This study empirically examined which factors facilitate or disturb the learning and practical knowledge transfer in consulting and which factors have most powerful influence on the learning and transfer of consulting knowledge. Analysing 160 data collected from FTA origin managers in export companies, the study findings show the ambiguity(-), complexity(+), consulting competences(+), intervention design and delivery(+), self-efficacy(+) and government subsidies(+) significantly affected on Client's learning, while consultant's expertise(+), consulting involvement(+), transfer culture(+) significantly affected on consulting knowledge transfer, respectively. It showed that consulting competence and causal ambiguity have an greater influence on learning while consultant's expertise has a greater influence on consulting knowledge transfer, respectively. The findings implicate that consulting success depends on rather consultant's factors(consultant's expertise and consulting competence) than client's input factors. To succeed in consulting project, it is important that the consultants effectively develop and apply consulting methods & tools as shared interfaces between consultant and client.

In order to accomplish a successful management consulting project, the client's receptivity to consulting as well as the management consultant's competency is very important. Even if a consultant with a high level of competence is put into a project, if the consulting receptivity of the company is low, a successful project can not be accomplished. On the other hand, even if consulting receptivity of the company is high, management consulting performance can not be expected if management consultant competency is lacking. This study analyzes the affect of consultant competency on management performance of client firms and the mediating effect of consulting receptivity of client company in terms of management performance. Management consultant competency is measured by task-related competency, managerial competency and common competency, and management performance is measured by financial performance and non-financial performance. The parameters are measured by consulting receptivity and management consulting performance. According to the results of the study, the management consultant's competency has a positive (+) influence on both of consulting receptivity and management consulting performance. Consulting receptivity has a positive (+) influence on both of management consulting performance and non-financial performance. Management consulting performance has a positive (+) influence on both of financial performance and non-financial performance. The mediating effect is that the consulting receptivity mediates directly or indirectly between management consultant competency and financial performance via management consulting performance and non-financial performance. The results of the empirical analysis of this study can contribute to the enhancement of management performance through management consulting in viewpoints of client firms and also contributing to more efficient and effective management consulting.

The computer system validation consulting industry is growing as domestic GMP companies' overseas exports or advancements increase, and computer system validation has been mandatory in Korea since the 2010s, but domestic CSV consulting companies are small in size and have a short history, revealing many shortcomings in terms of service quality and customer satisfaction when conducting consulting. Research related to consulting has been mainly focused on management consulting and IT consulting, and research related to computer system validation is very insufficient. This study confirmed the effect of consultant competency and service quality on consulting performance, customer satisfaction, and intention to renew contract when performing computer system validation through empirical research on food, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, and medical device companies, which are representative companies in the GMP industry. As a result, it was confirmed that consultant competency and service quality had a significant effect on consulting performance, customer satisfaction, and intention to renew contract. In addition, it was confirmed that the reputation and expertise of consulting companies had a moderating effect on the relationship between consultant competency and consulting performance.
With the reformation of organization and function of local office of education in 2010, consulting-supervision is introduced to schools as a system for education reform to improve the quality of school education. However, a dedicated on-line portal system that can provide integrated management on the functionalities of consulting-supervision has not been implemented yet. To successfully operate consulting-supervision in schools, it is also needed to provide an on-line consultant education system, that can support teachers to train themselves as a supervision-consultant. In this paper, we introduce an on-line consultant training system that provides various learning activity tools for consultant training based on Learning Activity Management System(LAMS) and Action Learning. The system consists of Management stage, Analysis stage, Solution stage, and Action stage for the empowerment of consultants' expertises, and is named as MASA. Brain-writing, SWOT(Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threads) analysis, 5Whys, decision grid, PMI(Plus, Minus, Interesting), and black chart techniques were developed in MASA as learning activity tools for consultant training.

Consulting projects such as diagnosis of vulnerabilities of major information and telecommunication infrastructure are increasing, mandatory public information infrastructure assessment (PIA) for public institutions and ISMS (Information Security Management System) The demand for information protection consulting is continuously increasing as the field obeys the law, but the lack of information security consultant is not improving. One reason is that information security consultants are not being developed to meet the increasing demand for information protection consulting. In this paper, we present the case of information protection consulting as a scenario for studying and educating the duty of information security consultant by studying overseas case and domestic case based on standardization and standardization. We propose a problem-based learning (PBL) training method. In addition, we analyze the effectiveness of the PBL - based learning method.
Despite the importance of knowledge complementarities (KC) to firm performance, very little is known about exactly what constitutes KC and how synergistic knowledge is created in KC. This research looks into the dimensionality of KC and how synergistic knowledge as an essential component of KC is generated in a process innovation (PI) project. We propose that KC consists of potential complementary knowledge, collaborative elaboration (CE) process, and synergistic knowledge. The model is investigated quantitatively, using a sample of 26 matched-pairs of client and consultant who participated in a PI project, and then qualitatively using interviews of a sub-sample of 7 matched-pairs of client and consultant. Data were collected in a longitudinal way at four different points during the four month project period. Results show that consultant's learning about the client's business occurs first and then client learning about IT capabilities follows through CE. With this enhanced clients' knowledge about IT capabilities, clients play an initiative role in designing the To-Be business processes, while consultants play a supporting role by introducing best practices or making suggestions based on their experiences. Future research implications as well as practical implications are also discussed.
