An Analysis of Pre-service Science Teachers' Reflection of Questions During Science Instruction in Teaching Practicum (예비과학교사의 교육실습 과학수업에서의 발문에 대한 반성 분석)

  • In this study, we investigated pre-service teachers' reflection of questions during science instruction in teaching practicum from the perspective of productive reflection. The productive reflection used in this analysis has four aspects of learners and learning, subject matter knowledge, instruction, and assessment. Five pre-service teachers participated in this study. They reflected on their questions with one class video by using think-aloud method. Semi-constructed interviews were also conducted. The analyses of the results reveal that the aspect of 'instruction' and the 'learners and learning' were frequently included in their reflections. 'subject matter knowledge' was often included in their reflection while 'assessment' was hardly included. The integrations of the two aspects appear most often, those of three aspects appear only sometimes. However, four aspects appear very rarely. The integrations of 'learners and learning' and 'instruction' with the other aspects were most frequent, and the integrations of 'content knowledge' with the other aspects were often. However, the integration of 'assessment' was very few. There were more productive reflections from pre-service teachers who reflect on several questions in context than who reflected on questions one by one. In addition, they exhibited some difficulties in suggesting alternatives to improve their questions. They tried to modify the teaching method related to the questions rather than revise the form of questions. Based on the results, practical implications to improve expertise related to the questions of pre-service teachers were discussed.

  • The era of express train in Korea has come since April in 2004. The KTX(Korea Train Express) which has introduced the technology of TGV of France is regraded as good as the ICE of Germany or Shinkansen of Japanese in its hardware aspects. However there are still many things to be improved in its software aspects such as the quality of services, since the new express railway system is in the early beginning stage. To improve the quality of services, we should first measure and analyze the current level of the service quality. Using SERVQUAL model, the service level of KTX is measured and analyzed in this paper. Issues on how to improve the service quality are discussed based on the measurement and analysis.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest institutional reformation of public office facilities by analysis the status of services on welfare for the aged and disabled. For this study, we have researched and analyzed on two different aspects. The aspects are space composition of public office facilities, welfare systems and service support within region. And we can get the following important points as conclusion; (1) We need to consider on not only access for public office facilities site but also the connection on business such as block plan on zone and connection between quarters. Architectural plan has to be considered. (2) Most of the public office facilities use human service resources as a supporting system for shortage of convenient facilities. Variety of welfare services are required. (3) We need to secure various programs and space for local peculiarities and social demand.

  • Cloud computing services have became an hot issues in business fields while the IT-related global company such as Amazon, MS, and Google took part in. The cloud computing makes it possible to share in the form of outsourcing of hardware and software through the Internet, to build a distributed computing environment via multiple terminals, and to reduce the cost using open source. Such a cloud computing services have not shown any significant growth in Korea yet compared to other countries. Therefore, in this study focusing on public cloud computing services, it is intended to analyze the determinants of public cloud computing services using the technology model. Thus, for users using public cloud services, we conducted a questionnaire survey from the beginning of January 2013 to the end of February 2013. And we derived a research model based on the Technology Acceptance Model(TAM). As a result of this study, it shows that personal aspects significantly impacts on the perceived usability, service aspects, systems aspects, and the intent of the technology acceptances. System aspects significantly effect on the intent of technology acceptances. Perceived usability significantly effects on the service aspects and the systems aspects. The main factors effecting on the intent of the technology acceptances are system aspects and perceived usability in order. And it shows that the personal aspects decreases the intent of the technology acceptances.

Explicating Moderating Effects of Conflict in the Psychological Mechanism in IT Service Engagement (IT 서비스 상황에서의 심리적 기제 : 갈등, 만족, 신뢰 그리고 몰입)

  • In IT service quality research, the relationship between the service quality and clients' satisfaction was the focus of many studies while in relationship quality research, the influence of trust and conflict on relationship commitment seems to be the focus. In this study, these two research streams are integrated and a theoretical research model is proposed consisting of IT service quality, satisfaction, trust and relationship commitment with conflict as a moderator for the overall psychological mechanism. As satisfaction represents emotional response while trust cognitive response, this research model integrated both emotional and cognitive aspects of relationship maintenance in the IT service context. Analysis of data collected from 262 employees of global IT service firm revealed the differential effects of reliability, responsiveness, assurance and empathy on satisfaction and trust. Also, depending upon the level of conflict, the effects of reliability and assurance were found to be moderated. Further analysis revealed more profound mechanism at work relating emotional and cognitive aspects in the psychology of relationship maintenance in IT service context. Practical implications are further discussed in the conclusion.

The Impacts of Service Quality of Local Food stores on Customer Satisfaction and Revisit Intention (로컬푸드 매장의 서비스품질이 고객만족과 재방문의도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study identified the impact of the service quality of local food stores on customer satisfaction and revisiting intention of the customers as the interest into local foods is increasing. The main outcomes are as follows: First, many of the respondents said that they use the local food stores based on the trust in the origin of the products and good quality. Second, reliability and validity were suitable for factor analysis and the correlation had a positive (+) directivity. Third, reliability, assurance, empathy and tangibles were analyzed to have a positive (+) impact among the 5 aspects of service quality except for responsiveness. Fourth, customer satisfaction had a positive (+) impact on the intention to revisit the local food stores, and reliability, assurance and empathy had a positive (+) impact on revisiting intention at the statistical significance level except for responsiveness and tangibles among the 5 service quality aspects. Therefore, it is thought to be required to keep having interests into service quality to gain a competitive edge as a sustainable management system since the service quality of local food stores has impacts on customer satisfaction and intention to revisit.

Evaluation of Urban Roadway Service Quality Using Modified-IPA Technique (변형된 IPA 분석기법을 활용한 도시부 도로 서비스 질 평가)

  • The quality of service on urban roadways have been evaluated mainly based on such quantitative measures as travel speed and delay. However, in addition to the quantitative aspects, drivers traveling on urban roadways are subject to be influenced by qualitative measures such as aesthetic aspects of the roadway and other drivers' violation of traffic laws. Based on this notion, this study attempts to identify roadway service quality indices, considering both qualitative and quantitative aspects and evaluate the quality of service using the modified Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA), a technique often applied in the field of marketing. The modified IPA is proposed in this study as a way to evaluate the service quality, reflecting the relative performance between study areas and performance indices. A case study is implemented over the Gangnam and Gangbuk areas in Seoul, resulting in identifying the items needed to be improved for each study area.

Effects of Experiential Value on Continuous Use Intention for On-Demand Services (온디맨드(On-Demand) 서비스의 지속사용의도에 대한 경험가치 효과)

  • On-Demand services have emerged as one of the core business strategies for delivering new experiential values by providing customized services in different user-needs nowadays. Based on the Stimulus-Organism-Response (S-O-R) framework, this paper focuses on the factors of environmental stimulation and emotional states of the demand-side that induce continuous intention of use from the On-Demand services. The study defines 'Informativeness', 'Fulfillment', 'Trust', and 'Convenience' as the properties of the On-Demand services and considers 'Playfulness', 'Customer Return on Investment (CROI)', and 'Service Excellence' as the aspects of the experiential values. The research shows that 'Fulfillment', 'Trust' and 'Convenience' affected the experiential value in 'Kakao Taxi (On-Demand transportation service)' while 'Informativeness', 'Fulfillment', 'Trust of platform', and 'Convenience' are represented as the related factors to the experiential value in 'Baedal Minjok (On-Demand food delivery service)'. The experiential value factors, 'CROI' and 'Service Excellence', are shown directly related to the continuous intention of use in both services. A partial mediation relationship is, furthermore, observed between the aspects of 'CROI' and 'Service Excellence' in Kakao Taxi and its 'Convenience' and 'Continuous intention of use.' In Baedal Minjok, a partial mediation relationship is found between the 'CROI' with its aspects of 'Trust of the platform', 'Convenience', and 'Continuous intention of use' as well. The results of this study may contribute a comprehensive understanding of the purpose of On-Demand services and its needs from the demand-side thus can be helpful for the supply-side.

  • In the early stage of electronic commerce the technical aspects were regarded as the most important factor for its success, but the economic and managerial aspects gain currently more and more its importance. In this paper some issues are researched which are emerging as essential factor with the development of electronic commerce. Especially this survey was carried out from four managerial aspects which are management strategy, marketing, procurement/logistics and service. The result of this research shows us that the importance level of management strategy and procurement/logistics are low, but that of marketing and service are very high. AHP-Analysis as the result of this paper shows the importance list in rank of service, marketing, procurement/logistics and management strategy.

An exploratory study on Pre-service teachers' perceptions of instructional media (예비 교사의 교수매체 인식에 관한 탐색적 연구)

  • This study explored the overall perception of teaching media from the perspective of pre-service teachers. For this purpose, reflection journals written by 138 pre-service teachers were analyzed, and positive and negative perceptions of teaching media were explored. In the reflection diary, pre-service teachers were asked to write down examples of appropriate use of instructional media and the effects of their experiences, cases of inappropriate use of instructional media, and areas requiring improvement. The main research results are as follows. First, the positive aspects of teaching media perceived by prospective teachers were that it presented examples that could help understanding, aroused curiosity to focus attention, and encouraged participation to motivate learning. Second, the negative aspects of teaching media perceived by prospective teachers include cases where the playback time of the video containing learning content is excessively long and the content of the video is unclear or is higher than the learner's level and difficult to understand. This study is significant in that it presents pre-service teachers experiences and perceptions of teaching media and their desirable use methods.
