  • A mathematical model for the input-output characteristic of an amplifier exhibiting gain expansion and weak and strong nonlinearities is presented. The model, basically a Fourier-series function, can yield closed-form series expressions for the amplitudes of the output components resulting from multisinusoidal input signals to the amplifier. The special case of an equal-amplitude two-tone input signal is considered in detail. The results show that unless the input signal can drive the amplifier into its nonlinear region, no gain expansion or minimum intermodulation performance can be achieved. For sufficiently large input amplitudes that can drive the amplifier into its nonlinear region, gain expansion and minimum intermodulation performance can be achieved. The input amplitudes at which these phenomena are observed are strongly dependent on the amplifier characteristics.

  • In this paper, a wireless charging system for drones is developed. The system is consists of PFC(Power Factor Correction), Full-Bridge inverter, S-S(Series-Series) resonant circuit and Full-Bridge rectifier. The parameters of the S-S resonant circuit is designed and calculated. According to these parameters and the switching devices, the system model without PFC is setted up with thermal module devices in PSIM. When output voltage is setted to 50[V] and input voltage is changed from 100[V] to 380[V], The efficiency of the system model is measured by simulation.

  • This paper describes controller design and simulation-model development of a dynamic voltage compensator using series and shunt inverters. The control system was designed using PI controller and vector relationship between the supply voltage and load voltage. A simulation model with EMTP was developed to analyze performance of the controller and the whole system. The simulation and experiment results confirm that the dynamic compensator can restore the load voltage under the fault of the distribution system, such as single-line-ground fault, three-line-to-ground fault, and line-to-line fault.

  • This paper describes the steady state performance of a self-excited wound type induction generator with stator and rotor windings connected in series along with excitation capacitors. For this purpose a mathematical model is developed by means of the well known generalized machine theory utilizing d-q axis orthogonal transformation. This model can be used to analyze short shunt and long shunt generators as well as shunt generator and the algorithm for this analysis is persented. The characteristics of generators are compared one another by using parameters which are validated by Mostafa et al.

  • The demands for robotic and automatic system are continually increasing in manufacturing fields. There were so many studies to monitor and predict system, but it were mainly relied upon measuring of cutting force, current of motor spindle and using acoustic sensor, etc. In this study digital image of time series sequence was acquired taking advantage of optical technique. Then, mean square error was obtained from it and was available for useful observation data. The parameter was estimated using PAA(parameter adaptation algorithm) from observation data. AR model was selected for system model, fifth order was decided according to parameter estimation. Uncorrelation test was also carried out to verify convergence of parameter. Through the proceedings, we found there was a system stability.

  • Time-lag recurrent neural networks model (Time-Lag RNNM) is used to estimate daily pan evaporation (PE) using limited climatic variables such as max temperature ($T_{max}$), min temperature ($T_{min}$), mean wind speed ($W_{mean}$) and mean relative humidity ($RH_{mean}$). And, for the performances of Time-Lag RNNM, it is composed of training and test performances, respectively. The training and test performances are carried out using daily time series data, respectively. From this research, we evaluate the impact of Time-Lag RNNM for the modeling of the nonlinear time series data. We should, thus, construct the credible data of the daily PE using Time-Lag RNNM, and can suggest the methodology for the irrigation and drainage networks system. Furthermore, this research represents that the strong nonlinear relationship such as pan evaporation modeling can be generalized using Time-Lag RNNM.

  • A series of laboratory tests were performed to evaluate engineering properties of geobag system which is used for urgent restoration of the collapsed roadbed. In this study, the suitable geobag size was proposed as 44cm wide and 66cm long, and the suitable filling ratio of geobag was also proposed as 80% through the static loading tests. Also a series of model tests were carried out to investigate the characteristics of the engineering behavior and the distribution of earth pressure of the geobag roadbed under static and dynamic loading.

  • To identify possible associations with concentrations of ambient air pollutants and daily mortality in Busan, this study assessed the effects of air pollution for the time period 1999-2000. Poisson regression analysis by Generalized Additive Model were conducted considering trend, season, meteorology, and day-of-the-week as confounders in a nonparametric approach. Busan had a 10% increase in mortality in persons aged 65 and older(95% Cl : 1.01-1.10) in association with IQR in $NO_2$(lagged 2 days). An increase of $NO_2$(lagged 2days) was associated with a 4% increase in respiratory mortality(Cl : 1.02-1.11) and CO(lagged 1 day) showed a 3% increase(Cl : 1.00-1.07).

  • Many researchers had considered biological systems as linear systems. In many cases of biological systems, the phenomena that show the regular and periodic dynamics are considered the normal state. However, some clinical experiments reported, in some cases, the periodic signals represented the abnormal state. We assume that signals from human body system are generated from deterministic, intrinsic mechanisms and can be represented a simple equation that show nonlinear dynamics dependent on control parameters. The objective of our study is to model a nonlinear dynamics correctly from the nonlinear time series using the genetic programming method; to find a simple equation of nonlinear dynamics using collected time series and its nonlinear characteristics. We applied genetic programming to model RR interval of ECG that shows chaotic phenomena. We used 4 statistic measures and 2 fractal measures to estimate fitness of each chromosome, and could obtain good solutions of which chaotic features are similar.

  • This paper presents a linear quadratic gaussian(LQG) based power system stabilizer(PSS) to control subsynchronous resonance(SSR) that occurs in a series capacitor compensated power systems. The complete SSR system based on the IEEE first benchmark model is employed in this study. Eigenvalue analysis and time domain simulations using a nonlinear system model show that the proposed PSS controls SSR efficiently.
