  • Since existing Nate-on Messenger application stores users' personal information in the database of its server, it is extremely venerable to internal threats, not to mention the communication data being transmitted without any safety measures. To solve such problematic areas of the existing application, we have developed a safer messenger application. The messenger application proposed in this paper discloses only the least required personal information of its users and the rest of the personal information is safely encrypted in the database using private passwords. This protective measure prevents the administrator or a third party from misusing the information since he/she will not be able access the information. In addition, users will be able to freely and safely communicate using this new messenger since transmitted data will also be encrypted.

  • A backcalculation procedure to determine the layer moduli of flexible pavement structure is developed using matrix solution technique. Forward calculation computer program adopted in this backcalculation procedure is SINELA which is one of layered elastic computer programs. Data base system is used as a tool for setting initial seed moduli and depth to virtual bedrock in backcalculation procedure. The validity and applicability of the proposed backcalculation procedure are verified through various numerical model tests. From the results of comparison analysis with FPEDD1, it is found that the proposed procedure gives more efficient and accurate results.

  • While it is presumed that substorm injection electrons of a few hundred keV are the seeds for relativistic electrons frequently observed during the recovery phase of storms, correlation between the two events has not been well explored with the observed satellite data. We would like to address this problem in the present paper using the data from the geosynchronous GOES and LANL satellites as well as from the polar orbiting NOAA satellites. Our statistical study shows the two channels of LANL SOPA instrument, 105 150 keV and 150 225 keV, best correlates with the increase of the flux levels of GOES relativistic electrons. Especially, the relativistic electron events are not observed when the flux levels of these two channels are maintained low in the substorm injections, regardless of the level of the ULF activities. The conclusion does not change whether the substorm injections occur . during the storm recovery phase or during the non-storm time. As the ULF waves are observed quite frequently over the entire range of L=4 to L=7, the reason why REEs are seen mostly during the storm time seems to be related to the fact that storm-time substorms produce more seed electrons than the substorms that occur during the non-storm time.

  • This paper presents a novel framework for analysis of power system wide-area blackout based on so called fault cascading scenarios. For a given power system operating state, "triggering" faults or a "seed faults" are chosen based on the probabilities estimated from the hazard rates. The fault probabilities reflect both the load and the weather conditions. Effects of hidden failures in protection systems are also reflected in establishing the fault propagation scenarios since they are one of the major causes for the wide-area blackouts. A tree type data structure called a PS-BEST(Power System Blackout Event Scenario Tree) is proposed for construction of the fault cascading scenarios, in which nodes represent various power system operating states and the arcs are the events causing transitions between the states. Arcs can be either probabilistic or deterministic. For a given initial fault, the total probability of leading to wide-area blackout is estimated by aggregating the individual probability of each fault sequence route leading to wide-area blackout. A case study is performed on the IEEE RTS-79(24 bus) system based on the fault data presented by the North American Electrical Reliability Council(NERC). Test results demonstrate the potentials and the effectiveness of the proposed technique for the future wide-area blackout analysis.

  • Many research results have indicated that many kinds of useful ingredients are rich in buckwheat, which have high nutritional values and medicinal properties, so, buckwheat has been cultivated around Asia and Europe. In this paper, genetic diversity of common and tartary buckwheat germplasms were studied based on morphological and molecular markers in order to provide useful information for conservation and utilization of buckwheat genetic resources. The length, width, thick, value and weight of the seed of the common and tartary buckwheat were measured and analyzed by the statistics methods. The result has shown that there are morphological variation both in common buckwheat and tartary buckwheat seeds collected from different regions. It also has shown that the morphological variation of tartary seeds was significantly correlated to geographical regions. The nuclear ribosomal internal transcribed spacers (ITS) of the tartary buckwheat collected from different countries were cloned, sequenced and statistically analyzed. The data showed that ITS sequences were informative to analyze the phylogeny of the tartary buckwheat and the data also showed that the genetic distances varied among different tartary buckwheat seeds collected from different countries.

  • This paper proposes the wavelet image coding using the significant cluster extraction by morphology and the adaptive quantization. In the conventional MRWD method, the additional seed data takes large potion of the total data bits. The proposed method extracts the significant cluster using morphology to improve the coding efficiency. In addition, the adaptive quantization is proposed to reduce the number of redundant comparative operations which are indispensably occurred in the MRWD quantization. The experimental result shows that the proposed algorithm has the improved coding efficiency and computational cost while preserving superior PSNR

  • Occupational use of cleaning products can cause asthma in healthcare workers but the cleaning agents responsible are not yet known. This study aimed to identify respiratory and other hazards in cleaning products on the National Health Service (NHS) supply chain online catalogue and used in the NHS. Information on cleaning products, their composition, and H-statements that identified hazard characteristics of chemical substances in them was obtained from chemical safety data sheets (SDSs). Furthermore, a quantitative structure-activity relationship model and a published asthmagen list were used to identify potential additional respiratory hazards. 473 cleaning products and 229 substances were identified. SDSs reported only 4 respiratory sensitizers but an additional 51 were suggested by the other 2 methods. In contrast, 25 respiratory irritants were identified using SDSs and only one from the asthmagen list. This comprehensive overview of cleaning agents' hazards has potential use in future risk assessment and epidemiological studies.

  • This paper proposes new Steganographic model for VoIP that has very effective method using low bit encoding. Most of Steganographic models using Low bit Encoding have two disadvantages; one is that the existence of hidden secret message can be easily detected by auditory, the other is that the capacity of stego data is low. To solve these problems, this method embed more than one bit in inaudible range, so this method can improve the capacity of the hidden message in cover data. The embedding bit position is determined by using a pseudo random number generator which has seed with remaining message length, so it is hard to detect the stego data produced by the proposed method. This proposed model is able to use not only to communicate wave file with hidden message in VoIP environment but also to hide vary information which is user basic information, authentication system, etc.

  • In many scientific and commercial applications such as Earth Observation System (EOSDIS) and mobile Phone services tracking a large number of clients, it is a daunting task to archive and index ever increasing volume of complex data that are continuously added to databases. To efficiently manage multidimensional data in scientific and data warehousing environments, R-tree based index structures have been widely used. In this paper, we propose a scalable technique called seeded clustering that allows us to maintain R-tree indexes by bulk insertion while keeping pace with high data arrival rates. Our approach uses a seed tree, which is copied from the top k levels of a target R-tree, to classify input data objects into clusters. We then build an R-tree for each of the clusters and insert the input R-trees into the target R-tree in bulk one at a time. We present detailed algorithms for the seeded clustering and bulk insertion as well as the results from our extensive experimental study. The experimental results show that the bulk insertion by seeded clustering outperforms the previously known methods in terms of insertion cost and the quality of target R-trees measured by their query performance.

  • Rearing of tropical tasar silkworm, Antheraea mylitta Drury is mainly conducted in outdoor on Terminalia tomentosa W. & A. a nature grown primary host plant available in forest and also on raised primary host plant Terminalia arjuna Bedd. Temperature, relative humidity and rainfall are the main environmental factors for occurrence of pests (parasites and predators) of tasar silkworm during I, II and III crop rearing in the tropical tasar producing zones. The present study was aimed to study the influence of abiotic factors on prevalence of tasar silkworm pests. The study was conducted at different agro-climatic regions viz., Central Tasar Research &Training Institute, Ranchi, Jharkhand, Regional Extension Centre, Katghora, Chattisgarh and Regional Extension Centre, Hatgamaria during 2010-13 covering 3 seed crop and 6 commercial crops. Data on incidence of tropical tasar silkworm endo-parasitoids like Uzi Fly, Blepharipa zebina Walker and Ichneumon fly (Yellow Fly), Xathopimpla pedator, Fabricius and Predators such as Stink bug (Eocanthecona furcellata Wolf), Reduviid bug (Sycanus collaris Fabricius) and Wasp (Vespa orientalis Linnaeus) was recorded Weekly. The meteorological data was collected daily. Data was collected from 4 different agro-climatic zones of tasar growing areas. Analysis of the data revealed a significant negative correlation between abiotic factors and incidence of ichneumon fly and uzi fly. Based on the 3 years data on prevalence of pests region-wise pest calendars and prediction models were developed.
