  • In direct vehicle teleoperation, a human operator drives a vehicle at a distance through a pair of master and slave device. However, if there is time delay, it is difficult to remotely drive the vehicle due to slow response. In order to address this problem, we introduced a novel methodology of shared vehicle teleoperation using a virtual driving interface. The methodology was developed with four components: 1) virtual driving environment, 2) interface for virtual driving environment, 3) path generator based on virtual driving trajectory, 4) path following controller. Experimental results showed the effectiveness of the proposed approach in simple and cluttered driving environment as well. In the experiments, we compared two sampling methods, fixed sampling time and user defined instant, and finally merged method showed best remote driving performance in term of completion time and number of collision.

  • During the process of bilateral teleoperation, operators not only need to perform complex maintenance tasks but also have to constantly monitor the safety of the operation, leading to reduced operational efficiency. Therefore, in this paper, we introduce a shared autonomous scheme that intervenes in the operator's command input when necessary, autonomously ensuring the safe operation of the manipulator by employing a rolling horizon planning controller based on Nonlinear Model Predictive Control (NMPC). This controller considers the motion boundaries and collision avoidance constraints of the manipulator, accompanied by the design of corresponding objective functions. To validate the effectiveness of the proposed method, we conduct tests on collision-free trajectory tracking and comprehensive performance with collision constraints, confirming the feasibility and excellent performance of the approach.

  • A shared compliant control scheme based on IMC is proposed for the position-force force reflecting control system. The controller of the slave manipulator is designed by IMC method for the open loop unstable plant. The compliant control is implemented by first order low pass filter. In the proposed scheme, the slave manipulator well tracks the position of the master manipulator in free space and the compliance of the slave manipulator is autonomously controlled in contact condition. The simulation results show that the excellence of the proposed controller.
