본 시험은 페레니얼라이그라스 위주 초지에서 목초 및 잡초의 건물중의 분포와 기능 및 목초와 잡초간 경합에 의한 상호작용을 조사하였다. 페레니얼라이그라스 위주 초지를 조파조성 및 조파 조성후 보파 관리하여 연 3회 예취와 방목이용하고 이 초지에서 발생량이 많은 잡초인 냉이, 바랭이와 피에 대하여 조파 및 보파한 채초지와 방목지에서 목초와 각 잡초간 상호작용을 측정하였다. 목초와 잡초간 상호작용의 측정을 위해 기대수량(expected yield : P), 상대지수(relative yield total : RYT), 보상지수(compensation index: CI) 및 형태지수 (morphological index: MI) 등 지수(Index)를 도입하였다. 도입된 이들 지수의 측정은 봄, 여름 및 가을의 각 예취 직전에 이루어졌는데 측정된 각 지수는 각 처리구별 예취 시기별 및 잡초 종류 따른 차이와 변화가 인정되었다. 기대수량의 경우 가을 이용시기에 보파에 의해 약간 증가하였으나 상대수량에 있어 0.17에서 0.41 범위에 있어 크게 개선되지는 않는 것으로 나타났다. 보상지수는 -0.3에서 -0.6 범위로 모두 과소보상(+, --)으로 나타나 잡초에 의한 수량감소가 크게 이루어진 것으로 나타났다. 페레니얼라이그라스 위주 초지에서 보상지수를 감소시키는 주요 잡초인 바랭이, 피의 경우 방목이용에 따른 페레니얼 위주 초지의 개선효과 보다 조파 및 조파 후 보파관리에 의한 개선효과는 크지 않았다.

Indirect fluorescent antibody test(IFAT) and enzyme-linked imuunosorbent assay (IgG-ELISA) as serological diagnostic tools were conducted to evaluate the usefulness for diagnosis of canine babesiosis infected with Babesia gibsoni in domestic various dog breeds, american pit bullterrier, military shepherd, and mongrel dogs. The results obtained from this study were abstracted as follows. The nonionic detergent Triton X-100 and absorbent bio-bead $SM_2$ were useful reagents for the preparation of pure merozoite antigen of B gibsoni to be used in ELISA. The optimum reaction in ELISA was shown when the protein concentration of ELISA antigen was measured as 625ng/ml and the conjugate concentration was diluted into 1/6000 fold. The average OD value of ELISA in sera determined with negative responses in IFAT was measured as $0.255{\pm}0.051$(490nm) and the cut - off value of OD was determined as 0.399(490nm). The serum antibodies in both of IFAT and ELISA were detected on one week after artificially infected with B gibsoni and these high antibody titers, 512X in IFAT and 1024X in ELISA, were long lasted until 15 weeks after infection. The reproducibility of reaction and stability of the antigen absorbed microtitration polystyrene plate preserved in $4^{\circ}C$ refrigerator and $-20^{\circ}C$ freezer, respectively could be lasted until 135 days after storage. The positive rates in IFAT by dog breeds were shown 8.1%(60/744 heads) in mongrel dogs, 81.3%(78/96 heads) in american pit bullterrier and 15.6%(15/96 heads) in military shepherd, while the positive rate in ELISA shown 17.6%(131/744 heads) in mongrel dogs, 83.3%(80/96 heads) in american pit bullterrier and 36.5%(35/96 heads) in military shepherd, respiectively. In the total of 936 heads surveyed with IFAT and ELISA the positive rates in IFAT and ELISA were 16.4%(153/936 heads) and 26.3%(246/936 heads), respectivily. Agreement of reactions between IFAT and ELISA was shown 82.4% in 936 dog sera. The specificity and sensitivity of ELISA reaction were 83.5% and 76.5%, respectively. From the conclusion obtained in this study it was evaluated that IFAT and ELISA were useful as highly specific, sensitive and stable serelogical tools for the diagnosis of canine babesiosis in Korea.

홍합을 함유한 숙취 해소용 식품 개발의 근거를 확보하기 위하여 12종류의 열수 추출물을 제조하였다 - A(겨우살이); B(냉이); C(칡); D(콩나물); E(헛개나무); F(홍합); G(홍합과 겨우살이); H(홍합과 냉이); I(홍합과 칡); J(홍합과 콩나물); K(홍합과 헛개나무). C 추출물이 alcohol dehydrogenase(ADH)와 acetaldehyde dehydrogenase(ALDH)의 활성을 가장 크게 증가시켰으나, 홍합과 혼합한 경우에는 상승 효과를 보이지 않았다. 칡을 함유한 경우를 제외하고는 H 추출물이 높은 ADH($237.4{\pm}1.7%$)와 ALDH($136.5{\pm}2.1%$) 활성을 보였다. 또한, H 추출물은 가장 높은 DPPH 라디칼 소거능($93.9{\pm}0.1%$)과 안지오텐신 전환효소(ACE) 저해능($42.7{\pm}1.6%$)을 나타내었다. 홍합과 냉이를 혼합한 경우에는 alcohol dehydrogenase 활성과 ACE 저해능이 상승되는 시너지 효과를 확인하였다.

Visualization has played an essential role in the development of our understanding of the complex unsteady flows associated with the initiation, propagation, and extinction of detonation waves. These methods and application to various aspects of detonation are illustrated by results obtained in my laboratory, particularly using combinations of the PLIF technique with other methods. Examples shown will include detonation initiation by projectiles, diffraction over ramps and steps, diffraction out of tubes, detonation implosion, and the cellular structure of detonation waves.

원심력을 이용한 대표적인 대기오염 방지 장치인 싸이클론은 1800년대 후반이래 공기나 배출가스로부터의 분진제거 및 입자분리에 폭 넓게 사용되어 왔다. 일반적으로 싸이클론은 간단한 구조로 되어 있으며, 조작이 용이하고 운전비용이 저렴할 뿐만 아니라 가혹조건에서의 사용이 가능하다는 장점이 있다 (Shepherd and Lapple, 1939). 입자의 관성력에 의해 분진을 분리하는 싸이클론으로서는 상대적으로 낮은 관성효과를 지니는 미세입자(주로 10$\mu\textrm{m}$ 이하)들에 대한 제어효율이 낮을 수 밖에 없다(Dirge and Leith, 1985). Tricuspid valve dysplasia was diagnosed in 2 month-old german shepherd dog. Radiographic and echocardiographic examination was performed and they revealed severe dilatation of the right atrium, dilatation of the right ventricle, and septal leaflet tethered to the right side of the septum. On Doppler echocardiography, tricuspid valve incompetence was detected, flow velocity ranging from 3-4 m/sec. Color Doppler examination showed large turbulent jet in the right atrium.

Lameness of front limbs or hind limbs was occurred in German Shepherd dogs firm one brood bitch between 5 and 6 months of age. Physic81 examinations revealed pain associated with deep palpation of the affected area(u1nar, humerus, tibia, etc). But, no significant result was found for the clinical test including complete blood test and so oa Radiographic examination showed an increased radiopacity in the region of the nutrient foremen. Panosteitis was diagnosed on the basis of breed age, clinical signs and radiographic signs.

A 6 yers old German Shepherd dog was diagnosed to a ruptured gallbladder subsquently causing a diffuse peritonitis with bile-contaminated ascites. Surgical exploration could not determine its causes of pathogenesis. A marked leukocytosis and increased alkaline phosphotase were the pronounced clinical pathologic features. Delayed surgical exploration was critical therapeutic failure of this particular case. An immediate surgical intervention could be a life saving therapy of choise. The author report an uncommon clinical case presentation of the ruptured gallbladder in a dog and an importance of immediate surgical correction.

Intestinal adenocacinomas are uncommon in dogs, and they occur most frequently in the colon and rectum of animals averaging 8-9 years old. Also, they have been reported rarely in cattle, goats, horses and swine. This tumors occur slightly higher in males than in females. Boxers, collies, poodles, and German shepherds are prediposed.
