Regulatory Policy: Bibliometric Analysis Using the VOSviewer Program

  • Today the regulation of socio-economic development has been the subject of active scientific debate. The modern paradigm of regulatory policy in foreign countries involves a change in the role and strategy of the state, which determines the relevance of this topic. The aim of the article is to study the current state of regulatory policy research. The article is based on a bibliographic analysis of the study of regulatory policy. The study is based on the data search functions of the Scopus platform. It uses a set of VOSviewer program, online visualization of keywords in the titles of scientific journals and citations of publications. The study led to the conclusion that the number of publications that directly study the nature and features of regulatory policy is insignificant, but constantly growing. In our opinion, further research should determine the essence of regulatory policy as a separate category, a description of its features and factors of formation. It is also necessary to develop a common concept that governments should be actively involved in ensuring the quality of regulation, rather than responding to the shortcomings of regulation, which is evolving into regulatory governance.

  • Paraquat(methyl viologen) is a bis-quaternary ammonium compound as a wide range herbicide. which was first introduced as an oxidation-reduction indicator dye. When paraquat(fatal dose. 1-2g) was administered to men, the oxido-reduction system of cell was repeatedly acted to perpetuate the cell membrane system, Many death cases had been occurred after ingestion of paraquat around Daejon area for the last six months.   • Gastric contents and blood samples are generally analyzed for the detection of the Drug-toxic substances(DTS) in the postmortem specimens, but tissue specimens from postmortem for the detection of the DTS are, especially, required in the cases that analysis of DTS in blood or gastric contents is impossible because of insufficient or inaccessible specimens in special cases.   • This essay aims to search for the general tendency and characteristics of scientific citizenship, expert knowledge power, and governance in Korea, followed by the analysis of the citizen's perception survey on science and technology. Also, based on the analysis, we try to outline the state of scientific citizenship, and prospect its future. For this purpose, firstly, we choose 11 issues among 13 issues, categorize them into five sub-fields, such as reproduction technologies, nuclear power, climate change and energy, food risk, and information and communication, and analyze them. Consequently, we can pick out six general tendencies and characteristics of scientific citizenship, expert knowledge power, and governance in Korea. To sum up, we try to look ahead the future of scientific citizenship in Korea.

An Analysis of Elementary School Students과 Personality, Scientific Attitude and Correlation Analysis of between Them (초등학생의 성격특성과 과학적 태도 분석과 이들의 상관관계 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze elementary school students' personality, scientific attitude and to find the correlation between elementary school students' personality and scientific attitude. To determine this, the distribution of sixth graders' personality and scientific attitude was examined and correlation between the lower categories of each one was analyzed. The test tools and the subject were decided through the two preliminary examination, personality test and scientific attitude test were investigated appling to a total of 354 sixth-grade students at eight elementary schools in this study. The test results were analyzed with averages, standard deviations, correlations, ANOVA using SPSS/PC/sup +/. The major results of analysis are as follows. First, the distribution of scientific attitude proved that the average of boys' curiosity was higher than that of girls' curiosity, but girls' average was higher than boys' average in criticalness property, cooperation property, preparation property, continuation property and patience property. The distribution of upper group and lower group in personality properties revealed that the ratio of upper group was higher than that of lower group in activity property, social property, but the ratio of lower group was higher than that of upper group in responsibility and reflective property. Second, the socio-populational variables affecting 6th graders' personality' and science attitude were a sex, a sibling order. The cognition variables affecting 6th graders' personality and science attitude were preference, extent of usability to practical life and interest of science. Third, analyzing the correlation between lower categories of personality and lower categories of science attitude revealed that activity property of personality rather highly correlated to willingness property, critical property at .399(p<.01), .351(p<.01) respectively. and that consideration property of personality highly correlated to curiosity, critical property at .451 (p<.01), .415(p<.01) respectively.

  • This paper analyzes the international impact of the scientific research of major countries by scientific field and examines its meaning. To this end, we select the highly cited papers (HCP) from scientific papers that are regarded as the output of scientific research, and then measure and compare the level of major countries' scientific impact, considering the input factors (GDP, R&D expenditure, and researchers) of scientific research. Based on the results of the analysis, we draw the conclusion and implications, and finally present the limitations of research and further research in this field.

  • In this study, we examine how scientific background is developed in order to raise the systematic strategy of scientific literate person's training, and provide the necessary foundation for the structure of future scientific literate person's training programs. For this purpose, we analyzed newspaper articles at the expert workshop of science education, discussed the true nature of scientific literate person, and derived the mechanism of manifesting scientific background. The derived mechanism was ranked in the order of understanding, empathy, execution, and sympathy. Using the presented stages and the parameters of stage transition, it is possible to construct an educational program and train the actual scientific literate person through science education when it is applied to school sites.

  • The historical aspects, policies, institutions, awards and measurement results of scientific literacy and scientific culture development in Indonesia have currently attracted further exploration. This paper utilizes secondary data research, further analyzed by employing the Supplementary Analysis technique. The results revealed that the tradition of writing and publishing scientific journals in Indonesia has existed ever since the Dutch East Indies with the journal's publication entitled 'Natuurkundig tijdschrift voor Nederlandsch Indië' in 1850. To date, Indonesia has owned 5,990 nationally accredited journals. Policy support has been provided at the national and regional levels, despite limitations in cultivating literacy and reading habit. From the institutional perspective, Indonesia provides a wide array of public support, including the effort of the Ministry of Education and Culture for advocating the national literacy movement and the availability of a reference database and scientific access established by the National Library; the Indonesian Institute of Sciences, and the Ministry of Research and Technology. Similarly, in the award-related perspective, the Indonesia government has granted awards to individuals or groups and local governments engaging in the cultivation of scientific literacy and scientific culture. However, among the global measurements for literacy development in Indonesia (in 2020) recorded that three indicators scored less than those in 2019.

An Assessment of the Scientific literacy of Secondary School Students (중학생과 고등학생의 과학적 소양 평가)

  • This study sets out to assess the scientific literacy of secondary school students and to describe their differences according to gender, grade, course. This study involved 112 middle school students and 213 high school students. Their scientific literacy was measured by the Scientific Literacy Test designed by Manhart (1997). A 70-item multiple-choice test was used to assess their scientific literacy. The constructs of science factor included 36 items making up physical science, life science, and earth science subtests. The social aspects of science factor consisted of 34 items in nature of scientific inquiry/knowledge, science as a human endeavor, science and technology, and societal perspectives. A two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and t-test were conducted using the SPSS program. The scientific literacy score of the middle school students was 45.17. There was no significant difference according to gender but boys tended to perform better than girls on both the constructs of science factor and the social aspects of science factor. The scientific literacy score of the high school students was 51.79. There was no significant difference according to gender. But, boys tended to perform better than girls on the constructs of science factor. Girls tended to perform better than boys on the social aspects of science factor. The students taking a course on natural science got statistically higher scores than the students taking a course on humanities. The high school students got statistically higher scores than the middle school students.

  • Recently, it has been possible to the alphoid gene, which has X and Y specificity, and determine the sex from human physical evidence using PCR methods. Samples from single sources, PCR method applied to the alphoid gene results in highly sensitive and accurate results even when only 60 pg of the genomic DNA was available for sex determination. Even for samples containing DNA from more than one gender source where the female DNA was present in the amount 10 times than that of the male, sex determination was possible. Therefore, this result suggests that alphoid gene, which has X and Y specificity, could be used effectively for sex determination in case of mixed DNA samples from biological evidence.
