In case of mechanical joint using screw, nut shall be secured over than minimize third screw pitch. In case of insert backsheet for increase of joint force, increase weight for assemble by screw pitch. In case of insert backsheet with CF1263/Epoxy, predominant save weight and minimazer of displacement by tensile weight moreover predominant strength. In case of mechanical joint by rivet, rivet of Monobolt has over-hole in hole of CF1263/Epoxy but rivet of PROTRUDING has predominant of mechanical joint.

  • This paper presents a new non-contact 3D robotic inspection system to measure the precise positions of screw and punch holes on a car body frame. The newly developed sensor consists of a CCD camera, two laser line generators and LED light. This lightweight sensor can be mounted on an industrial robot hand. An inspection algorithm and system that work with this sensor is presented. In performance evaluation tests, the measurement accuracy of this inspection system was about 200 ${\mu}m$, which is a sufficient accuracy in the automotive industry.

  • The purpose of this article is to present the clinical and laboratory procedures for single tooth restoration using 'Combination Implant Crown'. It is cemented on implant abutment and that abutment is screw-retained over implant body. This type of implant restorations has the advantages of cement-retained restoration while being antirotational and retrievable. And, more esthetic and functional result can be achieved by minimizing the size of access hole. The results were as follows : 1. Preparation of abutment below the cuff line should be avoided 2. Axial reduction of implant abutment should not be excessive because it may weaken the abutment 3. More esthetical and functional occlusal surface was achieved with a minimal access hole which is slightly larger than the diameter of hex driver to enable future total retrievability. 4. Combination Implant Crown has the advantages of both the cement-retained and screw-retained type implant restoration. 5. Cementation between implant crown and abutment reduces screw loosening through even force distribution

  • This study proposes an advanced type of a micropile system. The proposed micropile system consists of perfobond ribs installed steel rod to improve shear capacity between the thread and the grout, and partially expanded drill holes to increase resistance capacity between the grout and the ground. This study contains experimental evaluations on the proposed micropile system to verify the shear capacity of perfobond rib installed on the steel rod and the load-carrying capacity of shear key created by the partially expanded drill hole. Push-out tests were conducted on a rolled screw thread and steel rods which perfobond ribs are installed instead of rolled screw, in order to compare their load-carrying capacity and behavioral characteristics. As a result, it was confirmed that the perfobond-rib steel rods show much superior structural behavior in terms of initial stiffness, ultimate load, and ductile behavior.

  • To examine the effect of the individual operational variables on extrusion process, test trials of the fractional factorial design of the three process variables at three levels, including feed rate, screw speed and die openings, were carried out by using a laboratory scale twin-screw extruder with three different screw configuration for corn grit with the water addition fixed at 15% of the powder feed rate. As the increase of feed rate, while extrusion temperature(ET), specific mechanical energy input (SME), and residence time(RT) were showed the tendency to decrease, extrusion pressure(EP) was increased and as the increase of screw speed, ET, SME and EP were showed the tendency to increase, but RT was decreased. However, as increase the number of die hole, all system parameters were showed the tendency to decrease. The influence of the change in each process parameters was increased as the increase of the number of reverse element in screw configuration. In case of using the screw configuration with increasing number of reverse element at the condition of same process parameters, ET, SME and RT was increased, but EP was decreased. The functional relationships of the system parameters to the process parameters can be quantified by using multiple regression equations(mostly R-sq>0.90) and maped on suface response diagrams to expedite evaluation.

  • In order to assess the stiffness of bearing screw used for lead screw, finite element analysis on stress and fatigue life of bearing screw has been performed. Based on these analysis, fatigue life dominant model of bearing screw was proposed. This improved model introduces a fillet to release the concentrated stress generated in the vicinity of bearing screw hole. This paper also considered the strength suitability when the bearing screw manufactured in W company was applied to X-ray CT.

  • The recent development of core techniques in the IT industry can be summarized as a technical advancement for safety and convenience, and mechanical technology for being "eco-friendly" and lightweight. Under these circumstances, research of lightweight material has become attractive. In this study, CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic) laminate specimens are subjected to a tensile test using the UTM(Universal Testing Machine, AG-IS 100 kN) to estimate their mechanical properties in terms of the Hole machining impact evaluation. The FEM (Finite Elements Method) analysis method is applied and the material properties obtained from basic experiments such as the Tensile test, the compressive test, and the shear test. CFRP materials properties from a previous study, as well as a finite element analysis program for Hole machining CFRP was compared with the experiments.

  • The performance of screw air compressor is affected by rotor profile, lobe number, air end wrap angle, rotor L/D ratio, suction and discharge ports, revolutions of air end and load regulation control, etc. In general, an efficient screw compressor needs a rotor profile of which has a large flow cross-section area, short sealing lines and a small blow-hole. In this study, experimental study was performed with newly designed $5{\times}6$ rotor profile and various shapes of air end. Results show that the measured specific power consumption of the newly designed screw compressor appeared to be lower than any other published data for the equivalent screw compressors manufactured.

  • System parameters (extrusion temperature, extrusion pressure, specific mechanical energy, mean residence time) were analysed on three different screw configurations during twin-screw extrusion of wheat bran. Experiments were conducted over a screw speed of $280{\sim}380\;rpm$, feed rate of $22{\sim}38\;kg/hr$ and moisture content of $17{\sim}33%$ using screws assembled with 3, 4, and 5 reverse screw elements (RSE) adjacent to the heating zone of the barrel. Extrusion temperature increased with increasing RSE but it decreased with increasing feed rate and moisture content. Decreasing the filling ratio of the screw resulted in a lower extrusion pressure, and increasing the length of the RSE gave similar results due to the higher temperature and lower viscosity of melted dough. It was also observed that increasing the feed rate and decreasing moisture content resulted in the reduced extrusion pressure. Specific mechanical energy (SME) decreased when the feed rate and moisture content increased, and SME increased when using RSE posses from 3 to 5. Screw configuration posses with 4 RSE yielded the longest RT, and the smaller the die hole, the higher the RT. In contrast, RT decreased when the feed rate increased. With increasing moisture content RT for 3 RSE increased, but that for 4 and 5 RSE decreased.
