The results founded are as follows. First, the depression of multicultural adolescents was shown to decrease their life satisfaction. Second, school adjustment played a partial mediating role in the causal relationship between depression and life satisfaction of multicultural adolescents. Third, the effect of depression of multicultural adolescents on the life satisfaction was partly mediated by their career attitude. • Objective: This study aimed to examine the sequential mediating effects of children's perceived maternal acceptance and peer acceptance in the relationship between maternal warmth and first grade children's school adjustment. Methods: Participants in this study were 979 seven-year-old children(498 boys, 481 girls) recruited for the Korea Child Panel Study. Data were analyzed by analyzing descriptive statistics, correlations, and significance of serial mediation pathways using SPSS 18.0 and PROCESS Macro 3.4. Results: Maternal warmth at age five effected perception of maternal acceptance at age six. Perceived maternal acceptance at age six effected perceived peer acceptance at age six. Perceived peer acceptance at age six effected school adjustment at age seven. Lastly, perceived maternal acceptance and peer acceptance at age six had a serial mediation effect between maternal warmth at age five and school adjustment at age seven. Conclusion/Implications: Perceived social acceptance during preschool years should be emphasized in order to promote school adjustment for first grade children. Parent education for promoting better parent child relationships should be considered and teachers should encourage peer play interaction to help children perceive acceptance from their peers.

  • In this study we examine the relationship between the social participation in the early adolescents and school adjustment as well as the mediating effects of a sense of community. Findings provide ways of intervention that can increase a youth's school life. Based on samples of 2,351 first grade middle school students from the data in the 'Korea Youth Panel Survey' administered by the National Youth Policy Institute, we analysed the correlation among the variables. The results are as follows. First, the social participation of youths showed a major influence on school adjustment, and was identified as: the more the students participate in social activities, the better the students get adjusted to school. Second, the social participation has a significant effect on sense of community. In other words, the more the students participate in social activities, the more the students get a sense of community. Third, a sense of community mediated the process of social participation on school adjustment. These findings indicate that in order to increase a youth's school adjustment, a promotion of social participation and an effort to increase a sense of community are required. The implications of these findings suggest that by intervening social welfare and policy, can improve the integrity of a youth's school life.

For this purpose, we analyzed the data of fourth wave Korean Child-Youth Panel Survey(KCYPS) including parents' child neglect and abuse, school-aged children's school adjustment, self-awareness and peer attachment. A total of 2,378 children and their parents using structural equation model of mediating effects responded to the survey. Measurement model and structure model had favorable goodness of fit and the results of structure models on each path were as follows. First, school-aged children's school adaption had negative correlations with parent's child neglect and abuse, but positive correlations with their self-awareness and peer attachment. Second, parent's child neglect and abuse influenced on school-aged children's school adjustment by partial mediators, their self-awareness and peer attachment. These findings showed practical way to increase school-aged children's self-awareness and positive peer attachment.

  • This study examined the effect of maternal positive parenting attitudes on school adjustment among multi-cultural adolescents in Korea and investigated if multi-cultural adolescents' ego-resiliency mediates the relationship between maternal positive parenting attitudes and school adjustment. We used panel data from the fifth wave (2015) of the Multicultural Adolescents Panel Study (MAPS) collected by the National Youth Policy Institute. Participants were 1,297 multi-cultural adolescents (639 boys, 658 girls) who are second-year middle school students and have foreign mothers. SPSS 25.0 performed descriptive statistical analysis and correlation analysis. The structural equation model (SEM) was estimated with Mplus 5.12. The results of this study were as follows. First, a higher level of maternal positive parenting attitudes were related to higher level of ego-resiliency and school adjustment for multi-cultural adolescents. Second, maternal positive parenting attitudes had an indirect effect on school adjustment for multi-cultural adolescents via ego-resiliency. The results of this study indicate that maternal positive parenting behaviors would help improve the school adjustment of multi-cultural adolescents by increasing the level of ego-resiliency. In addition, the results of this study suggest that improving ego-resiliency for multi-cultural adolescents can be an effective method to help in school adjustment, as well as education for maternal parenting attitude.

For this, the study conducted survey targeting 380 students without disabilities from B city who were participating in middle school on inclusive physical education among them were surveyed through convenience sampling were used for final data processing. To analyze the data to verify the hypotheses, SPSS 21.0 program population sociological characteristics were used for frequency analysis, confirmatory factor analysis was used to test the validity of the collected data, and correlation analysis, and Cronbachs'${\alpha}$ value was used for reliability test. And AMOS 20.0 program were utilized to conduct mediating analysis and the statistically significant level (p) is fixed as .05. The results are the following. First, there was a statistically significant correlation between non-disabled student's sense of community, school adjustment and internal attribution. Second, internal attribution partially mediated the relationship between the sense of community of non-disabled students and school adjustment. However external attribution did not mediate the relationship between sense of community of non-disabled students and school adjustment.
