고속어선의 운동성능 개선장치 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of Sea-Keeping Performance Improving Device for High Speed Fishing Vessel)

  • In spite of many efforts, in the design of high speed fishing vessel the sea-keeping performance improvement without neglection of resistance-propulsion performance by hull form itself has its limitations. In this paper, the development of sea-keeping improving appendage pitching and trim improver for high speed planing hull on behalf of the hull form of fishing vessel has been introduced. The developed appendage verified its effectiveness in the full scale test and also has been proved the better resistance performance in the model test and full scale test.

조종자 입력패턴을 활용한 RIB형 무인선의 침로제어기 설계 (Design of Course Keeping Controller for RIB-type USV Using a Pilot's Steering Pattern)

  • A new course keeping controller for RIB(Rigid Inflatable Boat)-type USV(Unmanned Surface Vehicle) is developed using pilot's steering pattern. A pilot's simple steering pattern is found out from various course change tests. It is used to course keeping algorithm, suitable for large course change more than 60 degrees. To validate the course keeping controller, sea trial tests are conducted. From sea trial test, new course keeping controller shows good performance with less overshoot, maximum roll angle less than $20^{\circ}$, which makes it possible that fast course changes without slip motion of USV.

  • In order to evaluate the safety of navigation at sea and the safety of mooring ship on berthing, it is necessary that the wave and wind induced ship dynamic motion should be measured in real time domain for the validity of theoretical evaluation method such as sea-keeping performance and safety of mooring. In this paper, the basic design of sensors is discussed and some system configurations were shown. The developed system mainly consists of 4 kinds of sensors such as three dimensional accelerator, two dimensional tilt sensor, two displacement sensors and azimuth sensor. Using the this measuring system, it can be obtained the 6 degrees of freedom of ship dynamic motions at sea and on berthing such as rolling, pitching, yawing, sway, heave, surge under the external forces.

Improved Adaptive Neural Network Autopilot for Track-keeping Control of Ships: Design and Simulation

  • This paper presents an improved adaptive neural network autopilot based on our previous study for track-keeping control of ships. The proposed optimal neural network controller can automatically adapt its learning rate and number of iterations. Firstly, the track-keeping control system of ships is described For the track-keeping control task, a way-point based guidance system is applied To improve the track-keeping ability, the off-track distance caused by external disturbances is considered in learning process of neural network controller. The simulations of track-keeping performance are presented under the influence of sea current and wind as well as measurement noise. The toolbox for track-keeping simulation on Mercator chart is also introduced.

Comparison of CFD simulations with experimental data for a tanker model advancing in waves

  • In this paper, CFD simulation results for a tanker model are compared with experimental data over a range of wave conditions to verify a capability to predict the sea-keeping performance of practical hull forms. CFD simulations are conducted using WISDAM-X code which is capable of unsteady RANS calculations in arbitrary wave conditions. Comparisons are made of unsteady surface pressures, added resistance and ship motions in regular waves for cases of fully-loaded and ballast conditions of a large tanker model. It is shown that the simulation results agree fairly well with the experimental data, and that WISDAM-X code can predict sea-keeping performance of practical hull forms.

팽창식 튜브를 부착한 6m급 스포츠 보트 개발에 관한 연구 (The study on the development of 6m class sports RIB)

  • The 6m class high speed boat is developed with a durable hull and inflatable tube, which is called RIB(Rigid Inflatable Boat), for the purpose of marine leisure. In the stage of the conceptual design, its requirements to be optimized are determined based on the presented information of similar marine leisure RIBs. The 3-D graphical technique using Marine Rhino is utilized to optimize the compartment layout of RIB. The stability analysis is performed for the light and full load conditions with and without the inflatable tube. In addition, the sea keeping and hydrodynamic performance was tested using the proto-type ship in the sea condition. From the results of the computation and the sea trial test, it shows that the performance of the marine leisure RIB satisfies the speed, the convenience, and the stability requirements. This study provides the typical information of the design factors and the procedure to manufacture the marine leisure RIB.

  • This paper presents an adaptive neural network based controller and its application to Dynamic Positioning (DP) control system of ship. The proposed neural network based controller is developed for station-keeping and low-speed maneuvering control of ship. At first, the DP system configuration is described. And then, to validate the proposed DP system, computer simulations of station-keeping and low-speed maneuvering performance of a multi-purpose supply ship are presented under the influence of measurement noise, external disturbances such as sea current, wave, and wind. The simulations have shown the feasibility of the DP system in various maneuvering situations.

  • 본 연구에서는 선박의 항해 안전성과 정박 중인 선박의 계류 안전성 평가에 기초가 되는 선체운동 평가를 위한 다목적 계측시스템을 개발하는데 있다. 다목적 계측시스템은 선박에 탑재되어 외력에 의해 발생하는 동적 동요를 계측 및 분석하기 위해 상하, 좌우, 전후방향의 가속도량을 측정하는 3축 가속도 계측기를 포함하여, 방위 센서, 2축 경사계 및 초음파 변위계로 구성하였다. 선박의 항해 및 계류 안전성을 종합적으로 평가하기 위해서는 특정 센서를 이용, 선체운동을 실시간으로 측정하여 내항성능 평가 시스템과 항해 또는 정박 중인 선박의 상태에 관한 선박 데이터베이스 시스템을 이용하여 평가한다. 개발된 다목적 계측시스템은 해상에서의 전복사고 분석, 선박 출입항 통제, 부두에서의 하역작업 통제, 조선소에서의 내항성능 및 안전설계에 있어서도 적용이 가능하리라 본다.

Degradation Analysis of User Terminal EIRP and G/T due to Station-Keeping Variation of Stratospheric Platform

  • Wireless communication systems using airship have been proposed in worldwide. The airship will be located at the stratosphere about $20{\sim}23\;km$ above the sea level. The position of airship will vary within the station keeping range with time due to the drag of the wind in the stratosphere. When the earth station antenna has a high gain without the tracking function, the antenna performance may be degraded by a small variation of the airship. This means that variation of airship location could result in serious degradation of the system performance. In this paper, degradation in earth station's Equivalent Isotropic Radiated Power (EIRP) and Gain to noise Temperature ratio (G/T) due to the stratospheric platform movements has been derived by calculating the deviation angle of the main beam directions between the earth station and the platform antenna. In this case, the antenna of the earth station has been assumed circular and/or patch array antennas.
