신경회로망 기반 우리나라 산업안전시스템의 모델링 (Neural Network-based Modeling of Industrial Safety System in Korea)

  • It is extremely important to design safety-guaranteed industrial processes because such process determine the ultimate outcomes of industrial activities, including worker safety. Application of artificial intelligence (AI) in industrial safety involves modeling industrial safety systems by using vast amounts of safety-related data, accident prediction, and accident prevention based on predictions. As a preliminary step toward realizing AI-based industrial safety in Korea, this study discusses neural network-based modeling of industrial safety systems. The input variables that are the most discriminatory relative to the output variables of industrial safety processes are selected using two information-theoretic measures, namely entropy and cross entropy. Normalized frequency and severity of industrial accidents are selected as the output variables. Our simulation results confirm the effectiveness of the proposed neural network model and, therefore, the feasibility of extending the model to include more input and output variables.

  • The modem industrial society is developing while growing more diverse and gigantic. Accordingly, occupational injuries or accidents can be caused in various situations, not just in the limited range of workplaces but also in the surroundings, and interest has increased in the prevention of occupational accidents with respect to occupational health and safety, and environment. Thus, this thesis will consider 4MlE (Man, Machine, Method, Material, Environment) as the fundamental causes of accidents and introduce a model of system in which the output of the process control system is replaced by accidents with its input by 4M1E. Furthermore, it will demonstrate how occupational hazardousness can be measured, whereby it can also be rated, by examining the relationship between 4M1E and types of accident in terms of the categories of severity, frequency, and detectability, based on the application of the model to the framework of FMEA.

  • 기존의 첨단 운전자 지원 시스템 (Advanced Driver Assistance System, ADAS)들은 전방 위험탐지와 같은 한정적 상황에서의 사고 예방에 집중하고 있어 다양한 사고 시나리오가 존재하는 교차로에 적용하기에는 한계를 가지고 있다. 또한 기존 연구는 주로 사고 요인 분석에 집중하고 있어 첨단 운전자 지원 시스템의 사고 예방 성능에 관한 연구는 미비한 편이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 비전 및 레이더 센서 기반 첨단 운전자 지원 시스템의 다양한 교차로 사고 예방에 대한 성능을 평가하고 대책을 마련하고자 한다. 이를 위하여 미국의 Second Strategic Highway Research Program(SHRP2)의 naturalistic driving study(NDS)에서 수집된 사고/준사고 상황의 거리 측정 데이터를 기반으로 16개의 교차로 사고 시나리오를 도출하였고, 총 363건의 차량과 차량 간 사고를 분석하였다. 분석 결과 16개의 사고 시나리오 중 0.7의 사고 예방율을 기준으로 카메라 기반 시스템은 5개, 레이더 기반 시스템은 4개의 사고 시나리오에서 사고를 예방할 수 있었다.

  • Rail crossings are major accident-prone areas. Higher traffic volume, frequent rail operation, increased train speed all contribute to increased accident rate and severity In Korea efforts are being made to upgrade currently at-grade rail crossings to grade crossings. There is, however, no quantified analysis measures to analyse the impact of rail grade crossing, thus make it difficult to prioritize different projects under the budget constraints. Projects are selected based on the negotiation between Korea National Railway(KNR) and local governments. To shed light on the development effort for Korean procedure, GradeDec 2000 program of Federal Railroad Adminstration(FRA) was applied for Korean context. Case study involving three rail crossing was ca]lied out, and results are analyzed. Research efforts which need further attention are identified, research direction is analyzed considering local procedure, and issues in the application of the procedures are discussed in detail.

단관 파이프의 좌굴특성에 대한 수평연결재 및 기울기의 영향 (Effect of Horizontal Connection and Slope on Buckling Characteristics of Single Pipe)

  • The number of collapse accidents relevant to form support since 2003 is 30 on the basis of statistical data from Ministry of Employment and Labor,. Total number of casualty was 138 (47 for deaths and 91 for injuries). The accident severity rate was high because the 4.6 casualties per one accident were occurred averagely although the incident rate was relatively low. Especially, one of form support members, the pipe supports have not been equipped adequately so that the accidents could have happened. In this regard, this study performed buckling test related to the effect of horizontal connection and slope in the single pipe which is one of typical pipe supports. The buckling load, which was estimated from the single pipe with the horizontal connectors theoretically and experimentally, was increased as more than 2 times compared to the buckling load obtained from the pipe supports without the connector. The buckling load was reduced as more than 26%, 34% slope of the single pipe comparing with 5% and 10% slope, respectively. Thus, the purpose of this study is to provide the guideline for installation and the maintenance of the pipe supports legally and institutionally to prevent the collapse accidents of the pipe supports.

전기철도 전철전력설비의 위험도 평가 기반 안전관리에 관한 연구 (A Risk Assessment Approach to Safety Management of Electric Railway Facilities)

  • Power supply system of electric railway has a diversity of safety problems since it should supply high electric power to the trains moving high speed with a lot of passengers on board. This paper provides a risk assessment approach to safety management of the electric railway facilities. Construction of database from field accident information, risk assessment and management of the risk are carried out systematically to ensure the safety. The risk assessment includes hazard identification, cause analysis by FTA(Fault Tree Analysis), consequence analysis by EVA(Event Tree Analysis), and loss analysis. In terms of the severity and the probability of the accidents deduced by these analyses, the risk of the accidents is assessed by using a risk matrix designed for electric railway facilities. Based on the risk assessment, possible risk mitigation options are identified and evaluated by analyzing their impact on the risk reduction and their cost benefit ratio. The long-term safety of the electric railway facilities can be ensured by renewal of the risk assessment and the risk mitigation option analysis with continuous accident database update. The proposed approach is applied to the electric railway facilities of Korean railway based on the accident data from 2002 to 2008.

건설현장 사망사고 발생원인과 책임전가의식 간의 관계 분석 (Analysis of Relationship between Fatal Accidents Causes and Consciousness of Scapegoatism in Construction Site)

  • The number of accidents is raising every year and severity is also increasing. A lot of studies are interested in the leading indicator such as safety culture or safety audit to reduce accidents. In particular, the studies on safety awareness are actively conducted. However, these studies showed that there was consciousness of scapegoatism which to pass responsibility of accident causes to others regardless of safety awareness. It means that there are probability about overestimating and making light of unsafe condition and act which have to manage and control. Eventually, the direct causes which lead to the fatal accident may be consistently arisen. Nevertheless, researches about consciousness of scapegoatism are shortage. Therefore, this study proposed the means to investigate the relationship between consciousness of scapegoatism and accidents through report from KOSHA and conducts the survey with suggested means. This paper will contribute to prevent accidents by identifying relationship between consciousness of scapegoatism and accidents.

충격량을 고려한 중앙분리대 설계기준에 관한 연구 (Design Criteria of the Median Barrier Considering Impulse Measurement)

  • 최근의 교통사고 발생현황에 비추어 볼 때 전체 사망자는 감소하고 있는 반면, 중앙선 침범에 의한 사망자는 여전히 전체 사고의 높은 구성비를 나타내어 교통사고 피해 현황(사망, 부상)에 있어서 중앙선 침범이 안전운전 불이행에 이어 두 번째로 주요한 교통사고 원인으로 부각되고 있다. 이러한 사고를 줄이기 위한 대책의 일환으로 중앙분리대에 방호울타리를 사용하고 있으나, 해당 시설물에 대한 명확한 설계기준이 부족한 것이 현실이다. 특히, 중앙분리대 설계기준에 있어서 현행의 충격량 산정의 방법은 일률적인 속도와 침범각도를 이용하여 운전자의 주행행태를 고려하지 못한 채로 제시되고 있으며, 충격량 산정에 관한 구체적인 연구보다는 개발된 방호울타리의 성능시험 평가를 통해 현장에 적용하고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 운전자의 주행특성을 고려하여 주행속도를 적용하고 도로의 기하구조에 따른 침범각을 산정하여 보다 현실적이며 합리적인 충격량을 산정한다. 합리적인 충격량의 산정은 중앙분리대의 과대설계로 인한 국고의 낭비와 과소설치로 인한 안전문제를 해결하는데 일조할 것이다.

  • In the past several years, accident frequency rate was decreased but severity rate was increased at construction sites with less than two-hundred workers. Accidents caused by failure of education in respect with the management occupied about 40 % in 1997. In this research, a questionnaire survey to know the effects of safety education was committed for small & medium construction sites. Survey results showed that workers wanted to improve work environments and safety facilities than safety education, however they also were not satisfied to educational facilities, contents and methods. Whereas, they agreed that they improved safety consciousness after safety education. As a result, four appropriate methods to promote effective safety education were proposed.

고속도로 교통사고의 사고심각도 영향요인 분석 (An Analysis of the Factors Affecting the Accident Severity of Highway Traffic Accidents)

  • 본 연구는 2019년부터 2021년의 고속도로 교통사고 위치 좌표를 콘존 데이터와 결합한 후 파이캐럿을 활용하여 고속도로 교통사고 심각도에 영향을 끼치는 요인을 분석할 수 있는 최적 모델을 선정하고 채택된 Random Forest 기법으로 고속도로 교통사고 심각도에 영향을 끼치는 요인을 분석하고자 하였으며, 향후 전국 고속도로 교통사고에 영향을 주는 요인으로 확대하여 분석하고 사고 심각도 개선을 위한 대안 방안 마련이 가능할 것으로 판단된다.
