  • 고속의 수십기가급의 VPN을 구현할 수 있는 제품은 방화벽시스템(Firewall), 라우터, 인터넷 게이트웨이, 원격 접속 서버(Remote Access Server), Windows NT Server, VPN 전용 장치 그리고 VPN 소프트웨어 등을 들 수 있지만, 현재까지 어떤 제품 그리고 기술도 지배적인 방법으로 대두되지는 않고 있다. 국내외적으로 수십Giga급 이상의 VPN 보안장비와 관련된 체계화된 이론의 부족으로 인하여 관련된 연구는 많이 부족한 현실이며, 체계적이고 전문적인 연구를 수행하기 위해서는 많은 연구 활동이 필요하다. 결과적으로 향후 차세대 초고속 네트워크에서의 정보보호와 효과적인 네트워크 자원을 활용하기 위해서는 반드시 수십Giga급 이상의 VPN 보안장비에 패한 연구가 활발히 진행되리라 예상된다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 수십Giga급의 고속 정보보호시스템 구현 시 반드시 필요로 되는 암호화 칩의 성능을 비교 분석하고, 가능성을 제시한다.

  • There are two approaches to construct mobile GIS, Vector and Raster methods, according to the map data transformation format from server to mobile client. Each method requires a different implementation architecture of server and client modules for mobile map services. And each have advantages and disadvantages at the different aspects. This thesis implements these two approaches, thus, compares the each merits, by experiments. They include the transmission performance, map quality, and so on.

  • This paper is study of buffering system for multimedia server. We propose the scheme that increasing the performance of multimedia sever by using the buffer sharing scheme and slot addressing algorithm to maximize fixed buffer utilization. Also, we calculate reference time about a used block and next stream reuse that stram. As a result, we propose the buffering system satisfy the users request using the extra bandwidth that reducing multimedia server I/O.

  • Recently, research activities for combining portable computer technology and wireless communication technology are in progress to realize mobile computing environment that designed to support mobile hosts in the existing network environments. For PCN environments, the location management strategies are particularly emphasized among various strategies necessary for the mobile computing environment. Location management strategy for PCN environment, which is mostly based on the IS-41 standards brings an issue that additional network traffics are generated to deliver updata messages to home location server whenever a mobile host changes its location server. In this paper, we propose an innovative updata strategy and a search strategy that resolves the problem shown in the IS-41 scheme for HLR/VLR structure of CDMA environments. Also, this paper presents the performance comparison of proposed scheme and scheme used in IS-41 obtained from a simulation. The simulation was conducted based on the number of messages, the rate of database accesses, and the number of hops visited when the location management scheme is executed.

A Simulation Model of Object Movement for Evaluating the Communication Load in Networked Virtual Environments

  • In this paper, we propose a common simulation model that can be reused for different performance evaluations of networked virtual environments. To this end, we analyzed the common features of NVEs, in which multiple regions compose a shared space, and where a user has his/her own interest area. Communication architecture can be client-server or peer-server models. In usual simulations, users move around the world while the number of users varies with the system. Our model provides various simulation parameters to customize the region configuration and user movement pattern. Furthermore, our model introduces a way to mimic a lot of users in a minimal experiment environment. The proposed model is integrated with our network framework, which supports various scalability approaches. We specifically applied our model to the interest management and load distribution schemes to evaluate communication overhead. With the proposed simulation model, a new simulation can be easily designed in a large-scale environment.

  • Content Delivery Network (CDN) has evolved to overcome a network bottleneck and improve user perceived Quality of Service (QoS). A CDN replicates contents from the origin server to replica servers to reduce the overload of the origin server. CDN providers would try to achieve an acceptable performance at the least cost including the storage space or processing power. In this paper, we introduce a new optimization model for the CDN design problem considering the user perceived QoS and single path (non-bifurcated) routing constraints and analyze the computational complexity for some special cases.

  • LCC(Launch Control Center) in NARO space center performs a data monitoring and control through the interface to the external system of launch vehicle. Launch control function needs high reliability and processing speed. Hence, LCS(Launch Control System) is made up a real time system. An important role of the LCS Prototype is discovering a risk element and minimizing it through developing a launch control system. This paper deals with a real time data processing among the simulator, gateway, data distribution server, command and control server which is involving LCS Prototype.

  • This paper proposes a cluster-based PCS(Personal Communication Services) network architecture to support increased signaling and control traffic. The procedures are presented to serve the mjobility management and the efficient procesing of the call-control functional using distributed servers. Especially when call-setups are made within a cluster, this distributed servers. Especially when call-setup time and the amount of control traffic of H-HLS (High level Home Location Server) in the network as L-HLS(Low lever Home Location Server) serves the call on behalf of H-HLS. Performance and reliability of the architecture have been also cairried out.

  • Almost all network systems provide an authentication mechanism based on user ID and password. In such system, it is easy to obtain the user password using a sniffer program with illegal eavesdropping. The one-time password and challenge-response method are useful authentication schemes that protect the user passwords against eavesdropping. In client/server environments, the one-time password scheme using time is especially useful because it solves the synchronization problem. It is the stability that is based on Square Root Problem, and we would like to suggest PBI(password Based Identification), enhancing the stability, for all of the well-known attacks by now including Off-line dictionary attack, password file compromise, Server and so on. The PBI is also excellent in the aspect of the performance.

  • Real-time applications as multimedia file transfer, it is necessary to use a disk array as a system. For Providing requested service to much more clients at the same time in a multimedia storage server considerable varied strategies in a several parts. But especially it is important to various parameters for disk array such as relation of striping block size as a system environmental characteristics of video data. In this paper we evaluated the suitable storage system architecture implementing them applying synthetically generated workloads that varied in the parameters interest in real environment of multimedia server.
