In this paper, to improve the accuracy of long sentence similarity calculation, we proposed a sentence similarity calculation method based on a system similarity function. The algorithm uses word2vector as the system elements to calculate the sentence similarity. The higher accuracy of our algorithm is derived from two characteristics: one is the negative effect of penalty item, and the other is that sentence similar function (SSF) based on word2vector similar elements doesn't satisfy the exchange rule. In later studies, we found the time complexity of our algorithm depends on the process of calculating similar elements, so we build an index of potentially similar elements when training the word vector process. Finally, the experimental results show that our algorithm has higher accuracy than the word mover's distance (WMD), and has the least query time of three calculation methods of SSF.
In Huangdao Dialect, the "NP1+VP+起+NP2" sentence structure can not only be used with monosyllabic and bisyllabic adjectives and active adjectives, but also with passive adjectives. The usage of the VP is broader in Huangdao Dialect than in Qingdao dialect in case it is a verb phrase. The negative of "NP1+VP+起+NP2" sentence structure uses "不" or "沒有." If common comparative element can be found between NP1 and NP2, the negative particles are used at the beginning of the sentence in general to generate topic sentences. NP1 is often a common noun, modifying phrase, and quantifying phrase, while it can also be a verb-object phrase or modifying phrase. Huangdao Dialect may exhibit specific quantifying phrases that express comparative differences. The inquisitive style of "NP1+VP+起+NP2" sentence structure include appending a question mark at the end of the sentence, combining the positive and negative forms of the adjective, and appending "'是沒" or "是不是" in the front of the adjective.
This paper attempts to investigate phonetic substances of the stress patterns of English compounds and noun phrases, showing that the theoretically derived stress structures are not consistent with the accentual patterns in real utterances. Even though it has been long claimed that compounds have the stress pattern [1 3] and that noun phrases, [2 1] as in Chomsky & Halle (1968), their difference has not been yet explored empirically or phonetically. I present a phonetic experiment conducted to see if there is any difference along the tonal contours, mostly focusing on their pitch accent distribution. 36 different compounds and 36 different noun phrases included in carrier sentences were examined, and they were varied in position within a sentence. Results showed that various accentual patterns were produced, and among them, [H* X] predominantly occurs in all three positions in both compounds and noun phrases, whereas the patterns [X H*] and [X X] appear relatively more frequently in final position than in initial and medial position. Furthermore, the pattern [Ac + No], in which the preceding element is pitch-accented with no accent on the following one, is the major stress pattern in both compounds and noun phrases and in all three sentence positions. This suggests that there seems to be no difference in accentual patterns between compounds and noun phrases, which is not consistent with the hypothesis. The results are interpreted as saying that the preceding element alone tends to be prominent with no accent following it both in compounds and noun phrases, and that therefore, theoretically speculated phonological claims are not always phonetically supported.
It has been one of the puzzles in the English syntax that so called the rule of subject-auxiliary inversion (SAI) is not allowed in subject wh-movement while it is not obligatory in non-subject wh-movement in a root sentence. This asymmetry has been a puzzle since SAI itself was thought to be a part of question construction as we can observe from yes/no questions. The asymmetry gets more complicated in terms of sentence embedding, i.e no SAI is permitted in the embedded context in question. The goal of this paper is to suggest an unified analysis for this unsolved grammatical phenomena on the basis of Rizzi (1997)'s recent work. The main idea is that SAI is not a I-to-C movement but one of I-to-Focus where Focus is a functional category and its phrase is located between CP and IP. The other proposal is that Wh-movement is no more homogeneous in terms of landing site between a root and an embedded sentence: the target for a wh-phrase in the former is the Spec of FocP (Focus Phrase) but the one in the latter is the Spec of CP as the standard theory assumes. Pesetsky (l999)'s analysis is discussed and its theoretical and empirical shortages are pointed out. Its rather radical proposals such as the one that the nominative case is just an uninterpretable tense feature of DP and the other that 'that' is no longer a complementizer but an element of I(nflection) make it less acceptable in spite of the possibility that it can get rid of Case theory entirely, which would be ideal in the spirit of minimalism.

In this paper, we present a 5W1H programming model for IT non-experienced people who are not familiar with computer programming and those who need programming education. Based on this model, we can design a development tool that can be easily programmed by beginners. This development tool is a programming method applying the 5W1H concept and constructs a sentence to satisfy the control condition of 'Who, When, Where, What, and How', which is the sentence element of 5W1H. Therefore, the user can easily develop the target system as if constructing the sentence without learning the programming language of the target system. In this paper, to verify the effectiveness of the 5W1H programming model proposed in this paper, we applied the concept of 5W1H programming to Arduino and developed the development tool and performed the first verification and applied the second verification to the speech recognition smart home development platform.

This study proposes the analysis method in sentence semantics that can be automatically identified and processed as appropriate items in the system according to the composition of the sentences contained in the data corresponding to the logical semantic structure metadata of the research papers. In order to achieve the purpose, the structure of sentences corresponding to 'Research Objectives' and 'Research Outcomes' among the semantic structure metadata was analyzed based on the number of words, the link word types, the role of many-appeared words in sentences, and the end types of a word. As a result of this study, the number of words in the sentences was 38 in 'Research Objectives' and 212 in 'Research Outcomes'. The link word types in 'Research Objectives' were occurred in the order such as Causality, Sequence, Equivalence, In-other-word/Summary relation, and the link word types in 'Research Outcomes' were appeared in the order such as Causality, Equivalence, Sequence, In-other-word/Summary relation. Analysis target words like '역할(Role)', '요인(Factor)' and '관계(Relation)' played a similar role in both purpose and result part, but the role of '연구(Study)' was little different. Finally, the verb endings in sentences were appeared many times such as '~고자', '~였다' in 'Research Objectives', and '~었다', '~있다', '~였다' in 'Research Outcomes'. This study is significant as a fundamental research that can be utilized to automatically identify and input the metadata element reflecting the common logical semantics of research papers in order to support researchers' scholarly sensemaking.
This study examines the problem of incorrect usage of grammatical terms that are quite common in English grammar teaching process and suggests ways to revise and improve the errors. Parts of speech and sentence elements are indispensable for any grammatical explanation. These grammatical terms are a core part of the grammar, but they are frequently used without being verified correctly and interchangeably with no distinction. These terms refer to different things, and when they are used interchangeably, they cause confusion in the establishment of grammar cognition. In result, there is a crucial need to discuss and improve the definitions of the grammatical terms defined in the English teaching process for proper improvement in effective English education.
Recently there have been various research activities regarding Korean traditional aesthetics. However, those researches were mainly conducted individually, partially, and periodically, which resulted in unsystematic and incomprehensive works. Therefore, it is required to orginze all the precedent research works with more systematic and objective framework. Generally speaking, all the human activities including aesthetic activity have ends, procedure and means. In other words, human being needs three key elements for realizing any thought and those three elements include contents, formal, and practical element. Element of contents is ultimate goal to accomplish as value, concept, and meaning of thought with their aims. Formal element includes methods, principles, norms, procedure, formality and style comprising of thought in order to accomplish the goal. Finally, practical element refers to specific means, tool, media, material and techniques to concretize the contents through form. Almost all of thoughts and meaning which human being tries to express consist of language. Major elements in sentence include 'subject (omissible)' , 'objects (aim)', 'predicate (formality)', 'complement (means)' and they are composed systematically and hierarchically with rules in sentence. The study compared human activity model with language structure and analyzed their implication with design (aesthetics), which made it possible to propose analytic frameworks for traditional aesthetics. In addition, the study also systematically organized the way to realize traditional aesthetic value in the present context based on the methods developed in this study.
Since speaking is correlated with time and time is metaphorically conceptualized in terms of space, it is natural for us to conceptualize language metaphorically in terms of space. For example, we think that the future is in front and the past is behind. Reddy(1979) suggested in his conduit metaphor that linguistic expressions are containers. According to him, the speaker puts his ideas(objects) into words{containers)and sends them along a conduit to a hearer who takes the idea(object) out of the word(container). As a result we are able to know that the larger linguistic expressions have more meaning in it. In other words the space of a linguistic form has close relationship with meaning. Moreover we are able to see that formal distance between arguments or elements of linguistic expressions shows semantic influences between them. If two elements keep close distance, a preceeding element has a strong, direct and whole influence upon the following element. Sometimes even the results of the influence can be brought out implicitly by the formal relation between two elements. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to show that tins difference in meaning which is due to formal distance of sentence elements can be explained by the metaphorical concept presented by Lakoff and Johnson(1980).
Deaccentuation' means the phenomenon that the accent on the particular element which deserves to be accented, disappears and loses the property of intonational prominence. Based on some theoretical background, we divided the cases where deaccentuation can be placed into six categories : the first, the case that the words already mentioned are repeated in the context; the second, the case that the element can be recovered anaphorically or situationally; the third, the case that the elements are semantically weightless; the fourth, the case that the meaning of the word is empty; the fifth, the case that the elements are less informative, so that they are easy to predict; the sixth, the case that the elements are located after the focused words. Then we organized the context and the experimental sentences corresponding to each category. The utterances of Korean and English native speakers were recorded and analysed based on the ToBI system and compared to each other, in order to find out that Korean speakers can distinguish the difference within each sentence pair, and produce them with appropriate intonation similar to that of native speakers.
