  • Interest in self-driving vehicle research has been rapidly increasing, and related research has been continuously conducted. In such a fast-paced self-driving vehicle research area, the development of advanced technology for better convenience safety, and efficiency in road and transportation systems is expected. Here, we investigate research in self-driving vehicles and analyze the main technologies of driverless car software, including: technical aspects of autonomous vehicles, traffic infrastructure and its communications, research techniques with vision recognition, deep leaning algorithms, localization methods, existing problems, and future development directions. First, we introduce intelligent self-driving car and road infrastructure algorithms such as machine learning, image processing methods, and localizations. Second, we examine the intelligent technologies used in self-driving car projects, autonomous vehicles equipped with multiple sensors, and interactions with transport infrastructure. Finally, we highlight the future direction and challenges of self-driving vehicle transportation systems.

  • The compressive strength of self-compacting concrete (SCC) containing fly ash (FA) is highly related to its constituents. The principal purpose of this paper is to investigate the efficiency of hybrid fuzzy radial basis function neural network with biogeography-based optimization (FRBFNN-BBO) for predicting the compressive strength of SCC containing FA based on its mix design i.e., cement, fly ash, water, fine aggregate, coarse aggregate, superplasticizer, and age. In this regard, biogeography-based optimization (BBO) is applied for the optimal design of fuzzy radial basis function neural network (FRBFNN) and the proposed model, implemented in a MATLAB environment, is constructed, trained and tested using 338 available sets of data obtained from 24 different published literature sources. Moreover, the artificial neural network and three types of radial basis function neural network models are applied to compare the efficiency of the proposed model. The statistical analysis results strongly showed that the proposed FRBFNN-BBO model has good performance in desirable accuracy for predicting the compressive strength of SCC with fly ash.

  • In order to decommission the shielding concrete of KRR(Korea Research Reactor) -1&2, it must be exactly determined activated level and range by neutron irradiation during operation. To determine the activated level and range, it must be sampled and analyzed the core sample. But, there are difficulties in sample preparation and determination of the measurement efficiency by self-absorption. In the study, the full energy efficiency of the HPGe detector was compared with the measured value using standard source and the calculated one using Monte Carlo simulation. Also. self-absorption effects due to the density and component change of the concrete were calculated using the Monte Carlo method. Its results will be used radioactivity analysis of the real concrete core sample in the future.

  • Objectives : This study was to infectify variable the factors influencing oral health behaviors in high school students. Methods : Data were collected from 241 high school students Busan and Kyungnam Province for four weeks in July 2012. The SPSS 18.0 program was used for data analysis, which included t-test, correlation analysis, multiple logistic regression analysis. Results : Positive correlation in the order of social support(r=.381), self-efficiency(r=.309) with perceived benefit of oral health behavior and social support with total heal index(r=.298) are shown. In the contrary, the relation between social support(r=-.400), subjective oral health status(r=-.222) with impairments of oral health behavior have negative one. Experience in three or more tooth brushing has an effect on social support and subjective oral health status(p<.05). Perceived benefit(p<.001) of oral health life and subjective oral health status(p<.05) are affected by recognition of correct tooth brushing. Intake of harmful food on tooth has an effects on perceived benefit, self-efficiency, total health index and subjective oral health status(p<.05). Conclusions : In conclusion, systematic activation of oral health education in school and correct self-activity of oral health will promote oral health of youth.

  • This paper proposes the self-powered solar tracker system without CPU. Conventional solar tracker system occurs the problem of cost and durability because of using CPU. In addition, this system has effects from installation site and environment. The proposed solar tracker system without CPU is possible to achieve the high efficiency because it tracks the maximum of the light source. The validity of proposed solar tracking system is verified with experiment results.

  • OFDM System is a promising transmission technique due to its spectral efficiency But, a major disadvantage of the OFDM system is its sensitivity to frequency offset and phase noise that makes intercarrier interference (ICI), which degrades the system performance severely The ICI self-cancellation method has a good performance with frequency offset or phase noise. This paper proposed the N/2 spacing data-conjugate method that works well in large frequency offset and phase noise (normalized frequency offset=0.2-0.4, phase noise standard deviation=about lodes). Also, an efficiency ICI cancellation method using pilot was proposed. Simulation results confirm that performance of the proposed scheme is better than conventional schemes.

  • In this work, self-absorption correction factor related to the variation of the composition and the density of soil samples were evaluated using the p-type HPGe detector. The validated MCNP5 simulation model of this detector was used to evaluate its Full Energy Peak Efficiency (FEPE) under the variation of the composition and the density of the analysed samples. The results indicates that FEPE calculation of low gamma ray is affected by the composition and the density of soil samples. The self-absorption correction factors for different gamma-ray energies which was fitted as a function of FEPEs via density and energy and fitting parameters as polynomial function for the logarithm neper of gamma ray energy help to calculate quickly the detection efficiency of detector. Factor Analysis for the influence of the element composition in analysed samples on the FEPE indicates the FEPE distribution changes from non-metal to metal groups when the gamma ray energy increases from 92 keV to 238 keV. At energies above 238 keV, the FEPE primarily depends only on the metal elements and is significantly affected by aluminium and silicon composition in soil samples.

  • This study concentrates on the exploratory study about self-leadership securing autonomy and self-determination of the job performance for the employees of social welfare facilities like that the members set the goal of their jobs and solve the problems by themselves without exterior one-way interruption and control. For this purpose, this study set up the analysis model and hypothesis that the efficiency of the members' job performance can be promoted since the increasing self-leadership(behavior-focused strategies, natural-reward strategies, contractive thought pattern strategies) of the employees of social welfare facilities has a positive effect on empowerment and job satisfaction. Therefore, this study has significance in the aspect that it provides political suggestion for promoting the efficiency of human resource management by investigating the relationship between self-leadership and empowerment and job satisfaction through empirical analysis.

  • In this study, self-healable waterborne polyurethane (SH-WPU) as shoes and coating materials with self-healable disulfide functionalities was synthesized by mixing polyether polyol to impart excellent durability and heat resistance and polycarbonate polyol to impart excellent mechanical properties. The synthesized SH-WPU was characterized by fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), and physical and self-healing properties were confirmed through universal testing machine (UTM) and scanning electron microscope (SEM) measurements. Tensile strength and hardness were increased and elongation was decreased by using polycarbonate polyol. In addition, as a result of comparison of thermal properties, thermal stability has been increased as the content of polycarbonate polyol increased. The healing efficiency showed the highest efficiency when poly(tetramethylene ether)glycol : polycarbonate polyol = 0.75 : 0.25, and it was confirmed that the damaged part was healed through surface observation using a microscope and SEM.

  • Self-absorption is the most important factor affecting the accuracy of gamma spectroscopy measurements in environmental samples. In particular, it is affected by other factors such as the chemical composition of the sample, geometric shape, thickness, density, atomic number, distance between the sample and detector, energy of the emitted gamma photon, and humidity coefficient or percentage in the sample. To test the calibration method, a 450 ml CRM standard source (9 nuclide) Marinelli beaker was used. Five soil samples among environmental samples were measured by density by applying the corrected values. Therefore, it can be seen that the self-absorption value is more effective for somewhat large and low photon energy. In the case of environmental samples, it was confirmed that the overall energy peak efficiency through self-absorption of the source greatly depends on the density of the sample.
