여름철 공조시스템의 최적 운전 제어 방식 (Optimal air-conditioning system operating control strategies in summer)

  • Buildings are mostly under part load conditions causing an inefficient system operation in terms of energy consumption. It is critical to operate building air-conditioning system with a scientific or optimal manner which minimizes energy consumption and maintains thermal comfort by matching building sensible and latent loads. Little research has been performed in developing general methodologies for the optimal operation of air-conditioning system. Based on this research motivation, system simulation program was developed by adopting various equipment operating strategies which are energy efficient especially for humidity control in summer. A numerical optimization technique was utilized to search optimal solution for multi-independent variables and then linked to the developed system simulation model within a mam program. The main goal of the study is to provide a systematic framework and guideline for the optimal operation of air-conditioning system focusing on air-side. For given cooling loads and ambient outdoor conditions the optimal operating strategies of a commercial building are determined by minimizing a constrained objective function by a nonlinear programming technique. Desired space setpoint conditions were found through evaluating the trade-offs between comfort and system power consumption. The results show that supply airflow rate and compressor fraction play main roles in the optimization process. It was found that variable setpoint optimization technique could produce lower indoor humidity level demanding less power consumption which will be benefits for building applications of humidity problem.

노심 과온도 Delta-T 보호식의 동적보정함수 최적화 (Optimization of Dynamic Terms in Core Overtemperature Delta-T Trip Function)

  • 노심의 과온도 Delta-T보호식에 설정된 동적보정함수들의 시정수 변화에 따른 특성이 조사되었으며, 출력운전 중 제어봉집합체의 비통제된 인출사고의 경우에 있어서 위 동적보정함수들의 과온도 Delta-T보호식에 대한 영향을 시스템 코드인 NLOOP및 노심열수력 코드인 PUMA를 사용하여 연구하였다. 위 연구를 바탕으로, 과온도 Delta-T 보호식의 동적보정함수에 대한 최적화 절차가 제시되었으며, 고리 3&4 호기 친이노심의 경우에 대해 최적화된 동적보정함수를 구하였다. 그 결과, 시스템의 최소 DNBR에 가장 영향을 줄 수 있는 동적보정함수는 노심평균온도에 대한 lead-lag항으로 판명되었으며, 이때 최적화된 시정수값은 lead시간 21초, lag시간 4초로 나타났다. 이러한 동적보정함수의 최적화를 통하여 안전한계치를 변경하지 않고서도 노심의 운전영역을 개선할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

일산화탄소 농도 예측 기능을 사용한 터널 환기 제어 알고리즘 (A Tunnel Ventilation Control Algorithm by Using CO Density Prediction Algorithm)

  • For a long road tunnel, a tunnel ventilation system may be used in order to reduce the pollution level below the required level. To control the tunnel pollution level, a closed loop control algorithm may be used. The feedforward prediction algorithm and the cascade control algorithm were developed to regulate the CO level in a tunnel. The feedforward prediction algorithm composed of the traffic estimation algorithm and the CO density prediction algorithm, and the cascade control algorithm composed of the jet fan control algorithm and the air velocity setpoint algorithm. The verification of control algorithms was carried out by dynamic models developed from the actual tunnel data. The simulation results showed that control algorithms developed for this study were effective for the control of the tunnel ventilation system.

신경망 2-자유도 PID제어기를 이용한 원자력 발전소용 증기 발생기 수위제어 (The level control of steam generator in nuclear power plant by neural network 2-DOF PID controller)

  • When we control the level of the steam generator in the nuclear power plants, a swell and shrink arises from many disturbances such as feed water rate, feed water temperature, main steam flow rate, and coolant temperature. If we use the conventional type of PI controller in this system, we will not have stability during controlling at lower power, the removal function of disturbances, and a load follow-up control effectively. In this paper, we study the application of a 2-Degree of Freedom(2-DOF) PID controller to the level control of the steam. generator of nuclear power plants through the simulation and the experimental steam generator. We use the parameters $\alpha$, $\beta$, $\gamma$ of the 2-DOF PID controller for the removal of disturbances and the parameters Kp,Ti,Td of the conventional type of PID controller for controlling setpoint. The back-propagation learning algorithm of neural network is used for tuning the 2-DOF PID controller. We can find satisfactory results of the removal of the disturbances and the tracking function in the change of setpoint through the simulation and experimental steam generator.

영광3, 4호기 비상운전지침용 원자로냉각재펌프 정지전략을 위한 소형냉각재상실사고 분석 (Small Break LOCA Analysis for RCP Trip Strategy for YGN 3&4 Emergency Procedure Guidelines)

  • 소형냉각재 상실사고시 원자로냉각재펌프( RCP )의 지속적인 운전은 원자로냉각재의 불필요한 누출을 초래하여 심각한 노심노출 및 이에따른 핵연료 손상을 야기시킬 수 있다. TMI 사고 후 미국 NRC의 요구에 따라 CE형 발전소 사용자 단체에서는 “T2/L2”라는 RCP 트립전략을 개발하여 CE형 발전소에 적용 가능토록 일반비상운전지침서에 반영하였다. 상기 T2/L2 RCP 트립전략은 사고후 원자로 냉각재 계통의 압력이 감소하여 RCP 트립설정치에 도달하면 처음 두대의 RCP를 우선 정지시키고, 사고가 LOCA임이 확인되면 나머지 두대의 RCP를 정지시키는 방식을 채택하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 영광3, 4호기의 RCP 트립설정치를 분석, 선정하고 T2/L2 전략의 안전운전양상을 입증하였다 분석결과, 최악의 파단크기로 밝혀진 0.15 ft$^2$의 고온관 파단 LOCA 영광3, 4호기 RCP 트립설정치는 가압기 압력 1775 psia로 나타났으며, 운전원이 마지막 두대의 RCP를 트립시키지 못하였을 경우 혹은 최악의 시점에서 정지시켰을 경우에도 영광3, 4호기의 노심냉각능력은 확보될 수 있음이 확인되었다. 또한 영광3, 4호기의 RCP 트립전략은 미국 NRC가 요구하는 최대 핵연료피복재온도 관점에서의 10 CFR 50.46 요구조건과 운전원 조치시간 관점에서의 ANSI 58.8 요구조건도 충분히 만족함이 판명되었다 따라서, 1775 psia의 RCP 트립설정치를 사용한 영광3, 4호기의 T2/L2 RCP 트립전략은 사고시 운전원에게 향상된 운전지침을 제공할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

  • The control objective of drum level of boiler in thermal power plant is to maintain drum level at constant setpoint regardless of disturbance such as main steam flow. The initial response of the drum level loop process is in a direction opposite to the final response. The drum level loop shows inverse response when the power is changed abruptly. We adopt fuzzy controller using knowledge base considering system dynamics for controlling drum level. Finally, the simulation result using the digital simulator for boiler system in Seoul Power Plant Unit 4 shows the validity of fuzzy controller.

  • A mathematical model of the blow-down type wind tunnel is developed in order to design the controller which controls the stagnation pressure being used to obtain the setpoint Mach Number. The motion of compressible fluids in the tunnel is modeled using the one-dimensional gasdynamics. The time responses of the wind tunnel states, such as pressures, mass flow rates, and valve open area, are investigated by digital computer simulation. By the simulation study it is shown that the real blow-down wind tunnel can be simulated by the obtained mathematical model.

  • In this paper, A dead-time compensator (DTC) for the processes with long dead-time is proposed. The processes which consist of dead-time, time-constant, gain are estimated by the linear least squares method in the frequency domain. A Smith predictor(SP) modified by including a filter becomes a two degree of freedom DTC. So the proposed DTC can yield the desirable setpoint and load disturbance responses separately. PI controller is used for the primary controller and the filter is tuned to be robust. Simulation examples demonstrate the properties of the proposed DTC.

  • Pseudomonas putida BM01 was grown efficiently on glucose as the sole carbon source with a supply of a nitrogen source in pH-stat mode using a low setpoint limit. A final cell concentration of 100 g/l was obtained in 30 h of fed-batch cultivation by controlling glucose concentration within the range of 5-20 g/l and maintaining dissolved oxygen tension above 10$%$ saturation using pure oxygen. This high cell density culture technique is believed highly useful for the production of poly(3-hydroxyalkanoates) by this strain.
