the ability for self-renewal and differentiation but show unlimited growth because they have the lost normal regulation of cell growth. Cancer stem cells and normal stem cells have similar features. They show high motility, diversity of progeny, robust proliferative potential, association with blood vessels, immature expression profiles, nestin expression, epidermal growth factor (EGF)-receptor expression, phosphatase and tensin homolog (PTEN) expression, hedgehog pathway activity, telomerase activity, and Wnt pathway activity. On the other hand, with cancer cells, some of these signaling pathways are abnormally modified. In 1875, Cohnheim suggested the concept of cancer stem cells. Recently, evidence for the existence of cancer stem cells was identified. In 1994, the cancer stem cells' specific cell surface marker for leukemia was identified. Since then, other specific cell surface markers for cancer stem cells in solid tumors (e.g. breast and colon cancer) have been identified. In oral cancer, studies on cancer stem cells have been performed mainly with squamous cell carcinomas. Oral cancer specific cell surface markers, which are genes strongly expressed in oral cancer and cancer stem cell specific side populations, have been identified. Cancer stem cells are resistant to radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Therefore, to eliminate malignant tumors efficiently and reduce the recurrence rate, therapy targeting cancer stem cells needs to be performed. Currently, studies targeting the cancer stem cells' specific signaling pathways, telomerase and tumor vasculatures are being done.

본 논문은 인접 심볼 간의 간섭(ISI)이 발생하지 않는 최대 데이터 전송률인 Nyquist rate 보다 빠르게 데이터를 전송하는 방법인 Faster than Nyquist(FTN)을 다룬다. FTN 신호는 인접 심볼 간의 간섭을 일으키지만, 신호대역폭을 유지하면서 비트 전송률을 증가시킨다. 그러므로 FTN에 의한 ISI를 보상해주는 것이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 FTN 신호를 제안하는 BCJR Equalizer 와 Turbo Equali zation을 이용하여 복호한다. BCJR Equalizer를 이용하여 최대한 인접 심볼 간의 간섭을 복원한 신호를 LDPC 복호기에 입력해주어 복호를 한다. 그리고 이 과정을 반복하는 Turbo Equalization을 이용해 성능을 높인다. 마지막으로 FTN 신호의 축소 %별로 성능을 비교한다.

Background: Non-invasive painless signaling therapy (NPST) is an electro-cutaneous treatment that converts endogenous pain information into synthetic non-pain information. This study explored whether pain improvement by NPST in failed back surgery syndrome (FBSS) patients is related to cerebral modulation. Methods: Electroencephalography (EEG) analysis was performed in 11 patients with FBSS. Subjects received daily NPST for 5 days. Before the first treatment, patients completed the Brief Pain Inventory (BPI) and Beck Depression Inventory and underwent baseline EEG. After the final treatment, they responded again to the BPI, reported the percent pain improvement (PPI), and then underwent post-treatment EEG. If the PPI grade was zero, they were assigned to the ineffective group, while all others were assigned to the effective group. We used standardized low-resolution brain electromagnetic tomography (sLORETA) to explore the EEG current-source distribution (CSD) associated with pain improvement by NPST. Results: The 11 participants had a median age of 67.0 years, and 63.6% were female. The sLORETA images revealed a beta-2 CSD increment in 12 voxels of the right anterior cingulate gyrus (ACG) and the right medial frontal area. The point of maximal CSD changes was in the right ACG. The alpha band CSD increased in 2 voxels of the left transverse gyrus. Conclusions: Pain improvement by NPST in FBSS patients was associated with increased cerebral activity, mainly in the right ACG. The change in afferent information induced by NPST seems to be associated with cerebral pain perception.

산업혁명 이후 기계로 만든 공산품이 시장의 대부분을 차지하고 있지만, 최근에는 장인의 노력, 품질에 대한 믿음, 제품의 희소성, 제품을 사용함으로써 얻는 자부심 등을 이유로 많은 소비자들이 같은 범주의 공산품보다 더 비싼 가격을 주고 핸드메이드 제품을 구매하고 있다. Etsy.com은 세계 최대 온라인 핸드메이드 플랫폼으로 2015년 4월 기업공개에서 2조원이 넘는 자금을 조달하면서 온라인 핸드메이드 플랫폼의 잠재력을 증명하였다. 그러나 실제 온라인 플랫폼 환경에서 이루어진 지능형 서비스 관련 선행연구들을 살펴보면 대부분 공산품만을 대상으로 하고 있어, 핸드메이드 제품에 대한 학술적 접근이 충분히 이뤄지지 않고 있음을 알 수 있다. 이에, 본 연구에서는 신호 이론과 온라인 플랫폼에서의 구매자-판매자 관계 특성에 대한 선행연구를 바탕으로 온라인 핸드메이드 플랫폼에 적용 가능한 핵심 특성요인인 입점 상점 특성(명성, 규모)과 입점 상점 관계특성(정보공유, 관계기간)을 도출한 후, Etsy.com 웹사이트에서 웹 하베스팅 방법으로 수집된 데이터를 이용하여 실증 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 입점 상점 특성 가운데 명성과 규모, 그리고 입점 상점 관계특성 가운데 정보공유는 입점 상점의 총 판매량에 유의한 영향을 주는 것으로 확인되었다. 또한, 입점 상점 특성 중 명성, 그리고 입점 상점 관계특성 중 관계기간은 입점 상점의 가격 프리미엄에 유의한 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과로 온라인 핸드메이드 플랫폼에서 지능형 서비스 도입 및 운영을 위한 효과적인 관리 기준을 제시하고, 나아가 입점 상점이 핸드메이드 제품에 대한 판매량 증진 및 가격 프리미엄 극대화를 위한 실질적 전략 마련에 도움이 될 수 있기를 기대한다.
