박판재 변형의 가열교정에서 가열면적의 영향 (Effects of Heating Conditions in the Straightening of Sheet Metal Distortion)

  • Use of sheet metal structure is increased in various fields such as automobile, aerospace and communication equipment industry. When this structure is welded, welding distortion is generated due to the non-uniformity of temperature distribution. Recently welding distortion becomes a matter of great importance in the structure manufacture industry because it deteriorates the product's quality by bringing about shape error. Accordingly many studies for solving the problems by controlling the welding distortion are being performed. However, it is difficult to remove all kinds of distortion by welding process, though various kinds of methods for reducing distortion are applied to production. Consequently, straightening process is operated if the high precision quality is requested after welding. The local heating method induces compression plastic deformation by thermal expansion in the heating stage and then leaves constriction of length direction in the cooling stage. Accordingly, in the case of sheet metal structure, straightening effect is expected by heating for the part of distortion. This study includes numerical analysis of straightening effect by the local heating method in distortion comes from production of welded sheet metal structure. Particularly straightening effect followed by dimensions of heating area is analyzed according to the numerical analysis. The numerical analysis is performed by constructing 3-dimensional finite element model for 0.4mm stainless steel-sheet metal. Results of this study confirm that straightening effect changes as heating area increases and the optimum value of heating area that proves the maximum straightening effect exists.

  • 외부유체를 유한요소화 할 경우 경계조건을 만족시키도록 무한반경까지를 모델링 할 수 없으므로 이를 보정하기 위하여 유한경계에서의 경계조건으로 발산경계조건을 사용하였다. 외부유체의 모델링에서 적용한 수치모델은 쉘 요소 및 유체요소를 축대칭 구조물의 특성을 이용한 링요소로 모델화하여 자오방향 모우드와 주변방향의 파형 모우드를 변수분리함으로써 지진하중 등의 해석에서도 수십 개의 링요소에 의해 정해에 근사한 값을 얻을 수 있도록 하였다. 축대칭 쉘 구조물과 유체-구조물의 상호관계는 접촉면에서 구조물의 가속도와 유체의 압력관계를 이용한 부가질량을 유체를 비점성, 비압축 및 비회전으로 가정하여 유한요소법에 의해 구하였다. 이에 따라 구조물의 변형에 따른 외부유체 효과를 고려한 부가질량매트릭스를 얻을 수 있었으며, 이에 대한 수치해석을 통하여 고유진동해석 및 지진하중을 주하중으로 한 동적해석을 실시하였다.

콘형 복합재 격자 구조의 강성 평가를 위한 Subelement의 압축 시험 및 후프 링의 인장 시험 (Compression Test of Subelement and Tension Test of Hoop Ring for Stiffness Evaluation of Conical Composite Lattice Structures)

  • 콘형 복합재 격자 구조체의 강성 평가를 위한 두 종류의 시편 단위 압축 및 인장 시험을 수행하였으며 유한요소해석 결과와 비교하였다. 구조체는 높이별로 반경이 변화하는 콘형이므로 단순 압축 및 인장 시험이 어려우므로 시험 수행이 가능한 형태의 시편 및 지그를 제작하여 시험을 수행하였다. 압축 시험이 가능하도록 단위 격자 구조체를 Subelement 형태로 가공하였으며, 압축 시험을 수행하여 측정된 섬유방향 압축 변형률을 유한요소해석 결과와 비교하여 헬리컬 리브의 강성을 확인하였다. 후프 리브의 강성 평가를 위해서는 구조체에서 후프 링 시편을 가공하여 인장 시험을 수행하였다. 후프 링에 인장 하중을 가하여 굽힘 변형이 크게 발생하도록 하였으며, 두께 방향 섬유체적비를 고려한 유한요소해석 결과와 비교하여 후프 리브의 강성을 확인하였다.

3차원 플로팅 구조물의 반강접 접합부 해석 (Analysis of Semi-Rigid Connections on 3D Floating Structures)

  • 플로팅 상부구조물은 일반 건축물과 형태는 같지만 기초가 땅이 아닌 하부 부체에 지지되는 구조물로 파랑하중에 의한 영향을 크게 받으며, 파랑하중에 의한 하부구조물의 변형이 접합부에 영향을 미쳐 상부구조물의 이용자에게 사용성 및 안전성의 문제를 발생시키게 된다. 이에 따라 본 논문에서는 3차원 플로팅 구조물의 상부구조물과 하부구조물을 일체화한 전해석을 통하여 강접합과 반강접 접합에 대해 탄성 해석을 실시하였다. 구조물의 전해석과 하부구조물을 제외한 분리해석을 비교 분석 하였으며 탄성 해석을 통해 파랑하중의 CASE를 나누어 파랑하중의 변화에 따른 구조물의 모멘트 및 변위를 접합부에 따라 분류하고 비교하였다.

매설가스배관의 지진응답해석 (Earthquake Response Analysis of a Buried Gas Pipeline)

  • 본 연구에서는 국내에서 많이 사용되고 있는 매설가스배관인 X65를 선택하여 매설가스배관의 형태, 매설된 지반의 특성, 단일 및 복합입력지진파 그리고 매설깊이 등을 변수로 하여 시간이력 지진응답해석을 수행하였다. 해석적으로 예측된 변형률 및 상대변위는 국내도시가스 배관의 내진설계 세부기술기준에서 제시하고 있는 허용변형률 및 허용변위역량과 비교하였다. 비교해석결과, 배관의 변형률은 매설깊이와 지반조건에 영향을 받는 것을 알 수 있었다. 상대변위의 경우, 축 방향 상대변위는 매설깊이에 따른 영향을 받지 않는 반면에, 횡 방향 상대변위는 매설깊이와 지반조건에 영향을 받는 것을 알 수 있었다. 결론적으로 본 연구결과는 향후 매설가스배관의 지진건전도 평가에 좋은 자료를 제공할 것으로 사료된다.

현대 니트 패션에 나타난 과장성 (Exaggeration Shown in Contemporary Knit Fashion)

  • This research aims to explicate how we reveal our identity and emphasize beauty in our passion for beauty. It also attempts to find out our sense of beauty in exaggeration of visual expressions. The purpose is to represent how the contemporary knit fashion is various and exaggerated in our modern fashion world, and also to give the direction of new knitwear designs through the visual analysis of exaggerated knit fashion. Literature research was done by studying reference books and magazines, leading papers and based on a dissertation thesis. This study collected 787 designer's works published in the world's big Four collections from the 2000 S/S to 2011 S/S, in 23 seasons during 12 years. In answer to 9 experts about the criteria of classification, 520 works were chosen and analyzed according to the standard of exaggerated knitwear. The result of the study is the followings: The type of exaggeration shown in contemporary knit fashion was classified in three categories; Enlarge exaggeration, reduce exaggeration and transform exaggeration. As a sub-category, enlarge exaggeration was classified into three categories; Volume expansion and the expansion by the material, gauge and larger composition application expansion. Reduce exaggeration appeared as mini-reduction, skinny-reduction and transform exaggeration was respectively classified into deformation of the shape and patterns. The characteristics of exaggeration shown in contemporary knit fashion appeared as the new formative sense. In terms of fuller sense and surface, using various materials, gauge, changes in the composition represented challenges for textiles. The exaggerated contemporary knitwear expressed sex appeal using tight-fitting effect. Contemporary knit fashion simplified the design by taking advantage of the strong elastic attributes. It showed the beauty of women, expressed variability and limitless knit characteristics beyond the conventional thinking. In addition, it has been well represented as a form of freedom, amusement and diversity.

Impact of rock microstructures on failure processes - Numerical study based on DIP technique

  • It is generally accepted that material heterogeneity has a great influence on the deformation, strength, damage and failure modes of rock. This paper presents numerical simulation on rock failure process based on the characterization of rock heterogeneity by using a digital image processing (DIP) technique. The actual heterogeneity of rock at mesoscopic scale (characterized as minerals) is retrieved by using a vectorization transformation method based on the digital image of rock surface, and it is imported into a well-established numerical code Rock Failure Process Analysis (RFPA), in order to examine the effect of rock heterogeneity on the rock failure process. In this regard, the numerical model of rock could be built based on the actual characterization of the heterogeneity of rock at the meso-scale. Then, the images of granite are taken as an example to illustrate the implementation of DIP technique in simulating the rock failure process. Three numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the impact of actual rock heterogeneity due to spatial distribution of constituent mineral grains (e.g., feldspar, quartz and mica) on the macro-scale mechanical response, and the associated rock failure mechanism at the meso-scale level is clarified. The numerical results indicate that the shape and distribution of constituent mineral grains have a pronounced impact on stress distribution and concentration, which may further control the failure process of granite. The proposed method provides an efficient tool for studying the mechanical behaviors of heterogeneous rock and rock-like materials whose failure processes are strongly influenced by material heterogeneity.

Soil and ribbed concrete slab interface modeling using large shear box and 3D FEM

  • Cast in situ and grouted concrete helical piles with 150-200 mm diameter half cylindrical ribs have become an economical and effective choice in Shanghai, China for uplift piles in deep soft soils. Though this type of pile has been successful used in practice, the reinforcing mechanism and the contribution of the ribs to the total resistance is not clear, and there is no clear guideline for the design of such piles. To study the inclusion of ribs to the contribution of shear resistance, the shear behaviour between silty sand and concrete slabs with parallel ribs at different spacing and angles were tested in a large direct shear box ($600mm{\times}400mm{\times}200mm$). The front panels of the shear box are detachable to observe the soil deformation after the test. The tests were modelled with three-dimensional finite element method in ABAQUS. It was found that, passive zones can be developed ahead of the ribs to form undulated failure surfaces. The shear resistance and failure mode are affected by the ratio of rib spacing to rib diameter. Based on the shape and continuity of the failure zones at the interface, the failure modes at the interface can be classified as "punching", "local" or "general" shear failure respectively. With the inclusion of the ribs, the pull out resistance can increase up to 17%. The optimum rib spacing to rib diameter ratio was found to be around 7 based on the observed experimental results and the numerical modelling.

세라믹 단열 게이트를 이용한 블로우성형용 PET 프리폼의 백화현상 저감 기술 (Improving the Whitening Phenomenon Technology for Preform PET Injection Molding by Using a Ceramic Insulation Gate)

  • The purpose of this study is to improve the whitening phenomenon around the PET preform gate for blow molding. CAE analysis of plastic injection molding has been applied to design of preform shape and select the injection molding conditions. A ceramic insulation gate with lower thermal conductivity than metal is applied to improve the whitening phenomenon created around the gate in the injection molding process. According to the results of CAE analysis, the warpage deformation at the square corner was estimated to be about 0.34 mm at the bottom. From the results of the temperature history analysis, it was confirmed that the resin near the gate cooled more rapidly than the cavity. Ceramic insulated gates were fabricated to reduce the cooling rate and experiments were conducted to confirm the effectiveness of the whitening phenomenon improvement. As a result of the ceramic insulation gate experiment, it was confirmed that the whitening phenomenon was significantly reduced around the gate.

초고속 주행시 교량/토공 접속부 보강방안의 설계변수 분석 (Analysis of Design Parameters for Earthwork/Bridge Transition Structure for Ultra-High Speed Running)

  • 600km/h급 철도노반 개발은 초고속주행에 의한 동적상호작용의 예측이 어렵기 때문에 기술개발에 애로사항이 많다. 특히 교량/토공 접속부는 동적 상호작용을 포함하여 지지력, 압축, 침하, 배수, 유동 등의 영향 요소가 복합적으로 발생하는 구간으로서 접속부에서의 안정성이 확보된다면 초고속 열차용 토공노반의 안정성도 확보 가능할 것으로 예상된다. 본 논문에서는 초고속철도 접속구조개발의 기초 연구단계로서 국내 고속철도에서 적용하고 있는 접속부의 보강방안을 우선적으로 적용하여 초고속 주행시의 설계변수 영향을 해석적으로 검토하였다. 설계변수는 설계단계에서 검토 가능한 항목인 보강방안의 유무, 기하하적 형상, 재료의 강성 등이며, 분석내용은 초고속주행에 따른 궤도의 변형응답과 주행안정성을 검토하였다.
