The bronchopleural fistula is the most common and serious complication of postpneumonectomy empyema. We experienced one case of postpneumonectomy empyema with bronchopleural fistula which treated with Abruzzini operation using residual long bronchial stump. Median sternotomy was used with extension about 3cm incision toward cephalic side. We ligated and divided the innominate vein. We did not open the pericardium with extrapericardial approach. Stapler was used to distal bronchial side and additional interupt sutures were used on proximal side.

신생아에서 발생한 긴장성 심막 기종은 매우 심각하며 즉각적인 치료를 하지 않으면 심장 압전증(cardiac tamponade)에 의해 사망하는 것으로 알려져 있다. 저자들은 기계 환기 중 발생한 긴장성 심막기종을 조기에 진단하고 개방성 심낭막 개창술로 치료하였기에 문헌 고찰과 더불어 보고하는 바이다.

Percutaneous epidural neuroplasty (PEN) is a known interventional technique for the management of spinal pain. As with any procedures, PEN is associated with complications ranging from mild to more serious ones. We present a case of intracranial subdural hematoma after PEN requiring surgical evacuation. We review the relevant literature and discuss possible complications of PEN and patholophysiology of intracranial subdural hematoma after PEN.

Prosthetic valve endocarditis with aortic root abscess is a serious condition requiring urgent surgical intervention. We present a case caused by an infected Bentall mechanical valve conduit after cardiac surgery in a patient who was referred for a suprasternal pulsatile mass. The patient also had 1 episode of sentinel haemorrhage.

This paper argues that Thailand's internal colonial model is facing severe challenges: no longer is it so possible to suppress local and regional identities, or to submerge ethnic difference in an all-embracing but potentially suffocating blanket of "Thainess." In recent decades, Thailand's diverse localities have become increasingly assertive. This is most acutely the case in the insurgency-affected southern border provinces of Pattani, Yala, and Narathiwat, but also applies in the "red' (pro-Thaksin) dominated North and Northeast. As the old ruling elite faces serious legitimacy challenges, Thailand's emerging post-colonial politics may require a radical rethinking of the relationship between center and periphery.

For many people, the digital domain is becoming as important as the real world. The virtual environment is no longer just a place for entertainment and leisure. Blockchain transactions are serious business. Digital assets are seen as investments, with as much real value as physical assets. Does the law protect rights in digital assets, such as cryptocurrencies and NFTs? This article discusses recent case law that expands the common law concept of property to digital assets.

This study is to classify subjectification and the perceived health of the elderly according to Q-methodology and to provide basic materials for health promotion of the elderly. In this study, 28 elderly people residing in Seoul classified 33 selected statements in to 9 standards. The material taken from this process resulted in 4 types by the analysis using a PC QUANL program. Case 1 thought that religion was important for their health. Case 2 were go-getters they thought they felt healthy at work. Case 3 took a serious view of their relationships with other people. Case 4 centered around the couple, and thought it important to live with their life's companion.

Pounding between closely located adjacent buildings is a serious issue of dense cities in the earthquake prone areas. Seismic responses of adjacent buildings subjected to earthquake induced pounding are numerically studied in this paper. The adjacent buildings are modeled as the lumped mass shear buildings subjected to earthquake acceleration and the pounding forces are modeled as the Kelvin contact force model. The Kelvin model is activated when the separation gap is closed and the buildings pound together. Characteristics of the Kelvin model are extensively explored and a new procedure is proposed to determine its stiffness. The developed model is solved numerically and a SDOF pounding case as well as a MDOF pounding case of multistory adjacent buildings are elaborated and discussed. Effects of different separation gaps, building heights and earthquake excitations on the seismic responses of adjacent buildings are obtained. Results show that the seismic responses of adjacent buildings are affected negatively by the pounding. More stories pound together and pounding is more intense if the separation gap is smaller. When the height of buildings differs significantly, the taller building is almost unaffected while the shorter building is affected detrimentally. Finally, the buildings should be analyzed case by case considering the potential earthquake excitation in the area.

Objectives: This study aims to present the case of poisoning associated with Phytolacca radix. Case Presentation: A 61-year-old male with nausea, vomiting, dizziness, and abdominal pain after ingesting about 10 centimeters of Phytolacca radix visited Korean medicine hospital. He began to show symptoms one hour after eating the plants. Methods: The patient was diagnosed with poisoning by Phytolacca radix. The patient received acupuncture, moxibustion, and herbal medicine treatment including Glycyrrhizae radix. laboratory test including complete blood count, biochemistry was also conducted. Results: Treatment, including acupuncture, moxibustion, and herbal medicine, improved his symptoms. His symptoms subsided within two hours. The laboratory test conducted on the next day show a slight increase in his white blood cell, blood urea nitrogen, urine ketone levels. There was no damage to the liver or kidneys. Conclusions: This report demonstrates the need for caution when consuming wild plants, which could lead to serious adverse effects. Patients should be alerted to the indiscriminate ingestion of wild plants. Further research on how to treat poisoning in Korean medicine needs to be considered to confirm these findings.

Lee Je Ma (1837~1900) wrote the DongEuSuSeBoWon in 1894. Constitutional Medicine what is called Sasang Medicine has originated from him. In this book he refers to mild, serious, intractable, incurable and fatal disease. In the sight of his Medical theory each state of disease deserves to be researched. 1. In the case of Soumin exhaustion of Yang, Taeyang-Kwolum, noxious Yin, Yang is kept in the exterior by excessive Yin in the interior, middle diabetes and swelling belong to intractable disease and solid mass in the right epigastric zone belongs to fatal disease. 2. In the case of Soyangin exhaustion of Yin, lower diabetes, afternoon fever due to deficiency of Yin, spitting blood and swelling belong to intractable disease and distention of abdomen with gas or fluid belongs to fatal disease. 3. In the case of Taeumin syncope due to chills, dryness-heat, diabetes, pain of chest and abdomen and swelling belong to intractable disease and apoplexy with dosed eyes belongs to fatal disease. 4. In the case of Taeyangin vertebral disease makes flaccidity of lower limbs and dysphagia with vomiting of frothy fluid belongs to fatal disease.
