실시간 시스템에서 성능 향상 기법 (Enhanced Technique for Performance in Real Time Systems)

  • The real time scheduling is a key research area in high performance computing and has been a source of challenging problems. A periodic task is an infinite sequence of task instance where each job of a task comes in a regular period. The RMS (Rate Monotonic Scheduling) algorithm has the advantage of a strong theoretical foundation and holds out the promise of reducing the need for exhaustive testing of the scheduling. Many real-time systems built in the past based their scheduling on the Cyclic Executive Model because it produces predictable schedules which facilitate exhaustive testing. In this work we propose hybrid scheduling method which combines features of both of these scheduling algorithms. The original rate monotonic scheduling algorithm didn't consider the uniform sampling tasks in the real time systems. We have enumerated some issues when the RMS is applied to our hybrid scheduling method. We found the scheduling bound for the hard real-time systems which include the uniform sampling tasks. The suggested hybrid scheduling algorithm turns out to have some advantages from the point of view of the real time system designer, and is particularly useful in the context of large critical systems. Our algorithm can be useful for real time system designer who must guarantee the hard real time tasks.

  • 한정된 자원을 다수의 사용자에게 분배해야 하는 무선 네트워크의 환경에서 자원의 할당과 관리는 중요하다. 이를 위해 다른 레이어 간에 통합 적응하는 레이어를 디자인해야 하는 필요성이 대두되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 크로스 레이어 기반의 스케줄링 기법에 대해 다룬다. 기존의 스케줄링 기법들 살펴보고 이를 보완한 스케줄링 기법을 제시한다. 멀티미디어 서비스 환경에서는 다양한 서비스를 제공하기 때문에 스케줄링 기법 또한 다양하게 적용할 수 있어야 한다. 따라서 기존 기법에서 적용되지 않았던 서비스에 따른 스케줄링 기법을 제시하였다. 제시한 기법은 시뮬레이션을 통해 기존의 기법에 비해 무선자원 이용효율이 뛰어남을 보였다.

  • This paper describe an approximation method for solving the minimum makespan problem of job shop scheduling with fuzzy processing time. We consider the multi-part production scheduling problem in a job shop scheduling. The job shop scheduling problem is a complex system and a NP-hard problem. The problem is more complex if the processing time is imprecision. The Fuzzy set theory can be useful in modeling and solving scheduling problems with uncertain processing times. Lee-Li fuzzy number comparison method will be used to compare processing times that evaluated under fuzziness. This study propose heuristic algorithm solving the job shop scheduling problem under fuzzy environment. In This study the proposed algorithm is designed to treat opinions of experts, also can be used to solve a job shop environment under the existence of alternate operations. On the basis of the proposed method, an example is presented.

  • Pipeline construction is a highly repetitive and resource-intensive process that is exposed to various constraints and uncertainties in the working environment. Effective look-ahead scheduling based on the most recent project performance data can greatly improve project execution and control. This study enhances the traditional linear scheduling method with stochastic simulation to incorporate activity performance uncertainty in look-ahead scheduling. To facilitate the use of this stochastic method, a computer program, Stochastic Linear Scheduling Method (SLSM), was designed and implemented. Accurate look-ahead scheduling can help schedulers to better anticipate problem areas and formulate new plans to improve overall project performance.

Task-Technology Fit in Construction Scheduling

  • Construction managers use scheduling methods to improve the outcome of their project. Despite the many obvious advantages of the critical path method (CPM), its use in construction has been limited. Understanding the reasons why CPM is not used as extensively as expected could improve its level of acceptance in the construction industry. The link between construction scheduling methods and the tasks expected to be performed by schedulers has been an on-going concern in the construction industry. This study proposes a task-technology fit model to understand why CPM is not used as extensively as expected in construction scheduling. A task-technology fit model that aims to measure the extent to which a construction scheduling method functionally matches the tasks expected to be performed by the scheduling staff. The model that is proposed is an answer to the lack of proper instruments for evaluating the extent to which scheduling methods are used in the industry.

  • This paper explored an effective scheduling method for the Seoul-Busan High Speed Rail. It is important to decide train frequency influencing on scheduling method. Main factors to decide train frequency are location of station, social economic index, land use of station area and travel demand. In this paper, we focused on travel demand which is critical factor to decide train frequency. And we studied on standardized scheduling method. Simulation method is used to analyze the performance of explored method.

  • 본 연구에서는 우선 삼성 전자에서 제시한 MMR에서 기회적 패킷 스케줄링 방법을 분석 하고 시뮬레이션을 통해 효율성을 검증해 보았다. 아울러 제안된 방법 하에서 수율과 공평성 사이의 관계를 조사 하였다. 본 연구의 주된 목적은 MMR에서 사용자의 QoS 요구 조건을 고려한 기회적 패킷 스케줄링 방법을 제안 하는 것이다. 시뮬레이션을 사용하여 제안된 방법의 성능을 i) QoS 를 고려하지 않은 순수한 기회적 패킷 스케줄링 방법의 성능 그리고 ii) QoS 만을 고려하고 기회적 패킷 스케줄링은 활용하지 않는 패킷 스케줄링 방법의 성능과 비교 분석하였다.

  • Job shop scheduling problem is a complex system and an NP-hard problem. Thus it is natural to look for heuristic method. We consider the multi-part production scheduling problem for quality level in a job shop scheduling under the existence of alternative routings. The problem is more complex if the processing time is imprecision. It requires suitable method to deal with imprecision. Fuzzy set theory can be useful in modeling and solving scheduling problems with uncertain processing times. Li-Lee fuzzy number comparison method will be used to compare processing times that evaluated under fuzziness. This study presents heuristic method for quality level in bottleneck-based job shop scheduling under fuzzy environment. On the basis of the proposed method, an example is presented.

합성 이용율을 이용한 혼합 태스크 스케줄링 (Mixed Task Scheduling Using Synthetic Utilization)

  • 시간 복잡도가 O(1)인 실시간 비주기 태스크 스케줄링 방법 중 하나인 합성 이용율 방법은 주기 태스크들을 고려하지 않고 단지 비주기 태스크들을 위한 스케줄링 방식이다. 하지만 실제로 비주기 태스크는 대부분의 경우에 주기 태스크와의 혼합된 형태로 스케줄링이 이루어지며, 주기 태스크의 스케줄링을 보장하면서 비주기 태스크의 스케줄링 가능성을 판단해야 한다. 본 논문에서는 주기태스크와 비주기 태스크가 혼합된 태스크 집합을 합성 이용율을 이용하여 스케줄링하기 위한 방법을 제시하였으며 기존의 비주기 서버를 이용하여 혼합된 형태의 태스크 집합을 스케줄링 하는 방법에 비해 최대 20%의 스케줄링 성능이 향상됨을 보였다.
