IVA 기반의 2채널 암묵적신호분리에서 주파수빈 뒤섞임 문제 해결을 위한 후처리 과정 (Post-Processing of IVA-Based 2-Channel Blind Source Separation for Solving the Frequency Bin Permutation Problem)

  • The IVA(Independent Vector Analysis) is a well-known FD-ICA method used to solve the frequency permutation problem. It generally works quite well for blind source separation problems, but still needs some improvements in the frequency bin permutation problem. This paper proposes a post-processing method which can improve the source separation performance with the IVA by fixing the remaining frequency permutation problem. The proposed method makes use of the correlation coefficient of power ratio between frequency bins for separated signals with the IVA-based 2-channel source separation. Experimental results verified that the proposed method could fix the remaining frequency permutation problem in the IVA and improve the speech quality of the separated signals.

스테레오 패닝 음원을 위한 음원 분리 알고리즘 (A Source Separation Algorithm for Stereo Panning Sources)

  • 본 논문에서는 패닝 기법을 이용하여 믹싱된 스테레오 음원에서 음원을 분리하는 방법에 대하여 고찰한다. 음원 분리 알고리즘은 다채널 포맷 변환을 위한 업믹스나 음질 개선, 고품질 음원 분리 등 다양한 응용분야에 사용될 수 있다. 본 논문에서 사용하는 음원 분리 알고리즘은 믹싱된 스테레오 채널을 시간-주파수 별로 PCA(Principal Component Analysis) 분석 방법을 이용하여 각각의 음원들이 패닝된 방향을 추정하며, 추정된 방향의 성분만을 추출하는 방향 필터링 과정을 거쳐 음원들을 독립적으로 분리 해 낸다. 실험을 통해 각 음원 분리 알고리즘의 성능을 평가하였다.

  • We propose a new algorithm for blind source separation (BSS), in which frequency-domain independent component analysis (FDICA) and time-domain ICA (TDICA) are combined to achieve a superior source-separation performance under reverberant conditions. Generally speaking, conventional TDICA fails to separate source signals under heavily reverberant conditions because of the low convergence in the iterative learning of the inverse of the mixing system. On the other hand, the separation performance of conventional FDICA also degrades significantly because the independence assumption of narrow-band signals collapses when the number of subbands increases. In the proposed method, the separated signals of FDICA are regarded as the input signals for TDICA, and we can remove the residual crosstalk components of FDICA by using TDICA. The experimental results obtained under the reverberant condition reveal that the separation performance of the proposed method is superior to that of conventional ICA-based BSS methods.

Langmuir 미끄럼 경계조건을 이용한 미소 박리유동의 예측 (Predictions of Microscale Separated Flow using Langmuir Slip Boundary Condition)

  • The current study analyzes Langmuir slip boundary condition theoretically and it is tested in practical numerical analysis for separation-associated flow. Slip phenomenon at the channel wall is properly implemented by various numerical slip boundary conditions including Langmuir slip model. Compressible backward-facing step flow is compared to other analysis results with the purpose of diatomic gas Langmuir slip model validation. The numerical solutions of pressure and velocity distributions where separation occurs are in good agreement with other numerical results. Numerical analysis is conducted for Reynolds number from 10 to 60 for a prediction of separation at T-shaped micro manifold. Reattachment length of flows shows nonlinear distribution at the wall of side branch. The Langmuir slip model predicts fairly the physics in terms of slip effect and separation.

Sparse Kernel Independent Component Analysis for Blind Source Separation

  • We address the problem of Blind Source Separation(BSS) of superimposed signals in situations where one signal has constant or slowly varying intensities at some consecutive locations and at the corresponding locations the other signal has highly varying intensities. Independent Component Analysis(ICA) is a major technique for Blind Source Separation and the existing ICA algorithms fail to estimate the original intensities in the stated situation. We combine the advantages of existing sparse methods and Kernel ICA in our technique, by proposing wavelet packet based sparse decomposition of signals prior to the application of Kernel ICA. Simulations and experimental results illustrate the effectiveness and accuracy of the proposed approach. The approach is general in the way that it can be tailored and applied to a wide range of BSS problems concerning one-dimensional signals and images(two-dimensional signals).

북한 해주만 부근 해사의 선별 및 광물학적 특성 (Separation and Mineralogy of Marine Sand Near Haeju bay, North Korea)

  • 황해도 해주만 근해로부터 채취된 해사로부터 비중선별 및 자력선별을 통한 중광물의 회수공정을 실시하여, 광물학적 특성을 분석하였다. 해주 해사 내에 포함된 중광물 중 유용광물로는 티탄철석, 자철석, 적철석, 저어콘 및 소량의 모나자이트가 그리고 맥석광물로는 석영, 정장석, 알바이트 백운모, 보통각섬석 및 석류석 등이었다. SIROQUANT 프로그램에 의한 정량분석 결과, 요동테이블 선별(shaking table separation), 영구자석을 이용한 자력선별(rare-earth magnetic separation) 및 전자석 자력선별(Eddy current magnetic separation)로부터 회수한 유용광물의 함량은 각각 4%, 10% 및 76~89% (7000 G 및 10000 G인 조건에서)로 증가되었다. 화학분석으로부터 계산된 티탄철석, 모나자이트 및 저어콘의 함량은 XRD 정량 결과와는 다소 차이를 보였으나 그 경향이 유사하였다. 티탄철석의 경우에는 7000 G 및 10000 G에서 각각 53% 및 66%가 농집 되었으며, 모나자이트의 경우에는 영구자석을 이용한 1차 자력선별의 자성간물에서 가장 높은 약 1.2%를 보였다. 한편 저어콘의 경우에는 10000 G의 2차 전자석 자력선별에서 약 1.4%의 함량을 보였다. 특히 영구자석을 이용한 자력선별 후 비자성 광물군에 포함된 시료 중 +50메쉬인 입단에서 약 9%를 보였다.

Homotopy continuation 방법을 이용한 다탑 분리 공정의 해석 (Analysis of interlinked separation processes using homotopy continuation methods)

  • An improved and flexible matrix algorithm for solving interlinked separation problems which is based on the homotopy continuation method has been developed. A flexible model of the interlinked stream in standardized matrix form and JACOBIAN generation I algorithm for homotopy continuation are suggested. Also DOF analysis is performed for easy-understanding of equation based simulation of complex column systems. The Algorithm is tested on several problems of interlinked separation processes and some of results are documented.

Crack growth prediction and cohesive zone modeling of single crystal aluminum-a molecular dynamics study

  • Initiation of crack and its growth simulation requires accurate model of traction - separation law. Accurate modeling of traction-separation law remains always a great challenge. Atomistic simulations based prediction has great potential in arriving at accurate traction-separation law. The present paper is aimed at establishing a method to address the above problem. A method for traction-separation law prediction via utilizing atomistic simulations data has been proposed. In this direction, firstly, a simpler approach of common neighbor analysis (CNA) for the prediction of crack growth has been proposed and results have been compared with previously used approach of threshold potential energy. Next, a scheme for prediction of crack speed has been demonstrated based on the stable crack growth criteria. Also, an algorithm has been proposed that utilizes a variable relaxation time period for the computation of crack growth, accurate stress behavior, and traction-separation atomistic law. An understanding has been established for the generation of smoother traction-separation law (including the effect of free surface) from a huge amount of raw atomistic data. A new curve fit has also been proposed for predicting traction-separation data generated from the molecular dynamics simulations. The proposed traction-separation law has also been compared with the polynomial and exponential model used earlier for the prediction of traction-separation law for the bulk materials.

A Computational Study on the Unsteady Lateral Loads in a Rocket Nozzle

  • A numerical study of the unsteady flow in an over-expanded thrust optimized contour and compressed truncated perfect rocket nozzle is carried out in present paper. These rocket nozzles are subject to flow separation in transient phase at engine start-up and/or engine shut-down. The separation flow structures at different pressure ratios are observed. The start-up process exhibits two different shock structures such as FSS (Free Shock Separation) and RSS (Restricted Shock Separation). For a range of pressure ratios, hysteresis phenomenon occurs between these two separation patterns. A three-dimension compressible Navier-Stokes solver is used for the present study. One equation Spalart-Allmaras turbulence model is selected. The computed nozzle wall pressures show a good agreement with the experimental measurements. Present results have shown that present code can be used for the analysis of the transient flows in nozzle.

의약분업 전.후 병원재무구조 평가 (Analysis of Financial Structure of Hospitals Before and After The Separation of Prescription and Drug Dispensing Policy)

  • This study is aimed at evaluating the financial structure of hospitals before and after the separation of prescription and drug dispensing policy started to be implemented in July 2000 and at making a suitable hospital managerial strategy through the verification of the factors which have effect on their profitability. This study investigated the hospitals which have passed the accredition review to be designated as a accredited training hospital each year for three years from 1999 to 2001. Those hospitals were selected from members of the Korea Hospital Association. 106 hospitals were targeted for analysis except for the hospitals whose financial statements and managerial performance were not reported faithfully. The financial indicators used in this study were stability indicators(liability to total assets, ratio of debt to fund balance, fixed ratio), liquidity indicators(current ratio, quick ratio), activity indicators(total assets turnover, fixed assets turnover), profitability indicators(net profit to total assets, net profit to net worth, operating margin), and operating expenses to patient revenues indicators(drug and supplies costs/payroll/overhead expenses). The result of this study are as follows: First, the analysis of the increase of loss-making hospitals before and after. The separation of prescription and drug dispensing policy shows that the number of loss-making hospitals increase after the separation(22.6% before the separation; 31.1% after the separation). However, there was no significant statistical difference. Second, the analysis of operating expenses to patient revenues indicators showed that the ratio of drug and supplies cost became lower in all hospitals but the ratio of payroll/overhead expenses became higher. Additionally, the factor which have the greatest effect on profitability was operating expenses to patient revenues indicators (drug and supplies costs/payroll/overhead expenses). Third, the analysis of managerial performance by four types of loss-loss, loss-profit, profit-loss and profit-profit compared the results before the separation with those after the separation revealed as follows : Reliance on liability to total assets became higher in the profit-loss type($56.2%{\rightarrow}66.4%$), lower in the loss-profit type($82.7%{\rightarrow}74.5%$). Total assets turnover became higher in the profit-profit type($1.3{\rightarrow}1.5$), but lower in the loss-profit type($0.8{\rightarrow}0.7$). Operating margin decreased to minus 5.9% from 4.3% in the profit-loss type, but increased to 7.2% from minus 7.8% in the loss-profit type. Forth, operating expenses to revenues indicators showed that the increase of payroll was the biggest in the profit-loss type($39.2%{\rightarrow}49.9%$) and that overhead cost decreased in the loss-profit type but that rather increased in other types.
