Objectives: As an ecological study, this study was performed to identify the community-level variation of health related quality-of-life (HRQOL), and to explore the factors that explain the variation, using 2017 Korean Community Health Survey (KCHS) data. Methods: Community health indicators of KCHS, which are correlated with the EQ-5D index of Si-gun-gu districts, were selected as independent variables. Multiple linear regression model was used to derive factors that explain regional variations in the EQ-5D index. Results: The EQ-5D index variation in 229 districts nationwide was 1.1 times for extremal quotient (EQ) and 1.0 for coefficient of variance (CV). The Si-gun-gu districts with the EQ-5D index in the lower 25% were more distributed in the province (27.7%) than in the metropolitan area (20.3%). As a result of multiple linear regression analysis, the depressed mood experience rate, perceived stress rate, suicide ideation rate, and physician diagnosed arthritis rate were derived as major factors of the variation. Conclusions: In order to reduce the gap in HRQOL between the districts, the priority of local health policies should be placed on the above factors including psychosocial factors.

'Self-awareness' has its core on exactly understanding of your own desire, emotion, value, etc. and then keeping your sense of confidence etc. 'Self-management' has its core on controlling your emotion to overcome stress; suppressing your urge; setting your personal or academic goals and then managing your effort for such goals. This study is to answer the question, "How can we efficiently improve our righteous and good character in the elementary school students?", which is one of the core goals of elementary education. Considering the cultural base of Korea that has the tradition of Confucianism based moral education, Confucian idea that has been verified and accumulated for a long time also shows clearly its own useful value in contemporary moral education. The effort to reorganize such Confucian idea into a character education program and reflect it positively in education, therefore, will be meaningful. Wigijihak (爲己之學: study for yourself) that goes for completeness of moral self, Jungyongjido (中庸之道: positioned in a good balance) that goes for an even life without 'too much and too little' and Hoyeonjigi (浩然之氣: big heart) that encourages moral activeness will contribute largely to realization of 'education for whole person'.

Li-Gu was a Confucianist who criticized traditional 'attend to Righteousness and neglect Profit' idea and insisted that people affirmed 'Proprietiy' and 'Interest', which accorded with human nature and desire. He said that 'Proprieties' was made by adjusting one's material life and natural desire. Therefore, if we want 'Propriety' is manifested itself, we must affirm and satisfy the material life and natural desire first. He asserted that if we didn't follow this, the people's life would be devastated and the nation would face a big crisis. Li-Gu's thought not only gave Wang An Suk's Reformation a theoretical basics, but also attached the new and reformist meanings to 'Propriety', which had been changing meaningless and abstract, by criticizing Songming Confucian School and put great stress on uniting the inside and outside. In this article, through examining Li-Gu's the idea of Righteousness and Profit, King and Ruler, Inside and Outside, we can consider what the real 'Propriety' is and what kind of practical meaning 'Propriety' has.

This study identified genomic factors associated with endoplasmic reticulum protein (ERp)29 gene expression in a genome-wide association study (GWAS) of genetic variants, including single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). In total, 373 European genes from the 1000 Genomes Project were analyzed. SNPs with an allelic frequency of less than or more than 5% were removed, resulting in 5,913,563 SNPs including in the analysis. The following expression quantitative trait loci (eQTL) from the long noncoding RNA LOC105372577 were strongly associated with ERp29 expression: rs6138266 (p<4.172e10), rs62193420 (p<1.173e10), and rs6138267 (p<2.041e10). These were strongly expressed in the testis and in the brain. The three eQTL were identified through a transcriptome-wide association study (TWAS) and showed a significant association with ERp29 and osteosarcoma amplified 9 (OS9) expression. Upstream sequences of rs6138266 were recognized by ChIP-seq data, while HaploReg was used to demonstrate how its regulatory DNA binds upstream of transcription factor 1 (USF1). There were no changes in the expression of OS9 or USF1 following ER stress.

Vortex-induced vibration (VIV) occurs owing to the vortex generated from the back side of the appendages of ships and submarines during operation. Recently, the importance of high-order modes (HOMs) vibration and fatigue failure has become increasingly emphasized by increasing the speed of ships and the size of structures. In addition, predicting the vibration of HOMs is significantly necessary as the VIV becomes stronger in the fast flow speed condition than in the low flow speed condition. This study introduces a methodology according to HOMs hybrid Fluid Structure Interaction (FSI) for predicting the HOMs VIV on the hydrofoils. The HOMs FSI system is verified by comparing the VIV results from the FSI simulation with the experimental results. Finally, the effectiveness of the HOMs FSI is determined by applying the maximum von-Mises stress obtained from the VIV on the hydrofoil to the S-N curve released from Det Norske Veritas (DNV). VIV results from the HOMs FSI include the lock-in characteristics as well as a significant increase of more than 10 times compared with that of low-order modes (LOMs) FSI. In the future works, advanced studies will be required for improving cantilever boundary conditions and the shape of hydrofoils.

The outcome of the consultation is important to both the counselor and the researcher. Analyzing the trends of research on the results of counseling that have been carried out so far will help to comprehensively structure the results of consultations. The purpose of this research is to analyze research trends in Korea, focusing on research related to the outcomes of counseling published in 「Korean Journal of Counseling」 from 2011 to 2021, which is one of the well-known academic journals in the field of counseling in Korea. This is to explore the direction of future research by navigating the knowledge structure of research. There were 197 studies used for analysis, and the final 339 keyword were extracted during the node extraction process and used for analysis. As a result of extracting potential topics using the LDA algorithm, "Measurement and evaluation of counseling outcomes", "emotions and mediate factors affecting interpersonal relationships", and "career stress and coping strategies" are the main topics. Identifying major topics through trend analysis of counseling performance research contributed to structuring counseling performance. In-depth research on these topics needs to continue thereafter.

As Korean coastal activity is high, the incidence of accidents caused by marine waste is extensive. An accident in which marine floating waste ropes and fishing nets are wound around the propeller of a sailing ship is termed "Rope wrapped accident." To prevent such accidents, this study applied the Finite Element Method (F.E.M.) for performance evaluation of the shaver type cutter, commercialized in Korea, through a structural safety review and water tank test. The results demonstrate that all parts constituting the rope cutter were damaged before reaching 0.5s, and the safety factor of each part was found to be at least 2 based on the maximum stress generated compared to the tensile strength. In the basin test, the cutting process of the shaver type rope cutter was reviewed, and the installation angle was set for each case considering that the rope floating in the sea actually enters at various angles. Consequently, as it was successful at cutting in all the cases, it can be concluded that there will be no problem in cutting the rope regardless of the mounted angle of the cutting blade.

This study investigated the behavior of out-of-plane skewed moment connections that were designed as IMFs, as per the Korean standards. A total of 14 finite element models were constructed with the consideration of two types (single- and double-sided connections) and four levels of skew angle (0°, 10°, 20°, and 30°). The results indicated that the skewed connections considered in this study met the acceptance criteria for IMFs given by the codes. However, the load-carrying capacities of skewed connections were decreased as the skew angle increased. For the connection with a skew angle of 30°, the peak load was noted to be 13% less and the energy dissipation capacity could be 26% less than that of non-skewed connection. In addition, because of the skewed nature, the stress distribution in the skewed beam flange near the connection was asymmetric and the stresses were concentrated on the beam inner flange. Column twisting induced by the skewed configuration was very small and negligible in the beam and column combination considered in this study.

According to KISA, many people play smartphone games. stress relieving, time is the reason to beat. Attempts to combine mobile games and education in the Korean game market are continuing. Studies have shown that using commercial games for education can be effective. Also, researches for activation educational games are increasing. Creating educational games requires a lot of time and money. Due to the nature of mobile games, the service is often terminated without updating. If you are able to acquire a naturally educational part while playing mobile games, you will see the effect of one pair of fun and education, both at once. We analyzed the education factors of the game with 'Real Farm' which is a simulation farm game. We focused on analyzing information acquisition and utilization part through indirect experience which is characteristic of simulation and examined educational factors based on design elements of educational game. This can signal the positive aspects of the game and the educational content of existing games. If you use smartphones as a pedagogy, you can expect a positive perception of games and an increase in the average life expectancy of mobile games.

This study was done to evaluate the dermatoxicity of zinc sulfate (ZnSO4) and the protective effect of Rubus parvifolius L. (RP) extract on cytotoxicity of ZnSO4, mordant in cultured SK-MEL-3 cells. For this study, it was done an antioxidative effect as DPPH-radical scavenging ability as well as the diminutive ability of total melanin with cell viability. ZnSO4 significantly decreased cell viability in dose-dependently, and it was mid-toxic. The ascorbic acid significantly increased cell viability damaged by ZnSO4-induced cytotoxicity. In the protective effect of RP extract on ZnSO4-induced cytotoxicity, RP extract significantly increased cell viability compared with ZnSO4-treated group, and also it showed both the DPPH-radical scavenging ability and the decrease of total amount of melanin. From these findings, the cytotoxicity of ZnSO4 is correlated with oxidative stress, and also RP extract effectively protected ZnSO4-induced cytotoxicity via antioxidative effect such as DPPH-radical scavenging ability with the whitening effect by the decrement of total amount of melanin. Conclusively, the natural ingredients like RP extract may be a useful agent for the improvement of antioxidative and whitening effects
