The results of study can be summarized as follows: 1. Few sewing companies committed their workers to a professional and systematic training course. 2. Brands as Brother, Juki, Yamato, Singer and Nara were being much used. Among them the Brother was most popular. The age of the sewing machines was between one and six years. Most companies were repairing their machines. The manual main sewing machines were more frequently out of order than other machines. The ratio of idle machines was highest in sewing work, compared with cutting or finishing work, primarily due to decreased orders, aging machines or reduced manpower. 3. Most of the sewing companies were feeling necessary for automated sewing machines.

The purpose of this study is to survey and analyze the conditions and automation of sewing machines and thereby, address the problems and their solutions to help local sewn products enhance their international competitiveness. The results of study can be summarized as follows : 1. It was found that most of the sample companies were getting smaller scale or pettier in terms of capital, number of employees or scale of factory. The interest in facility investment was relatively higher, which suggests high interest of our sewing companies in facility investment. 2. Most of the sample companies were well equipped with the essential and several auxiliary sewing machines, but poorly equipped with the special or automated sewing machines. 3. The ratio of idle machines was highest in sewing work, compared with cutting or finishing work, primarily due to decreased orders, aging machines or reduced manpower.

The heat of sewing needle is generated through the friction during the needle penetration into and withdrawal from fabrics. Therefore, effects of sewing condition for knitted fabric on the heat generation of needle was examined. The needle size was not the large influence factor of heat generation of needle but the needle point shape significantly affects needle temperature. And the super needle coated with fluoro resin had more effect on reducing the heat of needle. The decrease of sewing speed and the increase of stitch rate had more effect on the reduction in needle temperature. Also the Influence of a sewing thread on the needle temperature was very large compared with bare needle. As expected, an increase in the number of fabric layers result in higher needle temperature.

This study analyzes how sewing conditions for elastic bands on woven fabrics affect elongation. The directions of the elastic bands were vertical, horizontal, vertical and horizontal crossing, and horizontal and vertical crossing. Intervals between the elastic bands were 3.0 cm and 6.0 cm. The woven fabric was tailored for the elastic band sewing using warp, weft, and bias. Consequently, it was possible to visually confirm elongation differences according to the sewing condition of the elastic bands. A detailed examination demonstrated that the horizontal or vertical placement of elastic bands tailored in a crosswise direction produces high vertical elongation and low horizontal contraction. However, elastic bands sewed in crossing directions, regardless of warp and weft directions, resulted in both high vertical elongation and high horizontal contraction. In all cases, the more elastic bands were used, the higher the horizontal elongation. In conclusion, appropriate placements of elastic bands on woven fabric increases motion convenience.

An investigation was made of the angle of bias on the lower part of the armhole line of the back bodice and that on the lower part of the sleeve cap curve line by cap heights, and then it was made of the lock stitch seam strength and elongation on the matching angles, the stitch density (26 stitches/3cm, 19 stitches/3cm, 14 stitches/3cm, and the samples (a cotton fabric and two kinds of cotton mixed polyester fabric). The matching angles of the machine-sewed samples are $30^{\circ}/-30^{\circ}$, $30^{\circ}/-45^{\circ}$, $45^{\circ}/-45^{\circ}$ and $60^{\circ}/-60^{\circ}$ by the analysis of the angles of bias on the lower part of the armhole seam. In view of the results of the seam strength and elongation, the reasonable sewing condition of the lower part of the armhole seam was 19 stitches/3cm.

An investigation made of the easing contraction ratio according to sewing condition (seam line; wp, wf, 45$^{\circ}$ bias, stitch density; 13 stitch/cm (0.8 mm), 9 stitch/cm (1.1 mm), 6.5 stitch/ cm (1.5 mm), 5 stitch/cm (2 mm), 4 stitch/cm (2.5 mm), thread; sp 60$^{\circ}$s/2, sp 60$^{\circ}$s/3, st 60$^{\circ}$s/3, st 50$^{\circ}$s/3)) by lockstitch industrial sewing machine with shirring foot. The correlations of the easing and sewing conditions were by SPSS PC), and visual test was done by enlarged photo. The results obstained were as follows:. 1. The easing contraction ratio is increased in proportion to the low of stitch density. 2. The easing contraction ratio of wp, 45$^{\circ}$ bias is correlated with stitch density, and that of wf be with stitch density, elongation & weight. 3. The easing contraction ratio of 13 stitch/cm (0.8 mm), 9 stitch/cm (1.1 mm), 6.5 stitch/ cm (1.5 mm), 5 stitch/cm (2.0 mm) is correlated with flexible rigidity, and that of 4 stitch/ cm (2.5 mm) be with flexible rigidity and crease-resistance. 4. As a results of SPSS PC+ statistics, the easing contraction ratio is statistically correlated to the seam line, stitch density, upper thread tension, and fabric characteristics. 5. As a results of visual test by the enlarged photo, the limit of stitch density for easing contraction was 5 stitch/cm (2.0 mm).

The paravalvular leak after redo mitral prosthetic valve replacement is rare but serious complication when it does happen. This condition should be corrected surgically to increase life span and improve symptoms. But simple closure or patch closure of paravalvular leak are not effective in cases of weak annulus or broad defect. We report 3 cases of trido mitral valve replacement using mechanical valve with its sewing ring expanded by a collar of Dacron sheet. The prosthetic sewing ring is anchored on the weak mitral annulus with multiple interrupted sutures, while the Dacron collar is contineuously sutured to the left atrial wall for blood tight sealing. All of the three cases showed event free postoperative course.

The primary purpose of this study was to research on the actual condition related to clothing custody and managerial behaviors of elementary school senior students. The data were collected from 296 elementary school senior students in Pusan. The aforementioned were analyzed utilizing frequency, factor analysis, ANOVA, t-test using SPSS Win 12.0. The results were as follows. First, factor analysis on clothing custody identified two groups such as classified custody by uses and season, and custody used insecticides and desiccating agents. Second, in the classify by uses and season case, there were significant differences economic level, purchasing place, dealing method of laundry, discriminating ability whether or not laundry, arrangement frequency, basic sewing ability, holdings and disposal. Third, in the use of insecticides and desiccating agents case, there were significant differences purchasing place, basic sewing ability, holdings and disposal.
