  • In this paper, a series compensator with a resonant LC circuit and a shunt compensator with the resonant circuit are compared based on the respective rating of its circuit elements. The rating are calculated over a range of compensation and over a range of bus angle. The components ratings are expressed in a per unit values. The results of this study can be easily converted to actual MVA by a simple change in scale. The methodology presented to rate the various components within the system will help to determine the feasibility of various FACTS devices in costs.

다부하를 갖는 유도가열기기를 위한 고역률 이중 하프브릿지 직렬공진 인버터 (High Power Factor Dual Half Bridge Series Resonant Inverter for an Induction Heating Appliance with Multiple Loads)

  • 근접부하의 동작주파수의 차이에 의해 발생하는 간섭가청잡음을 제거하기 위해서 다부하를 갖는 유도가열기를 위한 새로운 고역률 이중 하프브릿지 직렬공진 인버터를 제안한다. 이 회로는 하나의 인버터로 두 개의 유도가열요소를 독립적으로 전대역 출력제어를 할 수 있고 영전압 스위칭 특성 때문에 최소 스위칭 손실을 갖는다. 모드분석을 통해서 제안된 회로의 동작을 설명할 것이다. 요구되는 냉각능력을 평가하기 위해서 몇 개의 손실식을 유도함으로써 손실분석을 행하였다. 역률제어기능을 갖고 시스템의 크기를 축소하기 위해서 적절한 설계가이드를 제시하였다. 이렇게 설계된 값들을 사용하여 각 유도가열요소가 2.8kW 전력소모를 갖는 proto-type 회로를 구성하고 제안된 회로의 동작을 확인하기 위해서 실험을 행하였다.

  • The multi-resonant converter minimizes a parasitic oscillation by using the resonant tank circuit absorbed parasitic reactance existing in a converter circuit. So it is possible that the converter operated at a high frequency has a high efficiency because the losses are reduced. However, the resonant voltage stress across a switch is four or five times a input voltage. This high voltage stress increases the conduction loss. In this paper, we proposed the AT flyback multi-resonant converter. The proposed converter can reduce the voltage stress to two or three times by using two series input capacitors. The operational principle of the proposed converter was verified through the experimental converter.

  • In this paper, a constant frequency phase shifting PWM-controlled voltage source full bridge-type series load resonant high-frequency inverter using the $4^{th}$ generation IGBT power modules is presented for innovative consumer electromagnetic induction heating applications, such as a hot water producer, steamer and super heated steamer. The bridge arm side link passive capacitive snubbers in parallel with each power semiconductor device and AC load side linked active edge inductive snubber-assisted series load resonant tank soft switching inverter with a constant frequency phase shifted PWM control scheme is evaluated and discussed on the basis of the simulation and experimental results. It is proved from a practical point of view that the series load resonant and edge resonant hybrid high-frequency inverter topology, what is called, DE class type, including the variable-power variable-frequency regulation function can expand zero voltage soft switching commutation area even under low output power setting ranges, which is more suitable and acceptable for newly developed induction heated dual pack fluid heaters. Furthermore, even the lower output power regulation mode of this high-frequency load resonant tank inverter circuit is verified so that this inverter can achieve ZVS with the aid of the single auxiliary inductor snubber.

  • A high frequency and soft-switched AC-to-DC rectifier employing a series-type resonant circuit is proposed to overcome the disadvantages of the conventional peak-rectifying circuit. Using the proposed rectifier, the high power factor and low harmonic currents are obtained in the AC line. Furthermore, several advantages such as the high power density and wide output voltage range can be available. Through the simulation and experimental results, the usefulness of the proposed rectifier is verified.

  • This paper studies a new three-level pulse-width modulation (PWM) resonant converter for high input voltage and high load current applications. In order to use high frequency power MOSFETs for high input voltage applications, a three-level DC converter with two clamped diodes and a flying capacitor is adopted in the proposed circuit. For high load current applications, the secondary sides of the proposed converter are connected in parallel to reduce the size of the magnetic core and copper windings and to decrease the current rating of the rectifier diodes. In order to share the load current and reduce the switch counts, three resonant converters with the same active switches are adopted in the proposed circuit. Two transformers with a series connection in the primary side and a parallel connection in the secondary side are adopted in each converter to balance the secondary side currents. To overcome the drawback of a wide range of switching frequencies in conventional series resonant converters, the duty cycle control is adopted in the proposed circuit to achieve zero current switching (ZCS) turn-off for the rectifier diodes and zero voltage switching (ZVS) turn-on for the active switches. Finally, experimental results are provided to verify the effectiveness of the proposed converter.

  • Dynamic modelling and controller design technique for constant-frequency series resonant converter with buck type preregulator are mainly described in this paper. An equivalent circuit model is derived and a state equation is developed from this model. To improve the dynamic performance, a negative feedback of inductor current is added to the proportional and integral control of output voltage. Furthermore, an optimization technique with prescribed eigenvalue region is applied to the determination of feedback gains. With the presented design method, much better dynamic performance can be obtained.

  • The Modeling analysis and design of a high frequency LC-type series and LLCC-type parallel resonant converter oprating in the continous conduction is presented. The state-plane diagram representation of the converter response gives and good insight into the converter operation. A set of characterisric frequency are plotted which design parameters can be obtained.

  • 본 논문에서는 위상제어를 이용한 LCL형 직렬공진 콘버터의 간단한 AC 복소해석이 수행되었다. 이 해석에 근거하여 탱크 회로의 volt-ampere 정격을 증가시키지 않는 콘버터의 최적 설계를 가능하게 하는 일련의 특성곡선들을 제시하였다. 특히 정격부하나 경부하에서도 인버터 출력전류의 피크치를 최소화할 수 있게 되었다. 제시한 설계 예에서, 과부하에서 경부하에 이르는 넓은 부하범위에서 영전압 턴온 동작을 할 수 있음을 보여준다. 시뮬레이션과 실험결과를 통해 제안된 회로의 유용성을 증명한다.

  • 컴퓨터 부하는 현대사회 전반에 걸쳐 널리 사용되고 있다. 개인용 컴퓨터의 스위칭 모드 전원공급 장치는 고조파 전류를 발생시키는 주된 발생원이다. 고조파 전류는 전압파형 왜곡, 과다한 중성선 전류, 측정오차, 컴퓨터 일시 정지등 많은 고조파 장해를 일으킬 수 있다. 본 논문의 목적은 단상 개인용 컴퓨터 부하의 고조파 해석용 등가회로 모델링과 고조파 전류를 저감하기 위한 상품화된 직렬 동조 필터를 국제 고조파 관리 기준인 IEEE 519-1992와 IEC 1000-3-2를 근거로 평가하는데 있다.
