  • Recently, the plastic resin such as PC, ABS are widely used in IT market. Especially, in most cases the keypads mounted on the mobile phone are the dual-injection-plated type. Environmental regulation is based on the quality of injection-molded products and the minimum process steps are required to avoid the plating defects. Various parameters to produce the injection-molded plastic products make it difficult to obtain the desired stability. However, the past experience and the use of CAE analysis make it possible to predict the problems occurred in injection molding process. Especially, the problems of the weld lines such as runner balancing, bending, deformation and forming defects can be solved systematically and minimized by CAE analysis. Through this study, the non-uniform volumetric shrinkage and the difference in temperature distribution induce the deformation and the high value of stress causes the problems such as crack.

  • Injection molding process was taken to manufacture DC motor case that surrounds DC motor used as automobile parts. Up to now, DC motor case has been made by the deep drawing process or bending process of metal materials. Simulations of filling, packing and cooling processes were done by CAE tool like Moldflow software. Optimal delivery system was decided from the analysis of flow balance, and packing and cooling analyses were performed by using the design of experiment to minimize the volumetric shrinkage of molded part and the temperature difference between mold and part.

  • This study is to investigate the probability to develop the AE Water-reducing agent which can decrease the bleeding by mixing melamine type super-plasticizer(SP) and methyl cellulose(MC) viscosity agent. According to the result, as the mixing ratio of melamine type SP and MC viscosity agent increases, the bleeding is reduced due to a increase of the air content. When the mixing ratio of melamine type SP and MC viscosity agent is 1:2 and 1;3 at the water content of 165kg/$m^3$ and 175kg/$m^3$ respectively, slump and air content are satisfied and bleeding is reduced to some extent, so this is determined as the mixing ratio of AE water reducing agent for reduction of bleeding. It is prove that the developed AE water reducing agent for reduction of bleeding can reduce the amount of bleeding and prohibit the plastic shrinkage crack by slowing down the bleeding speed. Compressive strength of hardened concrete does not make any difference in comparison with plain concrete.

  • Recently, the damaged concrete structures are often strengthened or repaired using the polymer concrete or the polymer cement mortar. In the repaired concrete structures at early ages, internal stresses could be developed due to the differential drying shrinkage of the repair material. Due to the difference of the thermal coefficients of the repair material and existing concrete, additional stresses also could be developed as the structures are subjected to the ambient temperature changes. Theses environmentally-induced stresses can sometimes be large enough to cause damage to the structures, such as debonding of the interface between the two materials. In this study, a rational procedure was developed where anchors can be designed and installed to prevent damages in such structures by thermally-induced stresses. Finally, through the experimental and numerical study, the effects of the repair method using anchors with debonding was investigated and discussed the results.

  • The large injection molded parts technology such as instrument panel, front and rear bumper are presented for a precision molding. Some lead time and cost are required to product these part from design to mass product. Recently, CAE is widely used in product design, mold design and analysis of molding conditions to reduce time and cost. The optimal molding conditions can be obtained by DOE(Design of Experiment). The optimal design applications with CAE and DOE have been used in small molded parts. However, application to the large molded body is not reported. In this paper, optimization of injection molding process is studied for quality control in mass production of automobile bumper. Mold temperature difference is chosen through robust design of injection molding process, the molding process being optimized in term of shrinkage and deflection. The optimal conditions through DOE are validated by using injection molding analysis.

  • The precast concrete deck is one of suitable solutions for replacement and new construction in urban area. However, the precast concrete deck could be a weak point of the steel plate girder bridges structurally due to the connections between precast panels in the longitudinal direction. Thereafter, it is necessary for improvement of durability and load carrying capacity to introduce the prestress force in the longitudinal direction Some cracks of connections at the precast concrete deck may be occurred due to live loads, the difference of temperature and long-term effects. The shrinkage and creep of concrete may significantly affect long-term behaviors which occur tensile stresses at the precast concrete deck of steel plate girder bridges. In this study, the time-dependant analysis program has been developed to determine the initial prestress force in the longitudinal direction considering loss of stress at the precast concrete deck. Also it has been estimated the initial prestress force by construction stages and shapes of girder.

  • It was found from the previous experimental studies that the long-term deformation of SRC columns was quite different from that of RC columns. A new approach method is needed to quantitatively predict the long-term deformation of SRC columns. In this study, the causes of the difference between the behaviors of RC and SRC columns are investigated and discussed. SRC columns exhibit a time-dependent relative humidity distribution in a cross section differently from that of RC columns due to the presence of a flange, which interferes with the moisture diffusion of concrete. This different relative humidity distribution may reduce the drying shrinkage and the drying creep in comparison with RC columns.

  • A new process which co-fires the low-firing-substrate and copper conductor was studied to achieve good bond strength and low sheet resistance of conductor. Cupric oxide is used as the precursor of conductive material in the new method and the firing atmosphere of the new process is changed sequently in air H2N2. The addition of cupric oxide and variations of firing atmosphere permited complete binder-burnout in comparison with the conventional method and contributed to the improvement of resistance and bonding behaviors. The potimum conditions of this experiment to obtain the satisfactory resistance and bond strength are as follows (binder-burnout temperature in air; 55$0^{\circ}C$, reducing temperature in H2; 40$0^{\circ}C$ for 30 min, ratio of copper and cupric oxide; 60:40~30:70 wt%). The bonding mechanism between the substrate and metal was explained by metal diffusion layer in the interface and the bond strength mainly depended on the stress caused by the difference of shrinkage and thermal expansion coefficient between the substrate and metal.

  • In this study, we experimentally evaluated the mechanical properties and geometric form accuracy in FDM 3D printing processes based on the printing direction, building direction, and layer thickness. The specimen test results showed that the tensile strength increased by over 33% in the printing direction compared to the direction perpendicular to printing and the tensile strength becomes larger as the layer thickness decreased. Furthermore, the tensile and impact strengths in the building direction were significantly reduced due to the difference in the interlayer joining and bonding strengths of the fused material. Additionally, shrinkage of the material due to phase change induced curl distortion especially in thin and long 3D-printed products, which increased as the layer thickness increased.

  • This study deals with the high temperature (600-135$0^{\circ}C$) properties of Kaolin-Phosphate-Water systems. Phosphoric acid, mono aluminum phosphate, mono ammonium phosphate, the mixture of phosphoric acid and mono aluminum phosphate, and the mixture of phosphoric acid and mono ammonium phosphate were used to characterize the M.O.R of the systems with to quantity of phosphates and firing temperature. Firing shrinkage, creeptest, DTA, TGA, and X-ray diffraction patterns were also measured in order to investigate the factors of strengthening. The resules of the experiments are as follows: 1. Linear shrinkage of kaolin-phosphate systems become larger as the firing temperature rise, and generally in the firing temperature of $600^{\circ}C$ and 100$0^{\circ}C$ the test pieces with phosphate binder show larger then Kaolin-Water system in linear shrinkage and reversed trends were found at 120$0^{\circ}C$ and 135$0^{\circ}C$. 2. Cold M.O.R. of kaolin-phosphate systems show higher trends in strength as the firing temperature rise. Comparing M.O.R. of test pieces after firing at 135$0^{\circ}C$, the mixture of phosphoric acid-mono aluminum phosphate, and phosphoric acid mono ammonium phosphate systems show higher strength than kaolin-mono aluminum phosphate system which widely used, and it shows highest strength when the mole ratio of phosphoric acid and mono ammonium phosphate is 1:1 among the test pieces of kaolin-phosphate systems. 3. The refractoriness of kaolin-phosphate systems are more deteriorated than Kaolin-Water system, and generally, the more addition of phosphate, the lower the refractoriness, however in the range of 4-8% phosphate addition, the difference of the fusion temperature is about 7$0^{\circ}C$. 4. The test pieces of T1 and T2 in creep test were same or even higher than kaolin-water system when 6% of phosphoric acid-mono ammonium phosphate was added to kaolin. 5. In case where the phosphoric acid-mono ammonium phosphate was added to kaolin in mole ratio 1:1 the cold M.O.R., after firing at 135$0^{\circ}C$, refractoriness and $T_2$ in creep test show better results than kaolin-mono-aluminum phosphate system which is widely used. 6. Phosphoric acid and mono ammonium phosphate react with kaolin in temperature over 100$0^{\circ}C$, and it forms aluminum phosphate.
