  • In cognitive radio networks, acquirement of position information of primary user is very important to secondary network since localization information of primary users can be utilized for improving the spectrum efficiency of secondary network and for avoiding harmful interference to primary users by using proper power control. Among various location methods, Received Signal Strength (RSS)-based localization has been widely used for distance measurements in the location detection process despite its inherent inaccuracy because it can be easily implemented without any additional hardware cost. In the RSS-based localization, the distance is measured by the received signal strength, and distance error can be caused by many factors such as fading, shadowing and obstacle between two nodes. In the paper, therefore we propose a localization scheme based on estimation of path-loss exponent to localize the location of primary users more accurately. Through simulations, it is shown that the proposed scheme can provide less localization error and interference rate to primary users than other schemes.

  • Cognitive radio has been proposed as a promising dynamic spectrum allocation paradigm. In cognitive radio, spectrum sensing is a fundamental procedure that enables secondary users (unlicensed) employing unused portion of spectrum of primary users (licensed) without causing harmful interference. However, the performance of single-user spectrum-sensing scheme was limited by fading, noise uncertainty shadowing and hidden node problem. Cooperative spectrum sensing was proposed to mitigate these problem. In this paper, we observe cooperative sensing scheme with energy detection using three adaptive thresholds for local decision, which can mitigate sensing failure problem and improve sensing performance at local node. In cooperative scheme we employed OR rules as decision combining at fusion center. We evaluate our scheme through computer simulation, and the results show that with OR combination rule our scheme can achieve best performance than other schemes.

  • Wireless devices can communicate between each other without existing infrastructure in mobile Ad-hod network. Ad hoc networks can be used under difficult conditions, where it is difficult to construct infrastructures, such as shadowing areas, disaster areas, war area, and so on. In order to support to considerable and various wireless services, more spectrum resources are needed. However, efficient utilization of the frequency resource is difficult because of spectrum scarcity and the conventional frequency regulation. Ad-hoc networks employing cognitive radio (CR) system that guarantee high spectrum utilization provide effective way to increase the network capacity. In this paper, we simulate and compare the performance of conventional single and cooperative spectrum sensing with CR system using ad-hoc networks. And we demonstrate performance improvement by analyzing the system performance.

  • This study focuses on looking at the influence of silhouette in the 1930s on fabric pattern design by comprehending how differently flower-pattern design were found according to clothing silhouette. The period scope of research was limited to 1930s, and the research object was set as the flower patterns seen in the designer's high-fashion and the women's daily apparel as well as the clothes for sports and leisure activities. Based on the above research scope, the researcher investigated the clothing silhouette and the textile patterns in 1930s by reviewing the literature about domestic and foreign books, research papers, domestic and foreign fashion magazines, information on the Internet. A glance at the women's clothing in the 1930s reveals that they emphasized something inactive, elegant, feminine and that great popularity was given to feminine silhouette that closely fitted the body and long and slim, as skirts became longer and longer. Like this, silhouette refused traditional methods in the technique of expressing flower patterns that were on-trend in that period, pursued the freedom of line and form, used shadowing technique by means of free pens and brushes and the effect of watercolors. It also arranged in a semitransparent way and painted contours alone, too. Flower patterns fell into two categories: amorphous abstract patterns and standardized abstract patterns. The patterns expressed themselves, divided into small-scale irregular patterns and abstract geometric patterns that filled the entire textile.

Ad-hoc networks employing cognitive radio(CR) system that guarantee high spectrum utilization provide effective way to increase the network capacity. However, there is a problem that all CR user do not fairly use the primary user's idle bandwidth which has been sensed. In this paper, to solve this problem, we propose the spectrum sharing algorithm which uses the multiple orthogonal sequences based on the code division multiple access(CDMA). From the proposed algorithm, it is expected that system performance of CR based ad-hoc network is improved significantly and it can be applied to the implementation of CR based ad-hoc network system.

In conventional CR based ad-hoc network, it uses constant threshold value to detect primary user signal, so the results become not reliable. In this paper, to solve this problem, we apply adaptive threshold value to the CR based ad-hoc network, and adaptive threshold is immediately changed by SNR(Signal to Noise Ratio). From the simulation results, we confirmed that proposed algorithm has the greatly better detection probabilities than conventional CR based ad-hoc network.

  • Cognitive radio is considered as a promising solution to scarce spectrum problem. The primary object of cognitive radio is to increase spectral efficiency, while causing limited interference to primary users who are using the spectrum. Hence, an essential part of cognitive radio systems is spectrum sensing which determines whether a particular spectrum is occupied or not by a primary user at a particular time. However, sensing decision of each individual secondary user alone may not be reliable enough due to shadowing and multipath fading of wireless channels. The so called hidden terminal problem makes the problem even worse, possibly yielding undesired interference to the primary users. Recently, cooperative spectrum sensing is emerging as a remedy to these problems of individual sensing. Cooperative sensing allows a group of secondary users to share local sensing information to extract a global decision with high fidelity. In this paper, we investigate a cooperative spectrum sensing algorithm based on hard decisions of local sensing outcomes. Specifically, we propose an effective scheme for combining local decisions by introducing weighting factors that reflect reliability of the corresponding secondary user. Through computer simulations, the performance of the proposed combining scheme is compared with that of the conventional scheme without weighting factors in various environments.

  • Spectrum sensing is a critical functionality of CR network; it allow secondary user to detect spectral holes and to opportunistically use under-utilized frequency bands without causing harmful interference to primary use. Recently, wideband service has been increase for processing abundance of data traffic. So CR network needs a realizable implementation design of spectrum sensing for wideband. To get high resolution performance of wideband sensing must precede algorithm processing for reliability signal detection. By the way, the performance of spectrum sensing can be degraded due to fading and shadowing. In order to overcome this problem, we propose system model of wideband sensing scheme on energy detected collaborative technique. we divide wideband into narrowbands and use narrowbands to detect signal excepting some narrowbands including bad channel through the CSI. And we simulate and analyze in terms of detection probability with various SNR.

  • In order to meet the low voltage ride-through requirement in a grid code, a wind power plant (WPP) has to stay connected to a grid, supporting the voltage recovery for a grid fault. To do this, a plant-level controller as well as a wind generator (WG) controller is essential. The dynamic response of a WPP should be analyzed in order to design a plant-level controller. The dynamic response of a WPP for a grid fault is the collective response of all WGs, which depends on the wind speed approaching the WG. Thus, the dynamic response of a WPP should be analyzed by taking the wake effect into consideration, because different wind speeds at WGs will result in different responses of the WPP. This paper analyzes the response of a doubly fed induction generator (DFIG)-based offshore WPP with a grid fault taking into account the wake effect. To obtain the approaching wind speed of a WG in a WPP, we considered the cumulative impact of multiple shadowing and the effect of the wind direction. The voltage, reactive power, and active power at the point of common coupling of a 100 MW DFIG-based offshore WPP were analyzed during and after a grid fault under various wind and fault conditions using an EMTP-RV simulator. The results clearly demonstrate that not considering the wake effect leads to significantly different results, particularly for the reactive power and active power, which could potentially lead to incorrect conclusions and / or control schemes for a WPP.
