  • This study investigates the influence of self-efficacy in purchasing clothes in the consumer satisfaction formation process. A survey was conducted on 300 adults living in the Seoul and Gyeonggi area and 231 completed questionnaires were used for analysis. The survey questionnaires measured the respondent's self-efficacy in purchasing clothes, expectation, perceived performance, expectation confirmation, and satisfaction level. The data were analyzed by moderated regression analysis. The results are as follows. First, for apparel products, perceived performance, and expectation confirmation have a direct effect on consumer satisfaction, while expectation has no direct effect on consumer satisfaction. This finding agrees with the results reported in a previous study on consumer goods with low ambiguity in assessing products and services including sneakers, underwear, cereals, and financial services. Second, the lower the self-efficacy in purchasing clothes, then the increased effect of the expectation confirmation that influences consumer satisfaction. However, the self-efficacy in purchasing clothes did not show any moderating effect on the perceived performance affecting the consumer satisfaction. The self-efficacy in purchasing clothes seems to have a moderating effect on the consumer satisfaction formation process by affecting the ambiguity in pre-purchase product assessment and not in post-purchase product evaluation.

  • Purpose: This study aimed to examine the moderating effect of organizational justice on the relationship between self-efficacy and nursing performance among clinical nurses. Methods: In January 2021, a cross-sectional survey was conducted with 224 clinical nurses recruited from a university-affiliated hospital in Suwon, South Korea. Participants completed online-based, self-report structured questionnaires. Collected data were analyzed using multiple regression and a simple model of PROCESS macro with a 95% bias-corrected bootstrap confidence interval. Results: Self-efficacy and organizational justice were found to be significant predictors of nursing performance. These two predictors explained the additional 34.8% variance of nursing performance in the hierarchical regression model, after adjusting the other covariates. In addition, organizational justice moderated the relationship between self-efficacy and nursing performance among the clinical nurses. In particular, at low self-efficacy level, participants with high organizational justice had higher nursing performance compared to those with low organizational justice. Conclusion: Enhancing organizational justice can be used as an organizational strategy for improving the organizational culture in terms of distribution, procedure, and interaction. Ultimately, these efforts will contribute to the improvement of nursing performance through a synergistic effect on organizational justice beyond nurses' individual competency and self-efficacy.

  • Essential hypertension, one of the leading primary cause of death in Korea, is a typical chronic disease requiring adequate and continuous management. Though these hypertensives need to maintain desirable health practice by themselves for their life time, many previous studies indicated that most of the essential hypertensives have no specific symptoms and thus, reluctant to follow appropriate medical regimens causing the condition further aggravated and complicated. Thus the comprehensive self-regulation program was conducted as a nursing intervention on the promotion self-care 'performance and improvement in physical parameters of hypertensives. For this purpose, a one group quasi -experimental research with pre and post test design was used. And the whole program was carried out from October, 1993 to February, 1994. Self-regulation program was consisted with group education on hypertension and self-care, self-regulation including the blood pressure self-monitoring and recording, recording of daily self-care activities, and encouraging and reinforcing self-efficacy through verbal persuation and enactive attainment. The subjects were asked to measure their own blood pressure by themselves twice per day and to record blood pressure and the daily self-care performance according to the instructions provided during the whole period of 9 weeks. The data was analyzed by experimental stages: the first week, the fifth week, and the ninth week since the experimental imput began. Data were analyzed by the SPSS PC+ program with paired t -test and F-test, and multiple correlation to determine the variables affecting the effect of program. The results were as follows : 1) Subjects in J company were significantly lower diastolic blood pressure than K company after the program (t=2.39, p=.024). Level of cholesterol was significant difference according to position(t=2.23, p=.034), family history (t=-2.66, p=.013), diagnosis duration, and career(t=2.88, p=.055). Perceived self-efficacy was more significantly increased among the group with family history(t=-3.00, p=.013). 2) Before the program, there were significant positive correlation among the variables: internal-LOC and self-efficacy(r=.3952, p=.015), external-LOC and barriers (r=.6515, p=.000), chance-LOC and Barriers(r=.4133, p=.012). However there were significant negative correlation between internal-LOC and barriers (r=-.3236, p=.041, external-LOC and self -efficacy(r=-.3517, p=.028), self-efficacy and barriers(r=-.6654, p=.000). 3) There were significant relationships between changes in self - care performance and self-efficacy at 5th week (r=.5313, p=.001) and changes in self-efficacy at 9th week(r=.4586, p=.005). 4) After the program, internal health locus of control and perceived benefits showed significant correlation(r=.5673, p=.001, but perceived barriers was negative correlation with perceived self-efficacy (t=-4242, p=.01). From the above results, it can be concluded that the self-regulation program is an effective nursing strategy through the change of variables to promote self-care performance of hypertensives and to increase the self-efficacy. Thus this program can be recommended in the management of the hypertensives in workplaces and community settings.

  • The structural equation modeling techniques were used to assess a model of chemistry learning strategy based on self-handicapping tendency and goal orientation. Data were collected during chemistry lessons in two high schools. In the optimal model II-2 of this research, the self-handicapping tendency was negatively related to the use of self-efficacy. The learning goal was positively related to the use of self-efficacy and to learning strategy. The performance- approach goal was positively related to self-efficacy but presented an negative relationship to learning strategy. The performance-avoidance goal was negatively related to self-efficacy but presented an positive relationship to learning strategy. Besides affecting the learning strategy through self-efficacy indirectly, the learning goal, performance-approach goal, and performance-avoidance goal affected learning strategy directly. The self-handicapping tendency and performance- avoidance goal were a negative predictors of self-efficacy, but the learning goal and performance-approach goal were a positive predictors. And the self-efficacy affected learning strategy positively. The implications of these findings for learning strategy in chemistry are discussed. Although the paths model of relationships of the motivations to learn and learning strategies in chemistry education as mentioned above is established, the more systematic search for the higher self-efficacy and learning strategy in different courses and curriculums may be needed.

  • The major purpose of this study is to examine how the perfectionism of dance majors affect self-efficacy and performance satisfaction. The sampling of this study was done in 2009, by using purposive sampling method with the subjects who are currently the students of an arts high school and dance majors of a college in Daejeon and Chungcheongnam-do. Specifically, by dividing the district in Chungnam and Daejeon, one arts high school and one college were selected from each district, and 75 dance majors from 4 schools respectively, total 300 students were examined for the study. Among these 300 students, the number of students' questionnaires used in the final analysis is 274, excluding the questionnaires containing inadequate answers. The adequacy of the questionnaire was verified by factor analysis, and the reliability of the questionnaire by reliability analysis. In the matter of reliability, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ turned up to be over .602. In this study, factor analysis, reliability analysis, regression analysis, and course analysis were done by using SPSS16.0. With the above research method and results, I could come to a conclusion as following. Above all, perfectionism affects the subordinate variable of self-efficacy, the self-control efficacy. That is, with the higher self-oriented perfectionism and the other-oriented perfectionism, self-efficacy increases more as well. Secondly, perfectionism affects performance satisfaction. In other words, the higher self-oriented perfectionism, the higher performance satisfaction. Thirdly, self-efficacy affects performance satisfaction. That is, higher self-control efficacy makes the performance satisfaction higher. Lastly, perfectionism affects self-efficacy and performance satisfaction either directly or indirectly. Now it is obvious that self-efficacy is the variable that intermediate performance satisfaction.
