친환경 단열설계를 위한 STEAM 창의교육 프로그램 개발연구 - 고등학생 대상의 업사이클링 벽체모듈디자인 중심으로 - (A Study on the Development of STEAM Creative Education Program for Eco Insulation Design - Focusing on Up-Cycling Wall Module Design for High School Students -)

  • Korea is promoted STEAM education since 2011. Furthermore, in high school education, based on the in-depth elective course's teaching and learning contents of science. The STEAM program can improve students' competence because it encourages to self-directed learning through the vocational project performance. Therefore, in this study, we researched a design education program for the experience of fusion and complex design based on STEAM education concept. We developed an education program to design insulation wall systems using up-cycling concepts to increase energy efficiency. As a result, the characteristics of the fusion education and the theoretical study about the learner-centered education curriculum, the analysis of the high school curriculum, the STEAM elements, The program was revised and supplemented through consultation with STEAM experts. In addition, the developed program was applied to high school students, and each step were analyzed based on the educational method theory. The following results were obtained. First, this study presented a program to cope with the needs of high school intensive education. Second, it provided learning motivation by combining flipped-learning as a way to train STEAM education contents. Third, it is required to develop differentiated and continuous program development and data sharing Fourth, in order to operate and promote the future environment design STEAM school, it is necessary to expand educational programs for high school students in the region through linkage with various universities.

의과대학생들의 진로선택과 진로지도 (Medical Student Career Choice and Career Planning)

  • Purpose: This study analysed the intention of medical students career choice, educational programmes, and mentoring and counseling system for career planning at Yonsei medical school in Korea. Methods: The data were collected based on four separate graduation questionnaires at Yonsei medical school in the years of 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008. The number of the survey was 130 in 2005, 130 in 2006, 153 in 2007, and that of the latest was 120 in 2008. We analysed the career intention on medical specialties and activities, and perceptions of important factors in choosing medical specialty. Results : The results which can be drawn from this study are these: firstly. students had more intention for choosing clinical medicine as university faculty than any other activities. While male students preferred to major in surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedic surgery, urology, otorhinolaryngology, female students in internal medicine, neurology, anesthesiology and pain medicine, diagnostic radiology, laboratory medicine. Secondly, students perceived that the most important factor which can influence on choosing a medical specialty was individual factor such as one's interests and concerns, values, and aptitudes. In stead, they relatively less perceived mentor and role model's effects on choosing a medical specialty compared to those of the United States of America. Third, the career planning at Yonsei medical school was evaluated well, especially educational programmes for career planning such as self assessment programme, elective(specialized) courses, and conversation with a senior programme. Conclusions: Unexpectedly, there are high demands for career planning by medical students. Therefore, we will reorganize systematic devices for career planning such as mentoring and counseling system at medical school.

전문직 정체성 형성 및 촉진을 위한 의학교육 현황과 고려점 (Current Status and Directions of Professional Identity Formation in Medical Education)

  • Professional identity formation (PIF) is an essential concept in professional education. Many scholars have explored conceptual frameworks of PIF and conducted empirical studies to advance an understanding of the construct in medical education. Despite its importance, it is unclear what educational approaches and assessment practices are actually implemented in medical education settings. Therefore, we conducted a literature review of empirical studies reporting educational practices for medical learners' PIF. We searched the Web of Science database using keywords and chose 37 papers for analysis based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Thematic analysis was conducted. Most empirical papers (92%) were from North America and Western Europe and used qualitative research methods, including mixed methods (99%). The papers reported the use of reflection activities and elective courses for specific purposes, such as art as an educational activity. Patient and healthcare experiences were also found to be a central theme in medical learners' PIF. Through an iterative analysis of the key themes that emerged from the PIF studies, we derived the following key concepts and implications: (1) the importance of creating informal and incidental learning environments, (2) ordinary yet authentic patient experiences, (3) a climate of psychosocial safety in a learning environment embracing individual learners' background and emotional development, and (4) the reconceptualization of PIF education and assessment. In conclusion, research on PIF should be diversified to include various cultural and social contexts. Theoretical frameworks should also be diversified and developed beyond Kegan's developmental framework to accommodate the nonlinear and dynamic nature of PIF.

수산계 고등학교 활성화 방안 (Measures to revitalize fisheries high school)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the status of admission and employment in fisheries high schools (FHS) and to consider ways to revitalize FHS through substantialization. The recruitment rate of new students in FHS decreased from 97.4% in 2016 to 83.2% in 2020. The aging training ship that FHS needs to improve most urgently is being jointly used by FHS across the country, and the construction of a joint training ship managed by the Korea Institute of Maritime and Fisheries Technology is being promoted. The average employment rate for FHS by year was 40.2-59.4%, and the fisheries-related employment rate was low at 31.0-38.9%. On the other hand, the acquisition rate of certificate of competence was 37.5-52.0%, and the rate of employment on board of those who obtained the certificate of competence was 42.9-59.8%. In order to secure new students and improve the recruitment rate, we operate experiential classrooms that reflect the characteristics of training ships and departments and conduct public relations activities using sns, publicity video ucc, YouTube, etc. It will be necessary to expand opportunities for fisheries-related vocational experience through active career exploration and elective courses in the FHS credit system. Finally, it is judged that fisheries related government agencies, industries and local governments need to improve their awareness of FHS and plan to support fisheries manpower nurturing in order to attempt the vitalization of FHS.

Clinical Comparison of Low-dose and High-dose Steroid in Pediatric Cardiac Surgery with Cardiopulmonary Bypass

  • Cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) for cardiac surgery triggers the production and release of numerous chemotactic substances and cytokines, ensuing systemic inflammatory response that leads to postoperative major organ dysfunction. Traditionally, corticosteroids (steroid) have been administered to patients undergoing cardiac surgery to ward off these detrimental physiologic alterations. However, the majority of the studies have been performed on adult patients with high-dose steroid. We carried out a randomized, prospective, double-blind study to compare the efficacy of low-dose steroid with that of high-dose steroid and to determine the adequate dose of pretreated-steroid for prophylactic effects in pediatric cardiac surgery. Thirty pediatric patients scheduled for elective cardiac surgery were randomly assigned to two groups; fifteen patients received low-dose methylprednisolone (10mg/kg intravenously, n=15, low-dose group) and the others received high-dose methylprednisolone (30mg/kg intravenously, n=15, high-dose group) 1 hour prior to CPB. Arterial blood samples were taken before CPB (Pre-CPB), 10 minutes after start of CPB (CPB-10), and immediately after CPB-end (CPB-OFF) for measuring total leukocyte counts (T-WBC) and diff-counts, platelet counts, interleukin-6 (IL-6), myeloperoxidase (MPO), total antioxidant (TAO), neuron-specific enolase (NSE), troponin I (TNI), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), creatinine, and blood urea nitrogen (BUN) levels. Other parameters such as volumes of urine output, pulmonary index $(PI,\;PaO_2/FiO_2)$, mechanical ventilating period, intensive care unit (ICU)-staying period, postoperative complications (fever, wound problem), postoperative 24 hrs and total volumes in blood loss, and hospitalized days were also assessed. All parameters were compared between two groups. There were no significant differences in T-WBC counts, monocyte fraction, platelet counts, TA levels, NSE levels, creatinine levels, BUN levels, the volumes of total urine output, PI, the incidences of fever and wound problem, postoperative 24hrs- and total-blood loss volumes and ICU-staying period between two groups (P>0.05). At CPB-OFF, neutrophil fraction, MPO level, TNI level, and AST level were higher in the high-dose group than in the low-dose group (P<0.05). IL-6 level at CPB-10 was higher in the high dose-group than in the low-dose group (P<0.05). Furthermore, mechanical ventilating periods and hospitalized days of the high-dose group were significantly longer than those of low-dose group (P<0.05). The high-dose group had significantly low lymphocyte fi-action at CPB-OFF compared with the low-dose group (P<0.001). These findings suggest that pretreatment of high-dose steroid is not superior to that of low-dose steroid regrading its potential benefits in pediatric cardiac surgery. Therefore, the conventional strategy of steroid treatment, high-dose pretreatment, should be modified in the cardiac surgery with CPB. However, further studies must be performed on the larger number of patients in as much as small number of patients in this study.

지구과학 창의적 이야기 쓰기 프로젝트 : 초등 예비교사들의 적용 사례 연구 (A Case Study on the Application of Creative Story Writing Project on Elementary Pre service Teachers)

  • 본 연구는 중부권에 소재한 교육대학교에서 교양 선택 과목으로 지구과학을 수강하는 비과학 전공의 초등 예비교사 52명을 대상으로 이루어졌다. 초등 예비교사들은 8차시에 걸쳐 지구계의 순환 이라는 주제로 학생들에게 들려주기 위한 창의적 이야기 쓰기 활동에 참여하였다. 이야기 쓰기 활동의 전 후에 마인드맵 그리기 활동을 통해 인식의 변화를 확인하였으며, 연구 대상 중 43명은 활동이 끝난 후에 자율적으로 구조적 면담에 참여하여 이야기 말하기 활동을 수행하였다. 방사형의 스토리맵을 변형하여 초등 예비교사들이 쓴 창의적 이야기를 분석한 사례를 소개하고, 과학 창의적 이야기의 분석 방법으로서 스토리맵 그리기를 제안한다. 본 연구에서는 창의적 이야기 쓰기 활동 전과 후의 마인드맵을 분석하여 긍정적인 변화를 연구하였다. 지구계의 순환에 대한 개념을 밝힌 본 연구를 통해 현행 7차 및 개정 교육과정의 지구계 단원에서 다루는 교수학습 내용과 이를 학습한 예비 교사들이 표현한 개념으로부터 차이점이 발견되었다.

심장수술시 심폐기 충전액에 첨가된 저용량 aprotinin의 효과 (Effect of Low Dose Administration of Aprotinin in Pump Priming Solution on Cardiac Surgery)

  • Serine protease 억제약물인 aprotinin은 체외순환을 동반한 심장수술 후 필연적으로 발생하는 혈액성분 손상을 포함한 유해한 합병증을 감소시키기 위해 사용한다. 그러나 이 약물의 용량이나 사용법에 대해 여전히 논란의 여지가 있다. 본 연구자들은 심장수술 동안 심폐기 충전액에 저 용량의 aprotinin을 투여하여 그 효과를 연구하였다. 30명의 성인 심장수술 환자들을 대상으로 aprotinin 투여군(n=15)과 대조군(n=15)으로 나눈 뒤 수술 전, 동안, 후의 시기에 혈액학적 및 생화학적 변수들, 사이토카인 및 심장 표지자, 수술 후 각종 임상결과들을 비교분석 하였다. 혈소판수와 activated partial thromboplastin time은 수술 후 24시간 때 아프로티닌군이 대조군 보다 유의하게 높았다. Troponin-I 농도와 수술 후 출혈량은 아프로티닌군이 대조군보다 유의하게 낮았다. 이러한 결과들을 볼 때 심장수술시 저 용량의 aprotinin을 심폐기 충전액에 첨가하는 방법은 혈소판의 파괴를 줄여줘 수술 후 출혈량의 감소를 제공해주며 심근보호 효과가 있는 것으로 판단된다. 향후 더 많은 성인 환자군과 소아환자에 대한 다양한 연구가 더 많이 수행되어야 할 것으로 사료된다.

사범대학 물리교육과의 전공 교육과정에 관한 예비 교사의 의견과 요구 (Pre-service Teachers' Opinions and Needs on the Physics Education Major Curriculum in College)

  • 이 연구에서는 교사 양성을 위한 전공 교육과정에 관하여 물리교육과 재학생의 인식을 조사하고 개선 방안을 탐색하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 한 사범대학의 물리교육과에 재학 중인 3학년 15명, 4학년 13명을 대상으로 설문을 실시하였다. 응답자 중 24명(86 %)이 고등학교에서 물리 I을 이수하였고, 22명(79%)은 대학수학능력시험에서 물리 I과목에 응시하였다. 설문 결과에 따르면 본인에게 현재 가장 필요한 영역으로 고등학교 물리 수준의 이해(36%), 일반물리학 수준의 이해(29 %) 등이 많이 선택되었다. 또 가장 필요한 신설 강좌로 응답자의 61 %(17명)가 고등학교 물리 수준의 강좌를 지목하였다. 아울러 일반물리학에 대한 학습이 필요하다는 점에 있어 비교적 일관된 의견을 보였다. 구체적으로 살펴보면 재학생들은 연습 문제 풀이가 어렵고 이해가 부족하여, 일반물리학 학습 과정에서 어려움을 겪는다고 응답하였다. 일반물리학 강좌의 개선 방안으로는 핵심 개념 이해를 위한 충분한 설명을 가장 우선시하였다. 이처럼 설문에 참여한 예비 교사들은 대체로 고교 물리 및 일반물리학의 이해를 도와줄 수 있는 방향으로 대학의 전공 교육과정이 개정되기를 희망하였다. 다만 고등학교에서 물리 II를 이수한 학생과 전혀 이수하지 않은 학생 사이에 의견 차이가 있었다. 새 교육과정의 적용 및 대학수학능력시험의 선택 과목 축소 등에 따라 향후 고등학교에서 물리를 이수하고 물리교육과에 입학하는 학생이 더욱 줄어들 것으로 예상되기 때문에, 학습 수요를 고려하여 전공 교육과정을 개정하는 방안을 다각적으로 검토할 필요가 있다.

Plastic필름 포장에 따른 옥수수 전분과 분리 대두단백질의 이성분 혼합물의 흡습특성 (Sorption Characteristics of Binary Mixture of Corn Starch- Soy Protein Isolates in Plastic film Packaging)

  • 전분가공식품의 주요 원료인 옥수수전분과 단백질강화 또는 육란백질의 대치 단백질인 분리대두단백질을 사료로 하여 전분-단백질의 이성분혼합비율을 오늘날 흔히 사용되고 있는 plastic flim으로 포장하여 상대습도 90%와 $40^{\circ}C$에서 포장재료의 성질이 흡습특성에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 포장재료별 투습도는 0.02mm LDPE필름이 $32.6g/m^2/24hrs$ 0.04mm LDPE필름이 $14.01g/m^2/24hrs,$ 0.02mm OPP 필름이 $7.30g/m^2/24hrs,$ 그리고 0.02mm LDPE /0.02 mmOPP coating필름이 $4.86g/m^2/24hrs,$로서 동일한 두께성에서 비교해 볼 때 LDPE필름보다 OPP필름이 습기의 차단성이 대략 4배이상 우수함을 알 수 있었다. 또 식품시료를 포장하여 저장하는 경우도 동일한 두께의 LDPE필름보다 OPP필름이 습기의 차단성이 우수하였다. 그리고 포장한 혼합물의 저장시간에 따른 흡습속도는 일반적으로 전분함량보다는 단백질함량이 많을수록 흡습속도가 크게 증가하는 것을 알 수 있었다.

RN-BSN과정 학생들의 아동간호학 교육내용에 대한 교육 요구도 조사 (A Survey of the Educational Demand for the Pediatric Nursing Curriculum in RN-BSN Students)

  • Considering the rapid change of modern nursing knowledge, it is necessary to make changes in the curriculum of nursing education periodically according to the patient-nursing needs and the students' needs. This means that nursing education has to provide opportunities for the development of knowledge, skills, and attitudes. Also, as the students of the RN-BSN program being all registered nurses, the education program for them is planned differently from the general undergraduate program. This study was conducted to establish the scope of educational contents of pediatric nursing in RN-BSN program. The contents of the pediatric nursing curriculum and its necessity was identified and reviewed. From June 5 to June 30 2000, data were collected from 309 RN-BSN students in 5 nursing schools. The questionnaire used for this study was developed by their researchers and the Korean Nursing Association and consisted of items according to the curriculum contents of pediatric nursing. The data were analyzed through frequency and percentages and was analyzed using SPSSWIN 10.0 programs. The results were as follows: 1.In the section surveying on the credits of pediatric theory and clinical practice, 3 out of 5 schools had 2 credits in theory (60.0%), and 2 credits for clinical practice in 2 schools, and 2 credits were given to the elective practice in 2 other schools. 2. In analyzing the degree of demand for lecture and clinical practice, 52.1% of students preferred lectures to be given by professors and 53.7% preferred their level of undergraduate knowledge updated and finally most of the students (81.9%) didn't want to do the clinical practice. 3.The students weighted the importance of current curriculum contents as follows : sex education of adolescence(60.8%), high-risk infant(59.5%), sex education of school age children(59.2%), the handicapped children (55.7%), health assessment(52.4%), children with pneumonia(51.5%), children with asthma (47.1%), children with burns(41.1%). In conclusion, there is a need for research to measure the degree of education satisfaction and needs in RN-BSN students and to improve the curriculum contents in pediatric nursing.
