Exploring Possibilities of Science Field Experience in Jongmyo Shrine (종묘에서의 과학 현장 체험 학습 가능성 탐색)

  • We explored the possibilities of science field experience in Jongmyo Shrine in this study. To understand the educational value of self-leading science activities in Jongmyo Shrine, one of the World Heritage, we developed science program and applied it to the elementary students participating in a gifted education center. We collected and analyzed various data of opinionnaire survey before and after the program, field activity sheets, field observation, and individual- and group interview. The results showed the lack of students' spatial ability and proposed educational interests in science education. Also, a lot of students felt the difficulty in applying school science knowledge into the real life context. Students found the meaning of science learning through cooperative activities in the historically meaningful place. A proper use of smart device in science field experience was recommended. We found that activities with too much smart device might impede various scientific process skills.

Effects of Avata on Students' Learning Achievement (학습동기 유발을 위한 아바타 활용 수업 개발)

  • All over the world, the number of internet users has been increasing rapidly. In the middle of this rapid increase, there is Avata, which is popular to both adults and children by providing motivation and self-satisfaction. Therefore, the current study tried to find whether an instruction using Avata for the purpose of motivation has an effects on students' achievement among 6th graders. the results showed that the students' achievement in Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Study, and Science were improved significantly.

  • 자기 주도적 문제해결 학습모형은 구성 주의적 학습원칙에 의거한 교수-학습모형으로서 학습자의 학습과정에 대한 적극적 참여(구체적 학습목표 설정, 학습내용과 방향 결정 및 평가에 참여)를 강조한다. 또한 자기 주도적 문제해결이라는 용어에서 알 수 있듯이, 기존의 교과서 중심의 강의전달식과 달리, 학습자의 실제 생활과 밀접하게 관련된 복잡하고 비구조적 '문제'와 PBL에서 제시하는 '문제해결도구'를 사용하여 학습을 진행한다. 결과적으로 본 PBL수업사례는 위의 질문에 대한 매우 긍정적인 결과를 제시함으로서, 요즘 학습자 주도적 학습모형으로 제기되는 여러 모형들과 더불어 기존 학습에 대한 하나의 대안적 접근으로서의 가능성을 보여주고 있다.

  • 본 연구에서는 초기하적 구조라 할 수 있는 하이퍼미디어 구조로 가진 계열성을 넘어선 상호작용적 수업구조의 틀로서 하이퍼미디어를 이용하였다. 이를 컴퓨터 보조 수업이 교수이론의 최근 동향 중에 하나인 개별 학습별 수업의 요구에 부응하여 학습자와 상호작용이 가능하며 즉각적인 피드백을 통해 학습자에게 적절한 자극을 줌으로써 학습의욕의 고취를 강화할 수 있고 학습자의 능력에 따라 학습의 속도를 조절이 가능하여서 개별학습의 효과를 높일 수 있음을 살려보았다. 특히 문자, 그래픽, 영상, 음향, 음성 그리고 비디오 등과 같은 여러 미디어를 병합시켜 표현하는 멀티미디어를 교육에 적용시킨 하이퍼미디어 학습 코스웨어는 학습자의 주의력과 상상력을 키워 줄수 있으며 학습자가 학습에 흥미를 갖고 학습과정에 능동적으로 참여할 수 있도록 하며 적극적으로 원하는 정보를 선정하고 학습 순서 를 조정하는 등 학습 동기가 높은 상호 작용적 학습 환경을 창조하고 자신에게 적합하게 여러 주제로 이동하고 정보를 연결해 보다 융통성 있는 시스템을 이용함으로써 학습의 효과를 높일 수 있음을 살펴보았다.

  • The purpose of this study is examine the relation with the academic motivation variable, cognitive style and the academic achievement, and guide to strategies of Mobile game learning development. Based on cognitive theory, the academic motivation variable has more related with academic achievement. As a result, internal motivation variables has highly positive correlation on academic self efficacy.

  • 이 연구는 프로그래밍 교과의 수행평가에서 자기주도적 학습능력 촉진을 위하여 학업성취도를 분석 및 예측하는 시스템을 목적으로 하였다. 이 연구에서 학업성취도의 평가는 루브릭을 적용하여 프로그래밍 수행평가의 채점을 논리력, 문제해결력, 창의력으로 측정하였으며 학업성취도를 분석하기 위해 학습자별 학업성취도를 측정 준거 별로 그래프로 표현하며 이동평균법을 적용하여 향후 점수를 예측하였다. 이로 인해 학습자는 평가 결과 그래프로 현재 자신의 학습상태를 파악하고 예측 결과로 자신의 학습의 준거 별 장 단점을 분석하여 학습 방향 및 학습시간에 대한 자기 성찰에 도움을 주어 자기주도적 학습능력을 촉진시킬 수 있도록 하였다.

  • By using the neural networks(NN) as system identifier, the on-line self tuning method for fuzzy controller(FC) is proposed. In theis method, the learning of NN is carried out during control operation of FC and the cinsequent parameters of FC is tuned on-line automatically by means of system output errors backpropagated through NN. The Sugeno fuzzy model with constants as consequent parameters is selected for simplifying computation. In procedures of parameter tuning, the gradient descent method is used and the gradient vectors for adjusting the weight of NN are transferred as controller output errors. To evaluate the performance, the proposed method is applied to the inverted pendulum system.

  • In this paper we introduce a new algorithm that enables radial basis function network(RBFN) to be structured automatically and guarantees the stability of the RBFN. Because this new algorithm is efficient and also have the advantage of fast computational speed we adopt this algorithm as online learning scheme for uncertain nonlinear dynamical systems. Based on the fact that a 3-layered RBFN can represent a specific nonlinear function reasonably well by linearly combining a set of nonlinear and localized basis functions, we show that this RBFN can identify the nonlinear system very well without knowing the information of the system in advance.

  • FCM(Fuzzy Cognitive Map) is proposed for representing causal reasoning. Its structure allows systematic causal reasoning through a forward inference. By using the FCM, authors have proposed FCM-based fault diagnostic algorithm. However, it can offer multiple interpretations for a single fault. In process engineering, as experience accumulated, some form of quantitative process knowledge is available. If this information can be integrated into the FCM-based fault diagnosis, the diagnostic resolution can be further improved. The purpose of this paper is to propose an enhanced FCM-based fault diagnostic scheme. Firstly, the membership function of fuzzy set theory is used to integrate quantitative knowledge into the FCM-based diagnostic scheme. Secondly, modified TAM recall procedure is proposed. Considering that the integration of quantitative knowledge into FCM-based diagnosis requires a great deal of engineering efforts, thirdly, an automated procedure for fusing the quantitative knowledge into FCM-based diagnosis is proposed by utilizing self-learning feature of neural network. Finally, the proposed diagnostic scheme has been tested by simulation on the two-tank system.

Improving English communicative competence through individualized WBI (WBI 수준별 수업을 통한 영어 의사소통능력 향상 방안)

  • The purpose of this study is to increase students' interest in the subject of English, which has been led by some mannerism, and to improve the students' basic scholastic ability and self-controlled problem solving, through adopting an individualized Web Based Instruction(WBI) as a concrete and practical learning method. In order to achieve this, an individualized Web Based Instruction(WBI) homepage has been developed to be applied experimentally to the field of middle school education for 8 months, and a research has been made on its effects on the students' interest in English along with the improvement of English. Two groups which showed almost the same interest were selected as a controlled group and an experimental one. Individualized Web Based Instruction was applied to the experimental group, while the controlled group was not instructed according to student ability. The controlled group was taught using CD added with the textbook. As a result of T-test, the students in the experimental group showed more improvement in communicative competence than those in the controlled group.
