With the rapid development of the Internet of Things, the problem of privacy protection has been paid great attention. Recently, Nikooghadam et al. pointed out that Kumari et al.'s protocol can neither resist off-line guessing attack nor preserve user anonymity. Moreover, the authors also proposed an authentication supportive session initial protocol, claiming to resist various vulnerability attacks. Unfortunately, this paper proves that the authentication protocols of Kumari et al. and Nikooghadam et al. have neither the ability to preserve perfect forward secrecy nor the ability to resist key-compromise impersonation attack. In order to remedy such flaws in their protocols, we design a lightweight authentication protocol using elliptic curve cryptography. By way of informal security analysis, it is shown that the proposed protocol can both resist a variety of attacks and provide more security. Afterward, it is also proved that the protocol is resistant against active and passive attacks under Dolev-Yao model by means of Burrows-Abadi-Needham logic (BAN-Logic), and fulfills mutual authentication using Automated Validation of Internet Security Protocols and Applications (AVISPA) software. Subsequently, we compare the protocol with the related scheme in terms of computational complexity and security. The comparative analytics witness that the proposed protocol is more suitable for practical application scenarios.

In 2011, C.-T. Li et al. proposed a secure user authentication scheme, which is an improvement over Kim et al.'s scheme to resolve several security flaws such as off-line password guessing attack and masquerading attack. C.-T. Li et al. claimed that their scheme prevents smart card security related attacks. Moreover, it provides mutual authentication and session key establishment. However, we found that their scheme is vulnerable to password guessing attack through password change phase, smart card forgery attack and stolen verifier attack. Moreover, C.-T. Li et al.'s scheme is not secure against password guessing attack as they claimed. In this paper, we also point out that their scheme is not practical to use.

The existing handover authentication schemes have authentication delay and overhead of the authentication server since they have been separately studied handover authentication at the link layer and the network layer. This paper proposes a handover authentication scheme initiated by Mobile Node on FMIPv6 based mobile access networks. The main idea of the paper is to generate a session key at the mobile node side, and transfer it to the next Access Router through the authentication server. Also, the scheme has a hierarchical key management at access router. There are two advantages of the scheme. First, the generated session key can be utilized for protecting the binding update messages and also for access authentication. Second, hierarchical key management at the access router reduced the handover delay time. The security aspects on the against PFS, PBS, and DoS attack of proposed scheme are discussed.
In this paper, we propose a new authenticated key exchange protocol in which client and sever can mutually authenticate and establish a session key over an insecure channel using only a human memorable password. The proposed protocol is based on Diffie-Hellman scheme and has many of desirable security attributes: It resists off-line dictionary attacks mounted by either Passive or active adversaries over network, allowing low-entropy Passwords to be used safely. It also offers perfect forward secrecy, which protects past sessions when passwords are compromised. In particular, the advantage of our scheme is that it is secure against an impersonation attack, even if a server's password file is exposed to an adversary. The proposed scheme here shows that it has better performance when compared to the previous notable password-based key exchange methods.

In 2005, Lee and Chen suggested an enhanced one-time password authentication scheme which can prevent the stolen verifier attack that the Yeh-Shen-Whang's scheme has. The Lee-Chen's scheme addresses the stolen verifier attack by deriving each user's pre-shared secret SEED from the server secret. However, we investigated the weakness of the Lee-Chen's scheme and found out that it was suffering from the off-line dictionary attack on the server secret. We demonstrated that the off-line dictionary attack on the server secret can be easily tackled with only the help of the Hardware Security Modules (HSM). Moreover, we improved the scheme not to be weak to the denial of service attack and allow compromise of the past session keys even though the current password is stolen. Through the comparison between the Lee-Chen's scheme and the proposed one, we showed that the proposed one is stronger than other.

In this paper, we analyze the problem of the user authentication scheme that provides dynamic ID in a multi-server environment proposed by Andola et al. and propose an improved authentication one to solve this problem. As a result of analyzing the authentication scheme of Andrea et al. in this paper, it is not safe for smart card loss attack, and this attack allows users to guess passwords, and eventually, the attacker was able to generate session key. This paper proposed an improved authentication scheme to solve these problems, and as a result of safety analysis, it was safe from various attacks such as smart card loss attack, password guess attack, and user impersonation attack. Also the improved authentication scheme not only provides a secure dynamic ID, but is also effective in terms of the computational complexity of the hash function. In addition, the improved authentication scheme does not significantly increase the amount of transmission, so it can be said to be an efficient authentication scheme in terms of transmission cost.

Mobile RFID is a new application that uses a mobile phone as an RFID reader with wireless technology and provides a new valuable service to users by integrating RFID and ubiquitous sensor network infrastructures with mobile communication and wireless Internet. Whereas the mobile RFID system has many advantages, privacy violation problems on the reader side are very concerning to individuals and researchers. Unlike in regular RFID environments, where the communication channel between the server and reader is assumed to be secure, the communication channel between the backend server and the RFID reader in the mobile RFID system is not assumed to be safe. Therefore it has become necessary to devise a new communication protocol that secures the privacy of mobile RFID-enabled devices. Recently, Lo et al. proposed a mutual key agreement protocol that secures the authenticity and privacy of engaged mobile RFID readers by constructing a secure session key between the reader and server. However, this paper shows that this protocol does not meet all of the necessary security requirements. Therefore we developed an enhanced mutual key agreement protocol for mobile RFID-enabled devices that alleviates these concerns. We further show that our protocol can enhance data security and provide privacy protection for the reader in an unsecured mobile RFID environment, even in the presence of an active adversary.
As the use of Internet and information communication technology is being generalized, the SSL protocol is essential in Internet because the important data should be transferred securely. While the SSL protocol is designed to defend from active attack such as message forgery and message alteration, the cipher suite setting can be easily modified. If the attacker draw on a malfunction of the client system and modify the cipher suite setting to the symmetric key algorithm which has short key length, he should eavesdrop and cryptanalysis the encrypt data. In this paper, we examine the domestic web site whether they generate the security session through the symmetric key algorithm which has short key length and propose the solution of the cipher suite setting problem.
Depending on the smart device user growth and development of communication technology, the area about working environment was extended without constraints of time and places. It is introducing to work using user's devices and this environment is called 'BYOD(Bring Your On Device)'. But it is vulnerable to security threat that happened in existing wireless environment and its security threat issue which is caused by inside information leak by an inside job and lost or stolen terminal which is caused by careless user is getting heated. So we studied about access control protocol by user rights under the BYOD situation make a session key based on the user information. We make a session key based on the user information and user device information, after that we design an access control protocol. The protocol we suggest can protect from attack under the BYOD situation and wireless communication situation and also safety and security requirement from inside information leak because it controls user rights.

The DIAMETER protocol provides Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting (AAA) transactions across the Internet. SIP(Session Initiation Protocol) will be used for new types of signaling, such as instant messaging and application level mobility across networks. And SIP will be a major signaling protocol for next generation wireless networks. But the Digest authentication scheme is not using a secure method of user authentication in SIP, and it is vulnerable to man-in-the-middle attacks or dictionary attacks. This study focused on designing a SIP proxy for interworking with AAA server with respect to user authentication and security analysis. We compared and analyzed the security aspects of the scenarios and propose two proposals that a response which include the user address and password-based mutual authentication and key agreement protocol. It is claimed to be more secure against common attacks than current scenarios.
