Predictive Factors of Self-control in Contactless Online Learners' Self-determination Motivation: Mediated effect of self-efficacy

  • This study aims to provide basic data on establishing online learning by identifying the effects of self-efficacy as a medium on factors affecting self-control according to self-determination motivation through contactless online learning due to Covid-19. The research method used SPSS 25 and Sobel test to examine the causal relationship between the spokesmen and 196 middle and high school students in W-city, Gangwon-do. Self-determination motivation has had a significant effect on self-efficacy and self-control, and self-efficacy has been shown to have a significant effect on self-control. Also, Self-efficacy had a partial mediating effect on self-determination motivation affecting self-control. Based on this, fundamental and continuous development of online education programs to promote self-control of online learners is required, and efforts should be made to support learners' capabilities through psychological counseling.

대학생이 지각한 부모통제가 진로성숙도에 미치는 영향: 자기결정성과 자기효능감의 다중매개효과를 중심으로 (The Effects of Parental Control Perceived by College Students on Career Maturity: Focusing on Multiple Mediating Effects of Self-Determination and Self-Efficacy)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine that multiple mediating effects of self-determination and self-efficacy in the relationship between the parental control and career maturity. In the study, 747 university students in Daegu, Busan and Seoul area were surveyed on their perceived level of parental control, career maturity, self-determination and self-efficacy. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, one-way ANOVA, and Pearson correlation analysis with SPSS 25.0 program, Hayes'Process Macro program and bootstrapping. The major results of this study were as follows; First, there were significant differences in college student's career maturity by grade, major, experience in career-related services and part-time job experience period. Second, there were significant correlations between parental control(behavioral control and psychological control), career maturity, self-determination and self-efficacy. Third, self-determination and Self-efficacy had multiple mediating effects in the relationship between parental control and career maturity. In conclusion, this study found multiple mediating effects of self-determination and self-efficacy in the relationship between parental control(behavioral control and psychological control) and career maturity. It was also found that parental behavioral control had a positive effect on career maturity by increasing self-determination and self-efficacy while parental psychological control had a negative effect on career maturity by decreasing self-determination and self-efficacy.

학령기 아동의 자기조절능력과 관련변인들 간의 관계 구조분석 (A Structural Analysis on School-Aged Children's Self-Regulation Competence and Its Related Variables)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the structural relationships between of school-aged children's self-regulation competence, self-determination, self-efficacy, and mother's acceptive parenting. The subjects for this study were 544 Children in 5th and 6th grade randomly selected from three elementary schools located in Ulsan-city. The collected data were analyzed with AMOS 19.0. The results showed that 1) children's self-determination and self-efficacy were found to affect children's self-regulation competence directly. 2) children's self-efficacy were found to have indirect effect on children's self-regulation competence mediated by children's self-determination. 3) mother's acceptive parenting were found to have indirect effect on children's self-regulation competence mediated by children's self-efficacy or children's self-determination.

일부 지역 치위생(학)과 학생들의 자기결정성이 수업참여에 미치는 영향: 교육자의 피드백 유형의 매개효과를 중심으로 (The effect of some local dental hygiene and students' self-determination on class participation: Focusing on the mediating effect of educators' feedback types)

  • Objectives: This study was conducted to understand the effect of learners' self-determination on class participation, focusing on the feedback type of educators. Methods: A survey was conducted from May 1 to May 31 2021 on dental hygiene students, and a total of 151 valid responses were analyzed. The questionnaire consisted of general characteristics, self-determination, class participation, and educator's feedback type. The analysis method used correlation analysis and hierarchical regression analysis. Results: In relation to self-determination, class participation, and feedback type of educators, self-determination was positive feedback (r=0.338, p<0.01), class participation was corrective feedback (r=0.418, p<0.01), and positive feedback was correction (r=0.742, p<0.01). As a result of the mediating effect of the educator's feedback type in the relationship between self-determination and class participation, it was found to be significant by partially mediating positive and corrective feedback. Conclusions: It was found that the right to self-determination influences class participation based on positive feedback and corrective feedback of educators. It relates to efforts to strengthen learners' self-determination and provide appropriate types of feedback from educators.

간호대학생의 자기결정성이 자기주도학습능력에 미치는 영향: 학업적 자기효능감의 매개효과를 중심으로 (Mediation Effects of Academic Self-efficacy on the Relationship between Self-determination and Self-directed Learning in Nursing Students)

  • Objectives: This study aimed to confirm the association between self-determination and self-directed learning among Korean nursing students, as well as the mediating effect of academic self-efficacy. Methods: Data from 139 nurse students were surveyed in this descriptive cross-sectional study. They were collected from Oct 1 to 30, 2020, using self-report questionnaires. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way analysis of variance, Scheffé test, Pearson's correlation coefficient analysis, and mediated model for PROCESS macro using the SPSS/WIN 24.0. Results: Self-directed learning was positively associated with self-determination (r=.56, p<.001) and academic self-efficacy (r=.63, p<.001). Furthermore, academic self-efficacy had a mediating effect on the relationship between self-determination and self-directed learning (B=0.21, 95% CI=0.12~0.32). Conclusion: The impact of self-determination on the self-directed learning among nursing students was mediated by academic self-efficacy. Therefore, these results provide important data for future self-directed learning in nursing education.

Effects of CEO's Self-Determination on Start-up Entrepreneurship and Business Performance in Service and Distribution SMEs

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of CEO's self-determination on entrepreneurship, business performance (operational and financial performance). Also, this research provide some strategic insights for improving business performance. In the proposed model, self-determination consists of autonomy, competence, and relatedness, and entrepreneurship consists of innovation, initiative and risk sensitivity, and proactiveness. More specifically, this study proposes a framework that entrepreneurship and operational performance will play mediating roles between self-determination and financial performance. Research design, data, methodology: In this study, an online survey was conducted on SME CEOs for analysis, and a total of 122 samples were used. In the analysis process for hypothesis verification and evaluation, frequency analysis was first performed to identify the demographic characteristics of the respondents, and confirmatory factor analysis was conducted to assess the reliability and validity of the measurement model. In addition, a structural model analysis was conducted to examine the structural relationships between CEO's self-determination, entrepreneurship, and business performance (operational and financial performance) using SmartPLS 3.0. Results: The findings and summary are as follows. First, the autonomy of self-determination has a positive effect on entrepreneurship. Second, the competence of self-determination affects entrepreneurship and operational performance. Third, it affects the innovation, initiative and risk sensitivity of the CEO's entrepreneurship, and ultimately, its operational performance. The results show that the business performance of Start-up also increases when self-determination can be a factor in increasing entrepreneurship in three sub-dimensionalities. Conclusions: The conclusion of this study is that in order for SMEs to develop into a sustainable company by securing competitiveness after start-up, external motivation such as external help and support from the state (local government) is important, but competence and relationship, which are components of self-determination. The intrinsic motivation of the CEO may be more important. To this end, CEO's should prioritize learning for competency development, and the government should pay attention to providing various educational programs through establishment of education policies and education systems to enhance the competency of start-up CEO's.

의료소비자의 비급여 진료에 대한 자기결정권 행사와 관련 요인 (Factors Associated with the Exercise of Right to Self-determination about non-benefit Medical Services)

  • Purposes: This study was to investigate intention to exercise the patient's right of self-determination on adopting the non-benefit medical services and was to identify factors associated with intention to self-determined decision. Methodology: A total of 1,000 adult respondents aged 20 to 65 years were recruited using stratified random sampling and surveyed by online. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was performed to identify factors associated with intention to self-determined decision using SAS 9.4(SAS Institute Inc. Cary, NC, USA). Findings: 61.9% of total participants(n=592) had intention to exercise patient's right of self-determination on adopting the non-benefit medical services. Significant differences were observed in the exercise of self-determination in relation to prior explanation and opportunity for self-determination. Practical Implications: This study suggested that explanation duty of provider might influence on increasing intention to exercise the patient's right of self-determination. Considering appropriate use of non-benefit services, it is important to enhance explanation duty of provider.

유아의 자기 결정력에 영향을 미치는 요인 :유아의 놀이성, 자아존중감, 자기조절력을 중심으로 (Determinants of Preschoolers' Self-determination: Focus on their Playfulness, Self-esteem, and Self-regulation)

  • 본 연구는 유아의 자기결정력에 영향을 미치는 주요 변인들의 상대적 영향력을 규명하는데 연구의 목적을 두었다. 유아의 자기결정력에 관련된 주요 변인으로 자율성을 공통적으로 포함하고 있는 자아존중감, 놀이성 및 자기조절력으로 구성하였으며, 특히 유아의 자아존중감이 유아의 놀이성과 자기결정력간의 관계에서 매개역할을 수행하는 가를 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 만4,5세 유아 126명을 대상으로 유아의 자기결정력, 자기조절력은 교사가 관찰한 경험을 근거로 설문하였으며, 자아존중감은 담임교사가 유아에게 직접 질문하여 평정하였고, 유아의 놀이성은 연구자에 의해 현장 관찰을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 주요 결과를 살펴보면, 유아의 자기결정력에 영향을 미치는 변인들의 영향력은 유아의 자아존중감, 놀이성, 자기조절의 순으로 나타났으며, 유아의 자아존중감은 유아의 놀이성과 자기결정력 사이에서 매개적 역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다.

어머니의 놀이신념이 유아의 자기결정력에 미치는 영향: 놀이시간의 매개역할 (Effects of Mothers' Play Belief on Self-determination of Young Children: The Mediating Role of Children's Play Time)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of mothers'play belief and their children's playtime on self-determination of young children. Methods: Participants of this study were 239 mothers of 6-year-old children attending childcare centers. An online self-report survey method was implemented to investigate whether mothers appreciate the contribution of play on their children's development, if mothers allow their children's playtime, and to examine the level of self-determination of their children. SPSS 22.0 was conducted for descriptive statistics and AMOS 21.0 was used for the path analysis to investigate the hypothetical relationship among variables. Results: Mothers' play support belief had a direct influence on their children's self-determination, while young children's playtime that was also affected by their mothers' play support belief had an indirect effect on their self-determination. Conclusion/Implications: The research shows that children's self-determination can be fostered by providing time to play when they can make decisions and demonstrate goal directed behaviors, and by providing an atmosphere that emphasizes the importance of playing in one's childhood.

장애청소년의 자기결정 경험에 대한 질적 연구 (A Qualitative Study on the Self-determination Experience of Youth with Disabilities)

  • 이 연구는 장애청소년의 자기결정 경험에 대한 실체이론 개발을 목적으로 하였다. 이 연구목적을 달성하기 위해 20대 초반의 지체 뇌병변 장애 대학생 10명과 면접을 실시하였으며 근거이론을 사용하여 그 결과를 분석하였다. 분석결과, 107개의 개념과 39개의 하위범주 및 16개의 범주가 도출되었으며, 장애청소년의 자기결정 경험의 중심현상은 "장애를 딛고 자기실현 열망"하기였다. 자기결정은 "욕구와 장애물의 인식", "문제해결", "성장 인식"의 단계를 거쳐 가는 과정이었으며, 자기결정의 유형은 "돌파형", "다전략형", "온건형", "수용형"으로 구분되었다. 이 연구를 통해 청소년기 장애인 자기결정의 특수성을 심도 있게 이해할 수 있었으며, 장애청소년의 자기결정을 증진시키기 위한 방법으로 제도적 보완, 유형에 따른 지원 차별화, 합리적 전략의 교육, 성과 결혼 주제의 공론화가 필요함을 알 수 있었다.
