청소년 스트레스가 학교적응에 미치는 영향과 사회적지지의 매개효과 (A Study on the Juveniles's Stress of Their Adjustment to School Life and the Mediate Effect of Social Support)

  • 본 연구는 스트레스가 학교적응에 미치는 영향과 사회적지지의 매개효과를 분석함으로써, 청소년의 학교 적응력을 높이기 위한 방안을 모색하여 사회복지적 함의를 제공하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 경남지역 중학생을 대상으로 하여 자료를 수집하였다. 연구결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 스트레스는 사회적지지에 부적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 스트레스가 많을수록 사회적지지가 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 사회적지지는 학교적응에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 사회적지지가 높을수록 학교적응은 높게 나타났다. 셋째, 스트레스는 청소년의 학교적응에 부적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 스트레스가 높을수록 학교적응은 낮았다. 넷째, 사회적지지를 투입하여 스트레스 매개효과를 검증한 결과, 스트레스가 학교적응에 직접적인 영향을 미치지 않고, 사회적지지를 거쳐 간접적으로 청소년의 학교적응에 영향을 미치는 완전 매개(full mediation)효과가 발견되었다. 즉, 스트레스가 높은 청소년은 사회적지지가 낮았고, 스트레스는 사회적지지를 거쳐 간접적으로 학교적응에 영향을 미치는 것이 확인되었다.

일 도시 감정노동자의 직무스트레스와 우울증의 연관성 (The Relationship Between Job Stress and Depressive Disorder Among Emotional Laborers in a City)

  • Objective : The purpose of our study was to investigate the relationship between job stress and depressive disorder among emotional laborers in a city. Methods : A total of 677 emotional laborers living in Jeonju-city participated in this study. The participants completed survey questions regarding demographic characteristics, job stress (using the Korean Occupational Stress Scale-24, KOSS-24), and depression (the Patient Health Questionnaire-9, PHQ-9). Logistic regression was performed to estimate the association between job stress and depression. Results : Our results indicated that 34.9% of the participants had a high risk of total job stress and 21.7% of participants had depression. In the multivariate logistic regression analysis, female sex (OR=1.66, 95% CI=1.01-2.72) and total job stress (OR=3.84, 95% CI=2.57-5.75) were significantly associated with depression after adjusting for confounding factors. Among the subscales of job stress, job demand (OR=3.06, 95% CI=1.99-4.72) and occupational climate (OR=1.88, 95% CI=1.19-2.97) were significantly associated with depression. But insufficient job control, interpersonal conflict, job insecurity, the organizational system and lack of rewards were not. Conclusion : Among the emotional laborers, job stress, particularly job demand and occupational climate, were major contributing factors associated with depression. Early screening and preventive strategies focusing on job stress could reduce the impact of depression in emotional laborers.

Screening of Anti-stress Activities in Extracts from Korean Medicinal Herbs

  • When we carried out an anti-stress study using the extracts of A. senticosus, R. coreanus, F .japonica root, and A. fruticosa fruit grown in Korea, the results showed that blood cell counts returned to normal levels fastest with R. coreanus after stress application. The total WBC count was decreased in mice due to stress, whereas the number of lymphocytes was increased. The serum glucose level was higher in the control group compared with the comparative stress group. The weight of each organ to returning to normal level was significantly faster in those mice treated with the extracts compared with those in control groups. Especially, it even return to that of normal level with R. coreanus extract, suggesting that the administration of the plant extracts in this study would affect hormonal activities in the body to increase immune activities. F. japonica root that showed the highest anti-stress activities maybe effective for lipid and carbohydrate metabolism. These results would provide basic data to examine anti-stress effects of natural plants. Further in-depth studies could contribute in the development of functional plant materials with anti-stress activities.

초등교사의 직무스트레스와 스트레스 대처방식이 직무만족도에 미치는 영향 (The Influences of Job Stress and Stress-Coping Style on Job Satisfaction of the Elementary School Teachers)

  • The purpose of this study was to verify the influences among job stress, stress-coping style and job satisfaction of the elementary school teachers. An objective of study is 256 elementary school teachers. After choosing 7 schools located in Busan, 283 teachers participated in this study. The measurements used in this study were the teachers' job stress scale, coping ability scale against stress, and the Korea Teacher Opinionnaire Test. The collected data were analyzed with SPSS 14.0 program. For handling data, correlations and Multiple Regression Analysis was conducted. Major findings were summarized as follows: First, it is found that reward & personnel management in sub-variables of job stress and control method in sub-variables of stress-coping style has significantly predicted job satisfaction level. Second, in sub-variables of job satisfaction, reward & personnel management, control method, management system, learning establishments has significantly predicted duties, increase of specialty, human relationships, and work atmosphere, respectively. Finally, the limitation of this study and suggestion for further research are presented.

고등학생의 스트레스와 신체증상 및 대처방식 (Stress, Physical Symptoms, and Coping Styles of High School Students)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship among stress, physical symptoms and coping styles of high school students. Methods: In this study, 356 second grade high school students (male 181, female 175) from two schools, which were located in Dae-gu city, participated in the study. Mean scores with standard deviation, T-test, ANOVA, Pearson's Correlation Coefficient were used to analyze the data. Analysis was done using the SPSS/PC program. Results: The stress level of high school students averaged 2.59 out of a possible score range between 1 and 5, and physical symptoms, 2.38. The average level for coping styles was 1.36 of a possible range between 0 and 3. The correlations between stress and physical symptoms (r=.506), between physical symptoms and coping styles (r=.304) and between stress and coping styles (r=.363) were all significant. Conclusions: To guide the high school health program, we must try to understand the traits of the students and make efforts to identify personal and concrete difficulties in coping. Therefore it is necessary to use a stress care program to systematically improve their health.

향기요법이 고등학생의 스트레스와 스트레스 반응에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of Aromatherapy on Stress and Stress Responses in Adolescents)

  • Purpose: This study was done to examine the effects of aromatherapy on stress and stress responses in adolescents. Methods: A two-group cross-over design was used for this study. The experimental treatment was aroma essential oil inhalation and the placebo treatment was carrier oil inhalation using a necklace. The sample included 36 female high school students. Fisher's exact test, t-test, and paired t-test using SPSS/WIN program were used to analyze the data. Results: Stress levels were significantly lower when the students received the aroma treatment compared to when they received the placebo treatment. The stress responses except salivary IgA levels were significantly lower when the students received the aroma treatment. Conclusion: Aroma inhalation could be a very effective stress management method for high school students. Therefore, it is recommended that this program be used in clinical practice as an effective nursing intervention for high school students.

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to describe stress, stress coping, and school adaptation according to Myers-Briggs type indicator(MBTI) personality type in freshmen nursing students. Methods: This study was a cross sectional survey and the data was collected from 267 freshmen nursing students by means of self reported questionnaires from March 3 to 30, 2012. Collected data were analyzed on SPSS win 18.0. Results: 16 personality types were all seen in this study participants. There were no significant differences in stress, stress coping, and school adaptation according to 4 functions and 4 temperaments of MBTI. Conclusion: Nursing students show various personality types and we need to understand their diversity and reflect it to a school curriculum or education program development. Further study is required to identify the effects of self-understanding program on stress management and school adaptation.

중고등학생 자녀에 대한 사교육비 지출과 사교육 스트레스가 어머니의 부모효능감에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Expenditure on Private Education and Stress Caused by Private Education on Parental Efficacy of Mothers of Junior and Senior High School Students)

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of expenditure on private education and stress caused by private education on the parental efficacy of mothers of junior and senior high school students. The subjects were 300 mothers of students who were enrolled in the junior and senior high school in Seoul and its suburbs. The results were as follows: First, the level of stress from private education was found to be higher than the degree of parental efficacy. Second, a hierarchical regression analysis was performed by using expenditure on private education and stress caused by private education as independent variables and the socio-demographic characteristics of mothers as control variables in order to identify their effect on the parental efficacy of mothers of junior and senior high school students. The results show that stress from private education and monthly income were significantly related to parental efficacy. That is, the lower the level of stress from private education and the higher the monthly income, the higher was the degree of parental efficacy. These findings suggest that expenditure on private education seems to be determined by the household income level; thus, income may affect psychological stress and parental efficacy of mothers with respect to the process of providing private education.

뉴로피드백 프로그램이 고등학생의 뇌기능과 스트레스에 미치는 영향 (Effects of a Neurofeedback Program on Brain Function and Stress in High School Students)

  • Purpose: This study was done to determine the effects of a neurofeedback program on brain function and stress in occupational high school students. Method: A nonequivalent control group, non-synchronized with pre-posttest design was used with 62 students. Data collection was done from July to December, 2007. The neurofeedback training was given for 30 minutes at a time, three times a week for 12 weeks. Brain function was measured by brain waves in the frontal lobes of the students and analyzed by eight brain quotients characterizing patterns of EEG rhythms. The instrument used to measure stress was a scale for stress from regular daily life. Results: After neurofeedback training, the level of brain quotients in students in the experiment group increased(t=2.36, p<.05) and the level of stress decreased(t=-3.59, p<.001). Conclusion: The results of the study suggested that a neurofeedback program is effective for brain function improvement and stress reduction in high school students. Therefore, the conclusion of this study is that neurofeedback programs can be useful to increase brain function and decrease stress in occupational high school students.
