A Study on Mariners' Standard Behavior for Collision Avoidance (2) - A proposal of modeling method for collision avoidance based on human factors -

  • We've investigated the characteristics on mariner's behavior in the collision situation through a full-mission ship handling simulator and considered that it's necessary to model the standard avoiding behavior of mariners in order to apply the obtained results more widely and effectively. Thus we described the contents of standard avoiding behavior taken by mariners in the collision situation and established the concept of the standard model based on human factors for collision avoidance in a previous study. As a following study, this paper is to propose the method of modeling on mariners' standard behavior for collision avoidance by analyzing the contents of mariner's information processing and the related factors using regression analysis. As a result, we confirmed the influence of relating factors to avoiding behavior in mariner's deciding decisions and proposed the modeling method of mariners' standard behavior for collision avoidance with a example of recognition model.

A Study on the Development the Maritime Safety Assessment Model in Korea Waterway

  • Although Korea coastal area has the increasing potential marine accident due to frequent ship's encounter, increased vessel traffic and large vessel, there is no specific model to evaluate the navigating vessel's risk considering the domestic traffic situation. The maritime transport environmental assessment is necessary due to the amended maritime traffic law. However, marine safety diagnosis is now carried out by foreign model. In this paper, therefore, we suggest a domestic traffic model reflecting the characteristics of korea coastal area and navigator's risk as we named PARK(Potential Assessment of Risk) model. We can evaluate the subjective risk by establishing the model and model output into maritime risk exposure system. To evaluate this model's effectiveness, we used ship handling simulation and applied, analyzed collision accident which occurred in korea coastal area. And also, we applied integrated to an ECDIS program for monitoring traffic risk of vessels with real time based AIS data and apply to evaluate traffic risk in busan harbor waterway. As a result, we could evaluate busan harbor waterway risk effectively.

  • 해양사고 원인의 대부분을 차지하고 있는 인적오류에 의한 운항과실에는 관련 지식의 결여, 잘못 이해하고 있는 지식, 적용절차의 미숙 등을 들 수 있다. 최근 해양경찰 경비함정에 장착되고 있는 추진기 형태를 살펴보면, 해상치안 수요에 따라 다양화 되고 있는 추세이다. 특히, 소형 경비정에 주로 장착되었던 워터제트 추진기가 중대형 경비함으로 점차 확대되어 전체 함정의 50%에 이르고 있으며, 축 형식은 2에서 4축, 버켓 유형도 전후진과 조향 제어방식이 전혀 다른 '이중역전버켓'과 '단일역전버켓' 방식으로 구분된다. 이러한 운항체계의 다양화는 운항자의 인적과실 요인을 증가시킬 수 있다. 그러나 워터제트 유형별 고유의 특성에 알맞은 조종법의 연구는 부족한 편이다. 이 논문에서는 워터제트 유형별 후진성능을 기반으로 외력의 도움 없이 해양경찰 전용부두의 요건에 적합한 횡이동 방법을 분석하였다. 이어서, 선박조종시뮬레이터를 활용하여 실험하고, 실험이 곤란한 워터제트 방식 함정은 함정장들의 인터뷰를 통하여 비교 검증하였다. 이를 기반으로 워터제트 운항 지식의 올바른 습득과 기술적 측면의 인적오류를 최소화하여 해상치안활동에 기반인 함정의 안전운항에 기여하고자 한다.

스프링잉 응답을 위한 유탄성 해석의 수치기법에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Numerical Methodologies of Hydroelasticity Analysis for Ship Springing Problem)

  • Numerical methodology to solve ship springing problem, which is basically fluid-structure interaction problem, was explored in this study. Solution of this hydroelasticity problem was sought by coupling higher order B-spline Rankine panel method and finite element method in time domain, each of which is introduced for fluid and structure domain respectively. Even though varieties of different combinations in terms of numerical scheme are possible and have been tried by many researchers to solve the problem, no systematic study regarding the characteristics of each scheme has been done so far. Here, extensive case studies have been done on the numerical schemes especially focusing on the iteration method, FE analysis of beam-like structure, handling of forward speed problem and so on. Two different iteration scheme, Newton style one and fixed point iteration, were tried in this study and results were compared between the two. For the solution of the FE-based equation of motion, direct integration and modal superposition method were compared with each other from the viewpoint of its efficiency and accuracy. Finally, calculation of second derivative of basis potential, which is difficult to obtain with accuracy within grid-based method like BEM was discussed.

해양플랜트 프로세스 배관 Pressure Leak Test의 품질 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on a Quality Characteristics of Pressure Leak Test of Process Piping for Offshore Plant)

  • The process gas piping of the offshore plant can cause a massive explosion if the gas leakage occurs during operation. For the purpose of precaution of gas leakage accident, an air pressure test is performed on the process equipment tests using a test pump as much as the power to the piping inner side, mix 99% nitrogen gas and 1% helium gas. The purpose of the air pressure test is to check the work conformity process by handling and regulation for initial piping process, assembly, installation of module, welding, center alignment of the pipes assembling flange gasket in an unrestrained free state. In this paper, the regulation of the problematic air pressure test was analyzed and the solution criteria were established. And leakage tests of existing equipment were performed applying these solution methods. As a result, it was confirmed that there was no problem.

네트워크 기반의 간이 선박조종 시뮬레이터 개발 (Development of the Ship Manoeuvring PC Simulator Based on the Network)

  • 선박의 조종운동특성은 선종뿐만 아니라 같은 선박이라 할지라도 속도나 흘수에 의해서도 달라진다. 최근에 초대형선박이 크게 증가하고 있어 해양사고 발생 시 막대한 물적, 환경적 피해가 발생할 수 있으며, 이에 따라 선박조종의 중요성은 더욱 커지고 있다. IMO는 STCW 95 개정협약서를 통해서 해기사들이 시뮬레이터를 이용한 교육을 받도록 강제하고 있다. 그러나 Full Mission Ship Handling Simulator(FMSS)는 고가일 뿐만 아니라 사용하는 데에 제한이 많고, PC기반의 시뮬레이터는 서로 다른 사용자가 함께 시뮬레이션을 할 수 없다는 단점이 존재한다. 본 연구는 네트워크를 기반으로 두 사람이 각자의 PC를 이용하여 함께 시뮬레이션을 할 수 있도록 하여 FMSS와 PC기반의 시뮬레이터가 갖는 단점을 해결하고자 Nomoto 응답모델의 해석 및 수치계산과 레이더 기능 구현, 데이터통신 프로토콜 설계, Graphic User Interface(GUI) 구축 등을 통해 네트워크 기반의 시뮬레이터를 구현하였다. 그리고 개발된 시뮬레이터의 유효성을 검증하기 위해 한국선급, IMO의 선박조종성기준에 따라 시뮬레이션 결과와 한국해양대학교 한바다호의 실선시험결과를 비교·분석하였다. 항목별 시험결과를 정리하면 상대오차 범위는 0 ~ 32.1 %, 평균 13.7 % 이었으며, IMO 선박조종성기준을 모두 만족하였다.

  • in the real world situations that some jobs need be processed only on certain limited machines frequently occur due to the capacity restrictions of machines such as tools fixtures or material handling equipment. In this paper we consider n-job non-preemptive and m parallel machines scheduling problem having two machines group. The objective function is to minimize the sum of earliness and tardiness with different release times and due dates. The problem is formulated as a mixed integer programming problem. The problem is proved to be Np-complete. Thus a heuristic is developed to solve this problem. To illustrate its suitability and efficiency a proposed heuristic is compared with a genetic algorithm and tabu search for a large number of randomly generated test problems in ship engine assembly shop. Through the experimental results it is showed that the proposed algorithm yields good solutions efficiently.

  • In these days many people have studied on the berthing problem. The operation rules differ from port so port and the problem is highly dependent on the environment of port. The purpose of this study is to develop a decision support system decision makers of the berthing problem for Inchon Port. The system is developed with graphic user interface(GUI) using user-interactive approach and some general and specific rules for Inchon Prot are considered. The system is composed of the following four parts ; the input/output part, the automatic berthing part by the system using rules, the manual berthing part by user, and the part for modifying results or handling exceptional events. The system is designed to assign ship to berths by matching the characteristics with environmental and operational constraints of Inchon Port. We expect that this system can provide decision makers with an efficient and fast way to berthing and can reduce wastes of time, space, and manpower in port operations.

연안복합어선 선장의 업무 특성과 해양사고 위험요소에 대한 분석 (Analysis of the working characteristics of the skipper and risk factors of marine accident in Korea coastal composite fishing vessels)

  • This research carried out a study on the job characteristics of the skipper of the coastal composite fishing vessels in order to find a way to prevent the ship collision caused by the highest human error among the marine casualty of fishing boats. Video observation was used as the research method in which six CCD cameras were installed on the vessel to collect image data and data extracted from the image were analyzed to derive the results of the functional activity of skipper according to the fishing operation process of experimental fishing vessel. The results are as follows. The working process of the experimental fishing vessel consisted of navigation for fishing ground, setting line, waiting for hauling line, hauling line and navigation to homeport. In these processes, the skipper was performing watchkeeping in the wheelhouse in which he carried out a single task, a dual task that performed two tasks simultaneously, and a triple task that performed two or more tasks simultaneously. In addition, one of the risk factors causing the collision was a no watchkeeping in the wheelhouse for navigating for fishing ground, waiting for hauling line, and hauling line at 25.4%, 64.6% and 0.3%, respectively among the marine casualty while drowsiness caused 1.2% of the marine casualty in navigating for fishing ground. Concurrent tasks that simultaneously perform two or more tasks that can overlook any other important duties while carrying out watchkeeping in the wheelhouse include 51.3% of navigation for fishing ground, 81.9% of setting line, 19.0% of waiting for hauling line, 87.9% of hauling, and 88.7% of navigation to homeport. The above concurrent tasks yielded an average of 66.1%. Experimental fishing vessels are required to focus on ship handling operations related to fishery operations, and the skipper is assigned more activities and attention to fishery related tasks. Therefore, it is considered desirable to build a collision prevention system that is appropriate to the characteristics of the skipper's work, escaping from transferring the responsibility of ship collision to the skipper completely.

국제해상운송에서 위험화물에 대한 운송인 정보 제공 방법에 관한 연구 (The Aim to Provide Information of the Carrier for Dangerous Cargo in International Maritime Transportation)

  • 국가 간 무역거래 중 해상운송의 위험화물에 대한 비중이 늘어나는 추세이며 위험화물의 종류와 형태는 매우 다양해지고, 복잡해지면서 범위 또한 넓게 확장되고 있다. 이런 이유로 운송수단인 선박과 다른 화물의 안전을 위협하게 될 사고의 위험성은 증가하게 됨은 물론이고 심각한 피해를 발생 시킨다. 운송인은 위험화물에 대한 특별한 관리와 취급을 필요로 하며 안전한 운송을 위하여 주의의무가 있다. 따라서 송하인은 선적하기 전에 위험화물의 성질과 특성을 운송인에게 통지할 의무가 있으며 통지여부에 따라 운송인의 책임이 달라진다. 본 연구에서는 위험화물의 개념과 분류 및 국제해상운송규범인 헤이그 규칙, 함부르크 규칙과 로테르담규칙의 운송인의 위험화물 책임에 관한 조항을 비교, 분석하고 사례 분석 후, 국제해상운송에 있어 위험화물 취급, 관리자인 운송인에게 정보를 제공하는데 목적을 두고자 한다.
