The nonlinear stochastic behavior of chaotic inflation is characterized by the 'scaling' effect. Using a simple criterion for the appearance of scaling behavior in the ${\lambda}{\phi}^4$ inflation model, we show explicitly that in this limit the onset of the scaling regime does not require any special initial conditions and that it is independent of the self-coupling constant ${\lambda}$. Non-Gaussian statistics in adiabatic fluctuations are important only for super-horizon scales and the scaling regime does not lead to any significant statistical properties on currently observable scales. However, the scaling effect gives some cosmological consequences very different from what we expect in the naive diffusion approximation for quantum fluctuations. The classical (deterministic) treatment of the inflation field (essentially a quantum mechanical object.) becomes valid towards the end of inflation.
Objectives : The purpose of the study is to investigate the deciding factors of regular scaling checkup in metropolitan adults. Methods : The subjects were 395 adults of 20s to 50s in Seoul and Gyeonggi province from September 25 to October 4, 2012. Data were self-reported questionnaires. Results : Female tried to receive more regular scaling checkup than male. Dental practitioners were acquainted with the dental knowledge and had more scaling checkup. Those who received dental scaling checkup tended to use dental hygiene products and visit the dentists regularly. Those who receiving good dental health services tended to visit the dental clinics more frequently. Higher knowledge and lower fear of dental treatment lead to frequent regular checkup. There were significant positive correlations between satisfaction, kindness, knowledge of scaling and regular scaling checkup. Fear to dental treatment showed the negative correlation. Conclusions : In order to increase intention degree of regular scaling checkup, it is necessary to develop programs for proper oral health behavior and to improve patient care services by dental hygienist.
Objectives: To investigate factors related to scaling between Korean and multicultural families using data from the 18th Youth Health Behavior Survey (KYRBS), 38,320 Korean adolescents were selected as subjects. Methods: A complex sample cross-analysis was conducted on general characteristics and oral health characteristics using the IBM SPSS program. Factors related to adolescent scaling were analyzed using complex sample logistic regression analysis. Results: Compared to Korean families, adolescents from multicultural families had 0.50 times less scaling experience within 12 months. Learning achievement was 1.30 times higher in high compared to low, indicating that scaling experience was high. In terms of economic status, scaling experience was found to be high at 1.50 times in high compared to low. Non-smoking adolescents had 1.26 times higher scaling experience. It was found that adolescents who do not use dental floss and interdental brushes have 0.71 and 0.55 times less scaling experience, respectively. Conclusions: Based on the above results, there is a need to increase adolescents awareness of oral health and motivate them to manage their own oral care. There is a need to provide opportunities to participate in various oral health education programs and to deepen continuous oral health education on oral disease prevention.
Objectives : The objective of this study was to compare oral health behaviors and oral health indices between regular scaling group and irregular scaling group. Methods : This study was performed at M Dental Clinic in Busan on 352 dental patients treated between January 2014 and June 2015 using V6.0 software and medical interviews. The 352 patients were divided into 3 groups and oral health behavior (OHB) and oral health indices were compared. Results : The OHB scores significantly differed among Groups C and A. Group C had the lowest number of "Bad" scores for the Simplified Debris Index (S-DI), Simplified Calculus Index (S-CI), and Simplified Oral Hygiene Index (S-OHI). Groups B and A had the lowest number of "Excellent" scores. Group C had the lowest bleeding on probing (BOP), calculus rate (CR) and decayed teeth (DT). Furthermore, Group C had the highest number of missing teeth (MT) and filled teeth (FT). Conclusions : Patients who underwent regular scaling had the highest OHB and oral health index scores. This emphasizes the importance of regular scaling for prevention and early detection of oral disease.
Objective : The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship of the oral health behavior of oral prophylaxis clients and some residents in a community to their simplified oral environment index. Methods : The subjects in this study were 520 people who had their teeth cleaned in the oral prophylaxis practice lab in the department of dental hygiene at J health college. A survey was conducted from March 23 to June 3, 2010, by way of the self-reported questionnaire. The data materials are analyzed by general characteristics frequency and ratio, the relationship of oral health behavior and sex, age, scaling experience, simplified oral hygiene index $x^{2}$ test analysis. Results : 1. Concerning links between gender and oral health behavior including daily toothbrushing frequency, the largest group of the respondents brushed their teeth three times a day(p<0.05). As to educational experiences on toothbrushing method and the use of oral hygiene supplies, the women had more educational experiences than the men(p<0.05). 2. Regarding connections between age and oral health behavior involving daily toothbrushing frequency, the largest number of the respondents brushed their teeth three times a day in every age group (p <0.001). As for educational experiences on toothbrushing method, those who were in their 50s and up(64.7%) learned about that, and they had more educational experiences with age(p<0.05). As for scaling experiences, the older respondents had their teeth scaled more often (p<0.001). 3. As to relationship between scaling experiences and oral health behavior, there were differences in toothbrushing frequency according to scaling experiences(p <0.05). Regarding educational experiences on toothbrushing method, those who had their teeth cleaned received more toothbrushing education(p<0.001). Concerning smoking, the nonsmokers had more experiences to get their teeth cleaned (p<0.001). 4. As for links between simplified oral environment index and oral health behavior including a time for toothbrushing, the respondents who did toothbrushing after every meal(80.4%) had good simplified oral environment indexes(p<0.05). 5. In regard to relationship between simplified oral environment index and oral health behavior, oral environment index had a positive correlation to the use of oral hygiene supplies( r=0.129**), toothbrushing time(r=0.116**) and educational experiences on toothbrushing method (r=0.099**). Smoking(r=-0.092**) had a negative correlation to that. Conclusion : The above-mentioned findings illustrate that oral health behavior is one of crucial factors to affect oral health status and oral environment care. Therefore oral prophylaxis practice lab visitors should receive education on the right toothbrushing method and the use of oral hygiene supplies to promote their oral health, and an incremental oral health care system that involves regular scaling should be introduced.
The scaling relationship of the longest relaxation time of a single chain of semiflexible biological polyelectrolyte has been investigated by performing well-established coarse-grained Brownian dynamics simulations. Two kinds of longest relaxation times were estimated from time-sequences of chain trajectories, and their behaviors were interpreted by applying the scaling law for different molecular weights of polyelectrolyte and Debye lengths. The scaling exponents for longest stress relaxation and rotational relaxation are found in the ranges of 1.67-1.79 and 1.65-1.81, respectively, depending on the physicochemical interaction of electrostatic Debye screening. The scaling exponent increases with decreasing screening effect, which is a special feature of polyelectrolytes differing from neutral polymers. It revealed that the weak screening allows a polyelectrolyte chain to follow the behavior in good solvent due to the strong electrostatic repulsion between beads.
Objectives: The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors of oral health beliefs on scaling performance by national health insurance coverage in consumers. Methods: The subjects were 353 people living in Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi-do from September 25 to October 20, 2013. They filled out the self-reported questionnaire after receiving informed consents. The questionnaire included 6 questions of general characteristics, 6 questions of oral health behavior, 6 questions of health insurance coverage, and 1 question of subjective oral health recognition. The oral health belief consisted of 6 questions of seriousness, 6 questions of susceptibility, 8 questions of barriers, 5 questions of benefit, and 3 questions of self-efficacy measure by Likert 5 scale. Cronbach's alpha in the study was 0.759. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 20.0 for frequency analysis, t-test, ANOVA, post-hoc Scheffe test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and binary logistic regression. Results: The influencing factors of oral health belief model were Seriousness(${\beta}=0.091$), Self efficacy(${\beta}=-0.471$) and age(${\beta}=0.855$)(p<0.05). Those who had highly perceived seriousness and younger age tended to have probability of scaling performance. Higher self-efficacy tended to take more chance to have scaling performance probability. Conclusions: In order to cover the scaling by national health insurance, it is very important to notice the benefit of health insurance coverage of scaling to the consumers. National health insurance coverage enables the scaling practice to be easily accessible to the people. Easy access to scaling by low cost strategy can improve the oral health behavior.
This study is focused on the investigation for similitude the requirements between prototype and scaled models to determine the structural behavior of concrete load bearing systems. The scaling concept has been utilized in many engineering branches, has been assisted to engineers and scientists for obtain the behavior of the prototype by using scaled model. The scaling can be done for two purposes, either scaling up or scaling down depending upon the application. Because, scaled down models are the experimentation on scaled models is cheaper than huge structures. These models also provide facilities for experimental work. Similarity relationships between systems are created either by field equations of the system or by dimensional analysis. Within this study, similarity relationships were obtained by both methods. The similarity relations obtained are applied to different load bearing systems and it is determined that the similarity relation is a general expression. In this study, as an example, column, frame, cantilever beam and simple beam are chosen and 1/2, 1/5 and 1/10 scales are applied. The results are compared with the analytical results which are obtained by creating of the finite element models with SAP2000 software of different scaled load bearing systems. The analysis results of all systems are examined and it is determined that the scale factors are constant depending on the scale types for different load bearing systems.
Objectives : The purpose of this study was to investigate attitudes toward and practice of oral health management among adults in the Gumi area. Health behavior especially drinking and smoking have been proven to affect the tissues around the teeth and increasing in importance. Thus the study set out to examine oral management according to drinking and smoking to suggest a need for education about oral health and provide basic data for oral health education. Methods : Total 226 subjects, who consist of 141 male adults and 85 female adults, in Gumi were asked to fill out a self-administered questionnaire on October 24, 2009. Their answers to the items about general characteristics, health behavior, and oral health behavior were analyzed with the SPSS WIN 12.0 program. Results : 1. As for the frequency of visiting a dental clinic(hospital) for the last year, the non-movement group recorded higher frequency than the movement group, and the drinking group also did than the non-drinking group(p<0.05). 2. As for the experience and frequency of scaling, the female subjects were higher in the experience and frequency of scaling than their male counterparts. The older they got, the more they tended to have scaling. The married respondents had more experiences of scaling than the singles, and the non-drinking group was high in the experience of scaling(p<0.05). 3. As for the number, time, and method of toothbrushing a day, more women answered they brushed teeth three times or more per day than men; those who were in their forties were the highest in terms of the roll method, and those who were in their twenties were the highest in terms of toothbrushing time. The married group and the non-smoking group answered they brushed teeth in the roll method three times or more per day in higher percentage. And the non-drinking group was high in the roll method, which was statistically significant(p<0.05). 4. As for use and kinds of auxiliary oral hygiene devices, the female respondents used them more than their male counterparts. The older they became, the more they used them. The married group, the non-smoking group, and the non-drinking group used such devices a lot. The smoking group used dental floss most, and the non-smoking group used more kinds of such devices than the smoking group, which was statistically significant(p<0.05). Conclusion : Oral diseases can be prevented by adopting healthy and right oral management behavior. Using the findings of the study, more diverse programs about actual oral health education should be activated so that people can change their bad oral management and behavior and develop a habit of the right oral management attitude.
Anomalous scaling behaviors such as significantly large growth exponent (${\beta}$) and small reciprocal of dynamic exponent (1/z) values for many molecular crystalline thin films have been reported. In this study, the variation of scaling exponent values and consequent growth behaviors of molecular thin films were more quantitatively analysed using a (1+1)-dimensional surface lateral diffusion model. From these simulations, influence of step edge barriers and grain boundaries of molecular thin films on the various scaling exponent values were elucidated. The simulation results for the scaling exponents were also well consistent with the experimental data for previously reported molecular thin film systems.
