지체도 최소화를 위한 주기변동기반 동적신호시간 결정모헝 개발 (Development of a Cycle-free Based, Cooridinated Dynamic Signal Timing Model for Minimizing Delay (Using Genetic Algorithm))

  • 본 연구에서는 평균지체시간을 최소화하는 변동주기 (Cycle fee) 기반의 동적 신호시간 결정모형을 유전자 알고리즘을 이용하여 개발하였다. 본 모형은 실시간으로 변화하는 각 접근로의 차량 도착분포를 토대로 이동류별 지체시간을 산정하고, 교차로의 지체시간을 최소화하는 신호주기의 길이와 이동류별 녹색시간을 산출한다. 개발모형은 4개 교차로로 구성된 간선도로를 대상으로 적용하였으며, 교차로 교통상황의 변화에 따라 신호주기별로 변동하는 신호주기의 길이, 이동류별 녹색시간 그리고 교차로간 변동 연동값을 각각 산출하였다. 모형의 적용결과 산출된 변동 신호주기와 이동류별 녹색시간은 비포화상태와 포화상태 모두 TRANSYT-7F나 PASSER-II에 의하여 산출된 정주기식 신호시간보다 대기차량수, 통과교통량, 그리고 지체시간에서 있어서 더 좋은 결과를 나타내었다. 또한 본 모형은 기존모형과는 달리 연동값을 고정 값으로 설정하지 않고 각 주기가 종료되는 시점마다 교차로 지체시간을 최소화하는 주기 및 이동류별 녹색시간을 산정하므로 연동값도 신호주기별로 변동하였다. 시공도 분석결과, 본 모형에서는 모형의 결과를 산출되는 변동 연동값을 통하여 주방향 이동류의 연동효과를 나타내었다.

  • Small-signal modeling and controller design methodology are proposed to improve the dynamics and stability of a DC-DC dual active bridge (DAB) converter. The state-space average method has a limitation when applied to the DAB converter because its state variables are nonlinear and have zero average values in a switching period. Therefore, the small-signal model and the frequency response of the DAB converter are derived and analyzed using a generalized average method instead of conventional modeling methods. The design methodology of a lead-lag controller instead of the conventional proportional-integral controller is also proposed using the derived small-signal model. The accuracy and performance of the proposed small-signal model and controller are verified by simulation and experimental results with a 500 W prototype DAB converter.

Design of a Software-Based RNSS Signal Simulator for a New Signal

  • In 2021, development of a regional satellite navigation system called KPS was approved. In this regard, various studies are in progress, but there is no published signal model. So, in relation to the user segment, it is necessary to design a user receiver, but there is no information. Therefore, in this paper, we assume a signal model that can be a candidate signal for KPS based on related studies. This signal uses CNAV-2 structure navigation message, truncated Gold code and BPSK modulation. Based on this signal, a simulator is designed that can be used for receiver design later. The simulator consists of a signal generator and a signal transmitter, and is verified using a software receiver and spectrum analyzer.

신호교차로의 차로 배정과 신호시간 최적화 모형에 관한 연구 (A Study on Optimization of Lane-Use and Traffic Signal Timing at a Signalized Intersection)

  • PURPOSES : The purpose of this study is to present a linear programing optimization model for the design of lane-based lane-uses and signal timings for an isolated intersection. METHODS: For the optimization model, a set of constraints for lane-uses and signal settings are identified to ensure feasibility and safety of traffic flow. Three types of objective functions are introduced for optimizing lane-uses and signal operation, including 1) flow ratio minimization of a dual-ring signal control system, 2) cycle length minimization, and 3) capacity maximization. RESULTS : The three types of model were evaluated in terms of minimizing delay time. From the experimental results, the flow ratio minimization model proved to be more effective in reducing delay time than cycle length minimization and capacity maximization models and provided reasonable cycle lengths located between those of other two models. CONCLUSIONS : It was concluded that the flow ratio minimization objective function is the proper one to implement for lane-uses and signal settings optimization to reduce delay time for signalized intersections.

간선도로 연동화 신호최적화 모형 KS-SIGNAL의 수행속도 향상을 위한 연구 (A Study on Improvement of Run-Time in KS-SIGNAL, Traffic Signal Optimization Model for Coordinated Arterials)

  • 본 논문에서는 기개발된 간선도로 연동화 신호최적화 모형인 KS-SIGNAL의 최적화 수행속도를 향상시키기 위한 새로운 모형식을 개발하였다. 이를 위하여 기존 모형식의 수정, MILP 최적화 루틴의 탑재, 좌회전 현시순서와 관련한 제약식의 추가 등 3단계에 걸친 모형 개선 작업이 이루어졌으며, 그 결과 기존 모형식과 비교 99%이상의 최적화 수행시간 단축 효과를 창출하였다. 개발된 KS-SIGNAL 모형식은 여러 다양한 경우에 대해 모의실험을 실시한 결과 교통량보다는 교차로간 거리에 더욱 민감하게 반응함으로써 지체최소화모형 (TRANSYT-7F)보다는 통과폭최대화모형(PASSER-II)에 더 가까운 신호시간계획을 산출하였다. 더불어 본 모형식이 좌회전 현시순서를 최적화시키지 못하는 TRANSYT-7F 모형식과 통과폭을 최대화하나 통과폭 밖의 직진교통류를 고려하지 못하는 PASSER-II 모형식, 그리고 이들의 단점을 상호보완한 결합모형과 비교하여 더 적은 지체를 유발시키는 보다 더 효율적인 신호시간계획을 창출하는 것으로 분석되었다.

  • A psychoacoustic model based noise shaping method is proposed, where noise's presence with a host signal will not be perceptually noticeable. The derivation of imperceptible noise levels from the masking thresholds of the signal involves a deconvolution associated with the spreading function in the psychoacoustic model, which results in an ill-conditioned problem. In this paper, the problem is formulated as a constrained optimization, and it is demonstrated that the solution provides noise shaping where the noise excitation level conforms to the masking thresholds of the signal.

  • In speech synthesis, LF model is widely used for excitation signal for voice source coding system. But LF model does not represent the harmonic frequencies of excitation signal. We propose an effective method which use sinusoidal functions for representing the harmonics of voice source signal. The proposed method could achieve more exact voice source waveform and better synthesized speech quality than LF model.

  • We can reduce delays and number of stops in the traffic area by means of optimal design of traffic signal system. A computer simulation model to simulate and predict the traffic signal system of Jong-Ro 4-th street was developed for determination of optimal cycle time. This simulation model was developed in relation to Jong-Ro 4-th street, but this model can be applied for other places with small modification.

  • Fingerprinting is a widely used positioning technology for received signal strength (RSS) based wireless local area network (WLAN) positioning system. Though spatial RSS variation is the key factor of the positioning technology, temporal RSS variation needs to be considered for more accuracy. To deal with the spatial and temporal RSS characteristics within a unified framework, this paper proposes an extended signal propagation mode (ESPM) and a fingerprint generation method. The proposed spatiotemporal fingerprint generation method consists of two algorithms running in parallel; Kalman filtering at several measurement-sampling locations and Kriging to generate location fingerprints at dense reference locations. The two different algorithms are connected by the extended signal propagation model which describes the spatial and temporal measurement characteristics in one frame. An experiment demonstrates that the proposed method provides an improved positioning accuracy.

  • In this paper, we introduce the direction of arrival(DOA) estimation of distributed signal based on the improved ESPRIT algorithm. Most research on the estimation of DOA has been performed based on the assumption that the signal sources are point sources. However, we consider a two-dimensional distributed signal source model using improved ESPRIT algorithm. In the distributed signal source model, a source is represented by two parameters, the azimuth angle and elevation angle. We address the estimation of the elevation and azimuth angles of distributed sources based on the parametric source modeling in the three-dimensional space with two uniform linear arrays. The array output vector is obtained by integrating a steering vector over all direction of arrival with the weighting of a distributed source density function. We also develop an efficient estimation procedures that can reduce the computational complexity. Some examples are shown to demonstrate explicity the estimation procedures under the distributed signal source model.
