  • The corona interference of extra high voltage (EHV) transmission lines has to be considered as an important design factor for establishing an electrical environmental countermeasure at a basic line design stage. This paper describes the conductor selection procedure through both corona performance test result in corona cage and its evaluation by the design criterion. It is known that three conductor configurations including $6{\times}810mm^2$ (spacing: 40 cm) are the suitable conductor bundle for the environmental preservation around both 2-circuits and 1-circuit T/L.

  • This paper presents an algorithm for optimal reactive power dispatch problem based on Improved Genetic Algorithm(IGA). Optimal Reactive Power Dispatch (ORPD) is particularized to the minimization of transmission line losses by suitable selection of generator reactive power outputs and transformer tap setting. For the objective, in this paper, Loss Re-Distribution Algorithm(LRDA) is new applied to the equality constraint of ORPD. The proposed method has been evaluated on the IEEE 30 bus system. Results of the application of the method are compared with a base case.

  • For the characterization of arbitrary shaped printed circuit board, lossy transmission line grid model based on SPICE netlist and analytical plane model based on the segmentation method are proposed in this paper. Two methods are compared with an arbitrary shaped power/ground plane. Furthermore, design considerations for the complete power distribution network structure are discussed to ensure the maximum value of the PDN impedance is low enough across the desired frequency range and to guide decoupling capacitor selection.

  • In this paper, we propose a zone based ad hoc network construction scheme which support ad hoc path between nodes in local IoT networks consisting of IoT devices with the constrained feature, such as low power, the limited transmission rate and low computing capacity. Recently, the various routing protocols have been studied to support ad hoc networking of local IoT environments. This is, because basis RPL protocol is deigned to be used for the connecting service with Internet through gateway, ad hoc path between nodes in local IoT networks is not supported in basis RPL protocol. Thus, in this paper, the proposed routing scheme provides both ad hoc path and Infra path through gateway, supporting basis RPL protocol simultaneously. Through simulation, we show that the proposed routing scheme with zone based path selection scheme improves the performance of the success rate of end-to-end data transmission and the end-to-end delay, compared to basis RPL protocol.

  • This paper investigates a distinct set of complex unitary matrices for QPSK differential space time coding. After properly selecting the initial transmission matrix and unitary matrices we find that the different combinations of them could lead different BER performance over slow/fast Rayleigh fading channels and antennas correlated channels. The numerical results show that the proper selection of the initial transmission matrix and the set of unitary matrices can efficiently improve the bit error rate performance, especially for the antennas correlated fading channel. The computer simulations are evaluated over slow and fast Rayleigh fading channels.

  • As the power demand has been increasing, a fault current problem is becoming more serious in real power system. Various ways like bus-split operation, transmission line open operation, are used in Korean power system for solving the problem. In this time, superconducting FCL(Fault Current Limiter) has been developed as a vary attractive alternative since HTS(High Temperature Superconductivity) was discovered. Korea, a project developing superconducting FCL to apply to 154kV transmission system is proceeding. Therefore, a power system analysis for SFCL application to power system is necessary, This paper presents the determination of quenching resistance and the selection of optimal cites when 154kV HTS-FCL is applied to Korean power system.

  • The paradigm of mobile communication technology has changed from an increase in transmission capacity to service-based technologies satisfying various types of service requirements. One of the new paradigms is a service that provides users with a QoE (Quality Of Experience (QoE), at anytime and anywhere. 5G defines various technologies such as dense network structures and beam selection for increasing the transmission capacity and ensuring the quality of experience so as to satisfy this requirement, and related research is underway. In this paper, we describe the definition of a 5G small cell and 5G network structure as well as research trends of standardization and related technologies for constructing optimal solutions for mobile users in dense networks based on small cells.

  • We propose an adaptive cooperative scheme with a multi-relay node that achieves high bandwidth efficiency and achieves better SEP performance. In the proposed protocol, if the quality of the direct channel is better than that of the all channels from relays to destination, the source will transmit directly to the destination. Otherwise, the source broadcasts the signal and then a potential relay will be chosen to help the source. A re-transmission will also occur if the potential relay cannot be detected. The spectral efficiency is first derived by calculating the probability of each mode, i.e., direct and cooperation transmission. Subsequently, the SEP performance of M-PSK modulation for the scheme is analyzed by considering each event where the source transmits data to the destination. Finally, the obtained analytical results are verified through computer simulations.

  • Establishment of an efficient routing technique in multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) based mobile ad hoc network (MANET) is a new challenge in wireless communication system to communicate in a complex terrain where permanent infrastructure network implementation is not possible. Due to limited power of mobile nodes, a minimum power consumed routing (MPCR) algorithm is developed which is an integration of cooperative transmission process. This algorithm select relay node and support short distance communication. The performance analysis of proposed routing algorithm increased signal to noise interference ratio (SNIR) resulting effect of cooperative transmission. Finally performance analysis of the proposed algorithm is verified with simulated result.
