2007과 2009 개정 교육과정의 초등학교 5, 6학년 과학 교과서 삽화 비교 연구 (A Comparative Study of Illustration on the Grade 5 and 6 Science Textbook in Elementary School between the 2007 Curriculum and 2009 Revised Curriculum)

  • The purpose of this research is to consider whether current science textbook is designed to let children properly obtain scientific knowledge through research study and at the same time provide an implication to help development of science textbook for the 2015 revised curriculum through comparing and analyzing of illustration in science textbooks of grade 5 and 6 published based on the 2007 curriculum and on the 2009 revised curriculum. The conclusion of comparison and analysis on illustration of the grade 5 and 6 science textbooks in the 2007 curriculum and the 2009 revised curriculum as follows. First, according to the comparison and analysis result on in the textbook, science textbook of year 2009 revised for grade 5 and 6 had 1.65 illustration per page and for the 2007 curriculum, it had 1.98 illustrations per page having 0.83 times more illustrations than that of the previous one. Second, the types of illustrations both textbooks had a higher ratio of pictures that are very detailed and objective which can identify scientific facts. In terms of role of illustration, illustrations providing various and realistic data related to the learning for students to have enough scientific experiences accounted for the most ratios.

초등 과학 교과서에서 창의적 문제해결력 분석특 개발과 적용 - 5, 6학년 1학기 교과서를 중심으로 - (Development and Application of a Creative Problem Solving Analysis Framework for Elementary School Science Textbook - Focused on the 5th and 6th grade 1st semester -)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop the analytic framework of Creative Problem Solving(CPS) for elementary school science textbook. For this purpose, we developed the framework based on the theories of problem, definition of problem solving and various kinds of CPS model. The six elements of the framework for content analysis were extracted through theoretical examination: problem introduction, problem statement, solution thinking, formulating hypothesis, testing hypothesis, and assessment. The developed framework was applied to the extbooks for the 5th and the 6th grades 1st semester in elementary science textbook of the 7th national curriculum. The results of this study were as follows: 1. The scores of the framework for content analysis in the 5th grade were slightly higher than those of the 6th grade, but there were no significant difference. 2. The comparison of the scores between the elements of the framework was found that the scores on the elements of testing hypothesis and formulating hypothesis were higher than those of the other elements. 3. The comparison of the scores between the units was found that the scores of the framework for the 9th unit (“trip of water”) of the 5th grade were higher than those of the other units, which were presented lower level than 1.0 (50.0%) score of the framework. 4. The comparison of the scores between the intensive course and the regular coures in the 6th grade textbook was showed that the scores on the intensive course were higher than the basic course. In conclusions, it was found that the problem introduction and problem statement in the textbook should be amended, and that various information and activities should be presented in the textbook.

귀국학생 지도를 위한 미국과 한국의 초등 과학과 교과서 내용 분석 (Content Analysis of the Elementary Science Textbooks Between USA and Korea for leaching the Returnee Students)

  • The purpose of the study is to compare and analyze the elementary science textbooks' contents between the United States(Science Horizons) and Korea for teaching the Returnee students. The analyzed contents are the name of chapters, the number of chapters, the page amounts of chapters, the structure of chapters and the studying time of chapters. The results of this study are : 1. Korean science textbook's number is 20. 'Science Horizons' has 6. Korean science textbook's total number of chapter is 58, 'Science Horizons' is 75. Korean science textbook's total number of page is 1,60.3, 'Science Horizons' is 2,106. So 'Science Horizons' has more number of chapter and page than Korean textbooks. 2. The ratio of Korean science textbook's contents is as follows: physical area, 22.4%; chemistry area, 12 1%: biology area, 39.6%; earth science area, 25.9%. But the ratio of 'Science Horizons' science textbook's contents is as follows: physical area,21.3%; chemistry area,4.0%; biology area, 46.7%; earth science area. 28.0%. 3. In case of 'Predicting the Weather' chapter, Korean science textbook has 3 lessons, 17 themes and 11 activities, whereas' Science Horizons' has 5 lessons, 10 themes and 5 activities. 4. The themes or chapters of 'Science Horizons' to propose deeper than Korea are about animals and plants, energy and movement, weather and season. our body, and earth and outer space. In case of Korean textbook are about chemistry area, the rock and volcanic activity and electric circuit. There are some differences between Korean and the United States' elementary science curriculum and textbook's contents. And the returnee students has many troubles to adapt korean science curriculum, textbooks and educational environment,;. Therefore, teachers should know and understand that, and help them.

제 6.7차 교육과정 초등학교 3.4학년 과학교과서 물질영역 비교 분석 (The Analysis of Comparison on the Material Area in the 6th and 7th National Curriculums초 3rd and 4th Grade Science Textbooks)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine how well students can acquire scientific knowledge from the process and activity presented in the textbook. This is achieved by analysing of comparison on the material area in the 6th and 7th national curriculums' 3rd and 4th grade science textbooks. The method of this study is to analyse the contents, teacher's instruction and illustrations of the textbooks in the material area in both 6th and 7th national curriculum's 3rd and 4th grade science textbooks. Following is the result of the study. First, compared to the 6th national curriculum's content. 7th national curriculum is composed by phenomenon and activity focused. This considers student's developmental stages and abilities of concentration so one topic in the textbook is divided into 16 small contents. Therefore the textbook content of the 7th curriculum seems to have desirable changes. Secondly, teacher's instruction in the textbook of the 7th curriculum has impartial distribution in part Ⅰ and part Ⅱ according to Homey's analysis. This shows that some problems of writing textbooks that were pointed in the 6th curriculum have been improved. Thirdly, the content of the textbook emphasizes inquiry process as the 6th curriculum did. The 7th curriculum, however, more deeply deals with expecting and inferring. Finally, the analysis of illustration shows that the proportion of motive induction is high. This is also desirable approach to give students more interests in studying science.

인포그래픽을 중심으로 살펴본 초등 과학교과서 시각화 자료의 유형과 역할 (Types and Roles of Visualization Materials in Elementary Science Textbook focusing on Infographics)

  • The visualization materials in science textbooks are very important in students' learning. Recent visualizations are increasingly emphasizing the importance of infographic visualizations. The purpose of this study is to analyze the visualization materials in $5^{th}$ and $6^{th}$ elementary science textbook focusing on infographics. Visualization materials were classified into infographic and simple illustration. Infographics were classified into 8 sub-types. Findings are as follows. First, infographics were 19.0%, and simple illustrations were 81.0% among elementary textbooks' visualization materials. The portion of infographic varied by content areas. In Biology and Earth Science area, the portions of infographic were high. Second, several types of infographics were used in elementary science textbooks. Timeline infographic were the most frequent, and emphasis infographic, concept mapping infographic, comparison infographic were used frequently. The most frequent types of infographic were different by content area. Third, infographics used more than simple illustrations in the role of concept explanation. Educational implications on science textbook's infographics were discussed.

중학교 환경 교과서의 질문방략 (A Comparison of Questioning Styles in Middle School Environmeotology Textbook)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the questioning styles in middle school environmentology textbook In terms of frequency, type, and placement of questions. It was also to analyse and to compare the kinds of scientific inquiry processes elicited by the questions in the topics of textbooks. The instrument was the Textbook Questing Strategies Assessment Instrument (TQSAI) developed the Cooperative Teacher Preparation Project, University of California. The average number of Questions per topic was only 1.09 and the ratio of questions to sentences was 2.5%. Most of questions were in explanatory place(75%). Nearly 90% of experienced questions types were reasoning or application. The frequencies of non-experiential question were higher than those of experiential question. In action, there were much kinds of question-styles.

최근 20년 동안의 초등 과학 교과서 연구 동향 분석 (Research Trends of Elementary Science Textbook: Focus on Papers Published in Domestic Journals in the Last Twenty Years)

  • 본 연구는 초등 과학 교과서 연구의 동향과 특징을 파악하기 위해 2001년부터 2021년까지 과학과 관련 학술지에 게재된 논문 중, 초등 과학 교과서와 관련된 연구 156편을 분석하여 교과서 분석에 관한 연구 동향을 살펴보았다. 분석 기준은 '형식'과 '주제' 두 개의 대범주로 구성하고, '형식'의 하위 범주로 '발행연도', '대상 교육과정', '분석 학년', '과학 내용 영역', '분석 대상', '발행 기관'을 '주제'의 하위 범주로는 '비교 연구', '내용 분석', '삽화', '탐구활동', '교과서에 대한 인식', '기타'로 설정하였다. '형식'에 대한 분석 결과 거의 매년 교과서 관련 연구가 수행되고 있었고 2009 개정 교육과정기에 가장 많은 연구가 수행되었으며, 전 학년(3~6학년) 및 과학의 전 영역을 대상으로 다룬 연구가 대부분을 차지하였다. 또한 과학교육 관련 학회지뿐만 아니라 비관련 학회지에서도 과학 교과서에 관한 연구가 수행되었다. '주제'에 대한 분석 결과 비교 연구, 내용 분석, 삽화, 탐구활동, 교과서에 대한 인식 순으로 연구 비율이 높았다. 초등 과학 교과서 연구 동향에 대한 분석을 바탕으로 초등 과학 검정 교과서에 대한 시사점을 얻고자 하였다.

디지털교과서의 상호작용성이 학습태도에 미치는 영향 : 태블릿PC 기반의 사회와 과학 디지털교과서를 중심으로 (Effects of Digital Textbook's Interactivity on the Learning Attitude : With a focus on the Tablet PC-based Digital Textbooks of Social Studies and Science)

  • 본 논문은 디지털교과서의 전국적 시행을 앞두고 디지털교과서의 상호작용성이 학생의 학습태도에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 그동안 진행되어 온 디지털교과서 연구는 주로 디지털교과서 집단과 서책형 집단의 학습효과 비교가 주를 이루었다. 그러나 본 연구는 매체 풍요도로서의 상호작용성을 도입해 인지된 상호작용성의 관점에서 학습태도에 영향을 미치는 디지털교과서의 상호작용성 요인을 도출하여 연구모형을 설정하고, 사회와 과학 디지털교과서 시범학교의 초등학생을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시해 실증적 검증을 하였다. 연구 결과, 상호작용성 요인인 능동적 제어권, 쌍방향 커뮤니케이션, 동시성이 학습태도에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 본 연구의 결과를 통해, 디지털교과서 개발 시 상호작용성을 효과적으로 구현하는 방향으로 가야 함을 확인하였다. 그러나 디지털교과서의 고정된 상호작용성이 중요한 것이 아니라 사용자인 학생이 이를 어떻게 느끼고 활용하는지가 중요하므로 본 연구에서 확인된 능동적 제어권, 쌍방향 커뮤니케이션, 동시성을 비롯해 디지털교과서에 적합한 상호작용성이 구현되어야 할 것이다.

2015 개정 수학과 교육과정에 따른 교과서에 제시된 들이와 무게 내용 분석 (An Analysis of the Capacity and Weight Contents Presented in Textbooks According to the 2015 Revised Mathematics Curriculum)

  • 초등학교 수학에서 측정은 수학을 실생활에 직접 활용할 수 있는 수학 중 하나이다. 본 연구에서는 3-4, 5-6학년군 수학 교과서가 검정 교과서로 개발된다는 점과 측정에서 들이와 무게가 교과서 지면 구성의 제한에 의해 일반적인 측정 지도 과정이 응축되어 제시되고 있다는 점에 근거를 두고 교과서 내용을 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 분석 관점인 비교 활동, 표준 단위의 필요성 인식과 도입 활동, 어림 활동의 3가지 면에서 국정 교과서를 비롯한 3종의 검정 교과서 내용은 세부적인 면에서 차이가 있었지만, 전체적인 내용 구성과 활동은 유사하였다. 이를 통해 각 측정 활동의 의미를 부각시킬 수 있는 교과서 내용 구성과 학생들의 활동 중심의 교과서를 개발할 수 있는 교육 정책의 개선과 교과서 개발에 노력이 필요함을 제기하였다.

초등학교 과학 교과서의 텍스트에 대한 어휘와 문장 단위의 이독성 분석 (An Analysis on the Readability of the Texts in Elementary School Science Textbooks in Terms of Word and Sentence Units)

  • In this study, the readability of the texts in the third and the sixth grade science textbooks developed under the 2007 revised science curriculum were analyzed in terms of word and sentence units. In the word unit analyses, the levels of the words in the texts were classified into four categories, 1st to 4th levels. In the sentence unit analyses, the sentences in the texts were classified either a simple sentence or compound/complex sentences, and the average length of the sentences was also calculated. The results indicated that more than 90 percents of the words in the 2007 revised science textbooks were classified as the 1st to the 3rd levels. However, both the kinds and the frequencies of the words in the 2007 revised science textbooks were increased in comparison of those in the 7th science textbooks. In particular, it was found that the increasement in the 3rd grade science textbook was noticeable. The ratio of the compound/complex sentences in the 2007 revised science textbooks were increased in comparison of those in the 7th science textbooks. The average length of the sentences in the 2007 revised science textbooks was also increased.
